All the football lovers have waited with very expectation the beggining of the new season. However the supporters who have wait less time for the first competitive match were Porto and Académica's. These teams have played the Portuguese Supercup and the favourites Porto won the cup. With that win Porto had a good start for the season, conquering the first trophy, and later in August, in the 2nd round of the league, they would play home against Sporting.
The first Lions match will be an home game against the eternal rivals Benfica. Then Sporting have the first leg of the Europa League play-off, facing Levski Sofia, the bulgarium champions. After that game, one more hot match in Dragão, Porto home. And finnally, in the end of the month, Sporting will play against Levski at home, the second leg of the play-off.

We haven't got the better teams in our group, and of course that's a positive point, but teams like Levante, Metalist and Red Star Belgrade will also turn the games into hard battlefields abd give everything to win, so I think that will be a very close group, and anyone can get the first two places.

The Lions beat, both of the others title contenders, Benfica and Porto in the first 2 games of the championship, and they are now 3 points ahead of them. That was an unexpected start for Sporting, but it was what happened in all Sporting fans dreams.
Most off all because this first games, the team and fans have now an excellent 'relationship' growing up, and an happy athmosphere around.
The Lions did a great beggining of season but they can't stop now, because the next games are arriving and 3 points difference is very insecure against the rivals, and also Maritimo is doing a great start and got 6 points out of 2 games. Next month we will play Gil Vicente and Olhanense away, and Metalist Marítimo and Rio Ave home.
Some players had a great start of season, but I will consider Wolfswinkel as the best in this month, he scored 5 goals, made 1 assist, and have claimed 1 man of the match, in 3 matches since he doesn't play the last one against Levski.
