Haha thanks guys. Bit annoyed because I had got a massive result v Sedan but I feared it would have been knocked back further than two games when I agonisingly saw it shut down so not too bad. Only two matches, lets hope that doesn't cost my season
Ahahah great update mate! Bad luck for your save, but you managed the problem in a wonderful way! ;)

Player of the Month

Jawad Boukabous
(Impressed for youth and reserves at the age of 18 and brought that form with him into the Nantes first team.)

Karemebeu’s Verdict: “Consistency just isn’t with us at the moment but if someone had told me Nantes would be 3rd, level on points with 1st 19 games in then I would take that scenario with both hands.”

MESSI IS WORLD’S BEST

Lionel Messi has bagged his fourth Ballon D’Or in a row, fighting off competition from Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla.

Messi also took home the 2012 World Player of the Year award leaving German Toni Kroos and Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard second and third respectively.

The Argentine has scored 16 goals in 28 games this season with an official FIFA.com average rating of 8.23.

DJORD TAKES GONG

Filip Djordjevic has been announced as the 2012 Ligue 2 Player of the Year.

The FC Nantes hotshot has accumulated an average rating of 7.63 in FIFA.com’s books thanks to 16 goals in as many games.

Djordjevic has been crucial for Les Canaris so far this season and has also become one of the most coveted forwards in Ligue 2.

Christian Karembeu on the night said he had “no words to describe” the Serbian and simply put one thumb up as he posed with the award winner.

BESSAT FORCES MOVE TO RIVALS

FC Nantes winger Vincent Bessat has upset his manager and fans by joining Ligue 2 rivals AS Monaco for £6m on a 5 year contract.

The Frenchman whose contract with Les Canaris expired at the end of the season rejected two contract offers from Nantes, forcing them to sell the winger before he left for free.

Bessat was branded as one of the key players at 3rd placed Nantes by boss Christian Karembeu and has left the former World Cup winner very angry despite only playing 4 times this season due to injury.

“Bessat was one of my star players and we’ve missed him all season so it’s obvious I’m not happy with his departure.

“I wouldn’t be happy if he left under normal circumstances let alone the way he did. To me that screams “greedy”.

“We tried to offer him a new deal twice but he purposely asked for too much saying he wanted £40,000 a week. Can you believe it?! A Ligue 2 winger at the age of 27 asking for £40,000?! This is not a top division player like Ben Arfa, this is Vincent Bessat wanting a move to another Ligue 2 side who are below us.

“Money is ruining football and I’m disappointed that after all we done for Bessat, the injuries he’s had, he forces us to ransom.

“Life goes on however and I feel his valuation was met. He has gone, we’ve been joined by Romulo who is a quality player and we can focus on reinforcing the team in the meantime.”
Unlucky to lose him but now you have a good bit of money to spend

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
There won't be any further updates for a large part of this week unfortunately as I have an upcoming exam. This story will return shortly but while I'm away, I'm counting on you guys for some feedback.

Drop a comment to tell me if your liking the story, what I should look to include/exclude etc. This is my first story so I really want to know how you guys are finding it and how you'd deliver this differently. Ideally, I aim to present my work partially like Glenn & Blue with a personal touch but if you prefer a different way, I'd like to know since I am aware FC Nantes is hardly one of the stories will definitely want to read on here.

So far though, I've been very happy with the support etc. and I've enjoyed the save. This story should be back this week. Thanks again guys.

Next Episode: Who will Nantes sign after losing another key player? Will there be anymore departures? And can Karembeu reignite Nantes form? Haha I don't know WTF I'm saying. Thanks guys!
:(

The 'next episode' part sounds like an awesome trailer :))

Hope to see you back writing soon :)
