Ballack Officially Hired As Leverkusen Manager

A great day for Bayer Leverkusen fans today as club legend Michael Ballack as officially signed for Leverkusen on a one year deal with expected wages of £13,250 p/w. Ballack has had this to say on a statement on the club website.

“I have never been this happy in my life, to become the manager of a club I love means a great deal to me. I loved every moment of my playing career here but I still regret the treble collapse season we put the fans through. I hope I can make it up to the fans in a managerial capacity and even though I am on a one year deal I hope to be here for a very long time to come and to lead Leverkusen to great things in the future.”

Club Overview, History And My Aims

Bayer Leverkusen was founded on the 27th of November 1909. Since then they have not one many trophies and are arguably one of the biggest disappointments is German football. This is a team whose most successful/ well known period is them losing all three trophies in one season (which Ballack was involved in).

Leverkusen have a nice stadium, loyal fans, good facilities, and attract many German born players because despite their lack of trophies they still are a household name.

Squad Overview:

It think I have a nice young squad along side with some experinced heads. So in the coming years this is a squad that can work well together.

Transfer Budget:
£4.43m and £40k p/w wages available.

Board Aims first year:
Qualify for Europe and get to the semi-finals of the German Cup.

My Aims:

1st season: Secure Champions League football

2nd season: Aim for at least 3rd and a cup run. Last 16 of Champions League will be successful.

3rd season: Fight for title and win a cup. Quarter final of Champions League.

4th season: Again fight for title and win the cup again. At least quarter final of the
Champions League again. (If you are wondering why season 3 and 4 are similar is because it will be difficult to progress every year so need one average year!)

5th season: Win title and cup. Semis of the Champions League.
6th-8th seasons: Win the Champions League.

I am hoping to do this by getting some regens and youngsters in. I will be making a rule such as ‘has to have 5 under 23s in my starting 11 etc. But I will be looking to use youngsters.

Jores Okore Signs For Leverkusen

Michael Ballack has taken just three days to dip into the transfer market. He has signed young defender Jores Okore from FC Nordjaelland for £2.1m.

Okore was born in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, in 1992. Okore is considered a capable and aggressive defender, who is calm on the ball and a good reader of the game, with leadership qualities which is exactly what Leverkusen need in their defense this year as Ballack is desperate to sturdy up his back four.

Victor Andrade Signs For A Bargain Fee Of £1m

Today Ballack has completed the steal of the transfer window. The signing of wonderkid Victor Andrade currently plays for Santos and the Brazil under 20's and has tipped by many to become one of the best strikers in the world when he reaches his full potential. He is claimed to have said he is "delighted to join such a popular club and will give his all for Santos to prove to Ballack that he can contend in the 1st team".

Ballack Signs Another Youngster

Ballack has continued his his current buying of youngsters with great potential this morning. It has been confirmed that he has signed Carlos Alberto Carvalho da Silva Junior from Athletic Mineiro for a fee of £1.2m.

Carlos Alberto Carvalho da Silva Junior is the second Brazillian to join in just a matter of days and will join August 2013. Another great signing for the Leverkusen fans who will be content that the future of their football club is in safe hands.

Impressive Pre-Season For Ballack's Leverkusen Leaves Fans Excited For Season

A very impressive pre-season for Bayer Leverkusen which saw them pick up seven wins and just won defeat. It has been a great attacking display in each match and if their form is carried into the season then Leverkusen have a great year to look forward to!
