A first half to forget with no shots happening on goal. The second half was where the drama really happened. Jason Johnson opening the scoring for Jamaica with a delicate little chip after 58 minutes. It took a full 20 minutes before USA finally got a foothold in this match, Geoff Cameron scoring a screamer from 35 yards. A brace by Clint Dempsey in just 9 minutes of coming on both simple tap ins. A revival from USA saving Bush from certain blushes.

USA got off to a flyer in this match, with Wondolowski finishing off a nicely worked passing movement. DaMarcus Beasley doubled the scores after 11 minutes with a well timed individual effort. Geoff Cameron slide the ball into his own net shortly after before Jermaine Jones was sent off for his second bookable offence, meaning USA had to see out the game with only 1 men. Clint Dempsey had a torrid time in front of goal in the first goal, 5 shots all off target. A brilliant pass from Beasley on the hour mark released Wondolowski to score his second. Clint Dempsey finally found the net for his 30th USA goal after 80 minutes. Despite the numerical disadvantage, USA still managed to double their score. A real triumph. An impressive effort, but could have been better.

Lovely new style of update!

June 16th - Major League Soccer Regular Season

This game saw the return of Brad Evans in midfield since his injury that he picked up late last year, Evans comes in for the injured Alonso. Despite the build up in front of a sell-out crowd, the first half petered out with nothing to shout about, no shots on target for either team. The second half wasn't much of an improvement with only one real opportunity which fell to Eddie Johnson who could only shoot wide. A clean sheet pleases Bush, but he would have liked more an attacking threat.

i think after seeing that kit, i want to go out and get it lol, good run of results with the USA and unluckly with the bore draw , clean sheet is ok but 3 points wud have been better

Thanks! Yeah, need the three points more than anything at the moment, struggling for that wild card place. But my back four from that game got no lower than 7.6 in the ratings, so that's a booster.

Hahnemann Reacts Badly to USA Drop

http://www.bbc.co.uk/southtoday/content/images/2007/08/09/marcus_203_203x152.jpg
Marcus Hahnemann, the 40 year old Seattle keeper, was said to have a bad reaction to being told that he will dropped from the USA set up and that he should consider international retirement.
"I feel it's time that the younger generation come through, USA needs younger keepers" said Bush. "Besides, he is 40. Someone had to tell him he's past it, and i felt that responsibility was now mine"

Many people were completely understanding of this decision, claiming it to be a wise choice in the further development of the US National Team. Hahnemann, on the other hand, had other ideas;
"I was disgusted when he told me, i couldn't believe it"

With Hahnemann playing for the same MLS team that Bush happens to also manage, one would think he won't get much game time there either.

Rosales was finally back from the ever growing Seattle injury list, and was placed on the bench for this game. But it was Kansas who should have taken the lead after poor work from Hutardo let Beiler through but he could only hit the post. It was a first half of little tales, but one where Seattle dominated possession. It was Johnson who finally found the net after a goal mouth scrabble found him open from 5 yards. Waiver drafted Charlie Rugg had a golden opportunity to double the lead but he headed over from close range. Rugg made up for his earlier error finding the net with a 20 yard volley on 84 minutes.Bush labelled this as the performance of the season.
