2013-04-17 09:44#92909 LJO200 : Nice signing, maybe paid a bit too much for him though?

Only 2.75m over his initial value.

Well maybe not then. Great story so far by the way :)

Thanks mate really appreciate the kind words
First game vs Leyton Orient and my first game against another club as Spurs Official manager. Expecting a good game with us the winners obviously. Going to use a mainly full strength BPL squad as I want the players to get to know each other better. Plus I want to see how everyones getting on. I am taking note of how each player is doing, and based on that I will see who will be starting the actual season off for Spurs.

Dece finish I guess

Not a bad performance but conceding to the O's was a little annoying especially as they are two divisions lower than us. On other news I am looking into bringing some of my own shortlisted players. If the deals go through you will know about them.
Today our new signing got here. He's a Spanish / Brazilian striker from the Portuguese League. Not from Porto but from one of their Rivals. Rodrigo. He is fast and has got an amazing first touch. I am really excited to introduce him to the lads. Unfortunately he doesn't speak much english so I will be looking to Sandro to help him along the way. Although Sandro is injured. Perhaps I'll have to bring in another Spanish or Brazilian player. Unlucky for him he got here on the day of a game. So while we were all in Spain getting ready for the fixture against At. Beleares he got time in England to settle in and have a look around the facilities.

He told me that he would be delighted to go back to the Premier League. After he player for Bolton when they were in the BPL. Plus he managed nine goals with them. He looks to be a promising signing.

Stuck on that Island in the middle (Mallorca). Shouldn't say stuck, truly is a beautiful place

Our game today wasn't what I expected. A massive turn out at the Spanish stadium. The hosts put on a good show but finally Ambitious Defoe scored the goal in the last minute. Should have been a high scoring game. I think we hit the post seven times. I gave the lads my thoughts on the game when we were flying over to the mainland and city of Almeria. The discussion was basically me telling the players a win is a win but against these little teams we need to step it up.

Rodrigo met up with the squad here in Almeria. I told the boys to have a day off and enjoy the sites. Get a little holiday before the opening season. After the Almeria game we have Real Madrid at White Hart Lane and then we fly over the Atlantic to play San Jose Earthquakes. Anyways I am off to enjoy the sites and set my thoughts straight.

Always love a good Spurs story :) Rodrigo absolutely destroys teams 2-3 seasons in on my games, although I've never signed him. Usually ends up at one of the bigger European sides. Good effort so far!

Thanks Guys :)
Our trip in Spain came to its end today as we flew back to dismal old England. Have to say I missed the heat. Being Portuguese you get used to extremely hot training days like I had at Porto. Our game against Almeria was a great one. The players really reacted to my comments on the plane. Also I decided to start Rodrigo. I know it was early but with only a few games before the opening of the season it was essential we got him mixing in with the squad.

Almeria vs Spurs

0-3 FT
Rodrigo 26
Dembele 38
Adebayor 52

Great to get Rodrigo on the score list on his none competitive fixture. It was an excellent slot into the near post after a nice ball from Ade. Looks like those two will be legendary this season for us.

Next game against the infamous Real Madrid. Hoping for a draw but I will be happy as long as we put up a fight.
Loving this story, wonderful writing Inq :)

Great win! Real Madrid is a draw for sure!
Rodrigo is a brilliant player, quality signing Sam. Real Madrid is a guaranteed lost though, they're just too good. ;) Keep up the good updates mate! :)
Nice result, hope you can keep up your form against Madrid :D
We had our game against Real Madrid today and I thought it went well. Before the game I spoke to the players making sure they knew that I was looking for them to at least put up a fight. I wanted to see the teams strength's and weaknesses against top Champions Leagues sides. It could provide an insider to me on who is fit for the hard games, and who we may need to replace. Dependent on our end of the season place on the table.

Not bad in all honesty. We put up a fight and thats what I wanted. It was also equally as good to see Jose he taught me a lot and I will always be thankful for that. Last game of the season against San Jose. Will be a good one to see who is ready to start. Oh and did I say our first game is a derby? Arsenal away! Excited to get one over them. Put them back into place.
Brilliant to see this story going again.

In real life I don't think the real AVB is too thankful, last I heard Jose is not happy with him and vice versa :)$
