Colombian international goalkeeper David Ospina has agreed to sign for Monaco at the end of his contract. His deal with current team, OGC Nice, runs out on the 31st June. Ospina was in talks with Nice over a new deal when Monaco came in and gazumped their contract offer.

Ospina had a solid season with Nice and was highly regarded in French and World football with many clubs looking at him throughout the season. However Ospina was looking for the right move and until Monaco came in for him he looked almost certain to sign a new deal with Nice.

Fernando Morientes has today announced that Monaco will be signing David Beckham on a one-year deal. Beckham was a free agent when his contract with French powerhouses PSG ended. Beckham opted to become a free agent, to search for a new challenge and Monaco seems to be that challenge. Beckham and Morientes were team mates at Real Madrid from 2004-2005.

David Beckham is a global star and one of the most well-known faces in World football. His signing is thought to be for the commercial benefits his name brings but Morientes himself was quick to stamp that out by saying "Beckham is here because of his experience and his technical ability. These reports suggesting he was signed for commercial benefits are ludicrous".

Abdul Kader Keïta returns to France after a 4 year absence. Keïta joins Monaco from Al-Sadd in Qatar after his contracted had expired. Whilst in his second spell with Al-Sadd he won the AFC Champions League. Keïta had a previously played for Lille and then Lyon in France and has welcomed the chance to return to Ligue 1.

Miguel Veloso and Suchý Sign

AS Monaco can announce the signings of Portugal international Miguel Veloso and Czech international Marek Suchý. Miguel Veloso signs from Dynamo Kiev in the Ukraine after spending just one season there and Suchý joins from Russian side Spartak Moscow where he has been since 2010.

Both players were transfer listed by their respective clubs and were available for small fees which despite Monaco's money was something Morientes needed after chairmen Dmitry Rybolovlev only gave the Spaniard £8m to spend to strengthen the squad, £5m less than the budget given to him in Ligue 2.

Superb story so far :) Nice signings too.

Keep it up ;)

French international midfielder Blaise Matuidi has signed for AS Monaco from PSG. The Frenchman was looking for more first team football and as a result of his public lambasting was transfer listed. Morientes saw this as a real chance to strengthen his midfield and quickly pounced before no one else could.

This signing adds more depth to the midfield and adds another well experienced player to the Monaco ranks. Matuidi has made over 200 Ligue 1 appearances and also boast 12 caps at senior international level for France.

Matuidi's decision to sign for Monaco may be one that has shocked many people in the footballing world because of the interest around him from many top European sides and Monaco, right now, is a side looking to fight of relegation. Matuidi himself has said he believes this season he can show his true quality because he will playing for a side that is not expected to finish highly.
Unbelievable and great signing! He will be a real beast for you ;)

My save file is corrupt. :( I'm not sure what to do now... I can't get my save back. I guess this story will have to end. Just my luck. :(

Thanks. Once I find something I like I'll be sure to create a story. :)
It's a tad upsetting because I was really getting into it. I usually struggle to find a save I'm really enjoying.

I always take a few saves to get into it :D For ages, I had been planning my FM13 team and it was Monaco, but I never enjoyed that save -_-
I enjoy your posting style, keep up the great work :)
