Morrell Leaves Wrexham

Andy Morrell today stepped down from his post at Blue Square Bet Conference side Wrexham, where he was the player/manager. Morrell took over as player/manager in 2011 and during his time at The Racehorse Ground, he led them to an FA Cup 3rd round tie against Brighton in the 11/12 season. They narrowly missed out on automatic promotion to Fleetwood during that same season and Morrell vowed to take them back into the Football League. it is a shock as to why he has left the club as he has no contract as a player either, and as the newly debt free Wrexham are facing a fight to get out of the Conference, fans will be wondering as to who will take over at the club. Bookmakers Ladbrokes have released a list for the odds on favourites for the job this morning. Odds for the new Wrexham manager: Micky Mellon 10/1, Phil Brown 14/1, James Heyhoe 17/1.
