November Review

An improvement in results makes us 5th place going into December. The opening game was against Crystal Palace, who to be honest played much better, but we kept Zaha quiet all game which was a major factor of us winning, the game finished 3-2. The goals from Fernando Forestieri twice and Matej Vydra. The next game we dominated in the second half against Bristol City which we won 5-1 a hattrick from Alex Geijo and two from Peguy Luyindula. We then lost to my favourite team Leeds 3-2 at Elland Road, Oscar Lopez scored a fluke and Alex Geijo's goal was a mere consolation. Then we faced at the time 2nd placed Derby County, I was very suprised that we won because we put in such a poor performance but we won 3-2 nevertheless with goals from Alex Geijo twice and John Eustace from the penalty spot. We then ran out 4-1 winners at Peterborough with goals from Sean Murray, Matej Vydra twice and Alex Geijo. We sadly ended the month on a low with a 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

Alex Geijo wins Player of the Month because of his fabulous goalscoring display throughout the month.

December Review

Probably the worst month I am ever going to have at Watford, 1 win out 8 games is not good enough, we started the month brightly but were then brought back to reality by Swansea in the Capital One Cup quarter finals, we then drew against Millwall, but that was ok because Millwall were in the top 6 at the time, then a VERY embarrassing 6-2 loss to Blackburn Rovers and then we went on a run of 3 games lost in a row with 1-0 and 2-0 defeats from Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley and then went onto draw the last two games against Huddersfield Town and Middlesborough. We now find ourselves 8th, 3 points off 6th place.

There was no Player of the Month for December because of the poor quality of effort from all the players this month.
WHAT A MONTH!!!!!!!!!

/sarcasm

Don't worry, probably just bad form. Get the morale back up and push on. Forget the Blackburn result.
Unlucky about December, we all have them occasional months. Keep pushing and get back up the table!

January Review

A much better month, we are in the play-off places (finally) and brought in a few good players in Walter Erviti and Simeon Jackson. So a great debut for Craig Mackail-Smith at Cardiff where we won 2-1 with Mackail-Smith and a Ben Turner own goal helping us to victory. We then got through to the 4th round of the FA Cup after beating Ipswich 3-0 with Forestieri and a Ross Jenkins brace helped us to victory. We then lost to 11th placed Hull City 2-0 which I was unhappy about but we bounced back with a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest with Forestieri and Matej Vydra (2) with the goals sent the Watford fans home happy. We then won 3-1 against Leicester City with Matej Vydra, Alex Geijo and Walter Erviti from a free-kick got the goals to ensure victory. We then got knocked out of the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday which I wasn't too bothered about.

February-March Review

February: It wasn't the best month, but the new signings were gelling together so it was ok. We lost the first 2 games 3-1 with Craig Mackail-Smith scoring for us in both those games. We then won against Charlton Athletic 3-1 with Craig Mackail-Smith scoring from the spot while Matej Vydra and Fernando Forestieri got the other two goals. To be fair, against Barnsley we were down to 10 men and we drew 1-1 with Sean Murray getting our only goal

March: An extremely good month, we went unbeaten throughout it and found ourselves 5th placed at the end of the month. Against Brighton we won 2-1 with Forestieri and Alex Geijo getting our goals. We were 2-0 up against Blackpool but lost our lead which was quite annoying but we did well. Vydra and Forestieri got our goals in this match. We then faced Bristol City who we beat 5-1 in the previous fixture, which we won 3-1 with Alex Geijo, Simeon Jackson and Fernando Forestieri getting our goals. We scraped a 3-2 win against Crystal Palace with Vydra getting two and Alex Geijo getting the eventual winner. We then played my favourite teamin real life, Leeds and felt a bit bad after we beat them 2-0 but I'm all Watford for this save, Simeon Jackson and Forestieri won the game for us.

March a big improvement mate well done!

End of Season Review

WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE, SAY WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!!! We did it! Anyway we'll get to that. So a dominant win against Peterborough which ended 4-0 with Matej Vydra, Simeon Jackson, Alex Geijo and John Eustace getting on the scoresheet. We then moved onto Birmingham City which we won 1-0, Matej Vydra with the winning goal. We then went 3 games lost in a row which was VERY worrying for our play-off hopes losing to Derby (2-0), Wolves (2-1) and Blackburn (2-0) but got a very important 5-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday with Alex Geijo, Matej Vydra and Simeon Jackson with a brilliant hattrick then since we had a great goal difference we edged into the play-offs despite Millwall beating us on the final day. Then came the good bit, we drew with Burnley in the 1st leg of the Play-offs semi-final 2-2 then a SUPERB 6-0 victory which I was very shocked about made us go 8-2 ahead on aggregate and on our way to Wembley. Then we got to the Promised Land after beating Ipswich Town 7-2 which I was ecstatic about! So, the Championship nightmare is over. Next stop, the Premier League!
