Hello again. I’m back with my new story following the loss of FC Nantes. My laptop crashed a few weeks ago and I had to wipe it out. Unfortunately my saves weren’t backed up but here goes a new adventure which I hope will last (fingers crossed). Enjoy!

HILL-WOOD RETIRES

Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has retired due to health reasons.

Hill-Wood will stand down after representing the Arsenal board since 1962, including a 30 year reign as chairman.

The 77 year old will now lead a historic overhaul expected of the club following a 7th successive season without a trophy.

His retirement will end an 84 year spell of Hill-Wood ownership at the North London club after both Samuel and Denis Hill-Wood (Grandfather & Father) were board members at Arsenal.
Good luck with this, Paddy! :D
Nice start. Will be interested to see where this goes. Good luck!
Your 1st story was class so I'm looking forward to this one! Interesting start with the Chairman retiring

NEW ROLES FOR WILSON & WENGER

Arsenal has undergone their biggest restructuring to date following the appointment of Bob Wilson as Chairman and Arsene Wenger as Director.

Wenger now leaves a managerial vacancy at Arsenal who is desperate to bring success to the Emirates as Gunners’ legend Bob Wilson replaces Peter Hill-Wood who retired earlier this week.

The decision is believed to have been fruit of an AST meeting held just days before the end of last season.

The meeting required the appearance of Wenger himself along with Managing Director Ivan Gazidis and majority shareholders Stan Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov.

Arsenal will now begin their search for a new manager with Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, Dutchman Guus Hiddink and former Arsenal captain Tony Adams amongst the favourites.
It's probably Steve Kean :P

VIEIRA SET FOR GUNNERS

Sky sources believe Patrick Vieira is set to be announced as the new Arsenal manager after betting was suspended.

Vieira, who was the last Arsenal player to lift a trophy back in 2005, was spotted by the media in London this week with social networking users claiming to have seen the Frenchman enter London Colney.

The former Arsenal skipper is currently the director of football at Manchester City and is could be set to be announced this week according to Bob Wilson’s comments following his appointment.

“I need to assess our season further and come up with a shortlist of managers. We all have a general idea of candidates and I’m sure the press will know who some of them. There will be a permanent manager in place very soon.”

HENRY RETURNS

Thierry Henry has retired as a football player to become the new Arsenal manager.

The Arsenal legend has been welcomed by his beloved fans and has put pen to paper on a one year deal with the Gunners.

Henry become Arsenal’s leading goalscorer in 2005 when he overcome Ian Wright’s staggering record before moving to Barcelona where he won the treble in 2009.

With a highly decorated trophy cabinet both domestically and internationally, Henry moved to the MLS where he would represent New York Red Bulls.

His period in the U.S. was intersected with an emotional return back to the Emirates on loan in the 2011/12 season where he scored a further 3 goals in over a month.

“I’m over the moon to be here. As a player, managing never really appealed to me but then the Arsenal option emerged – I couldn’t resist.

“I spoke to Arsene and he backed me up on the idea. I’m not just here as a manager or old player, I sit here as and Arsenal fan through and through. I love everything about the club so how could I reject the chance?

We have a big season ahead of us, we got our threshold target in the league and we want a cup at the end of the season. There will be some top teams involved and it will be hard but I can’t wait to get started.”

Patrick Vieira will also join the club as the new director of football after being heavily linked with the job.
Wow good manager choice their mate! I may be a United fan but I have to say he is a legend! :) Good luck

ARSENAL WIN BONY RACE

Thierry Henry has landed his first major signing for Arsenal following the arrival of Wilfried Bony.

The Ivorian striker joins the Gunners from Vitesse Arnhem for a £12.5 million fee, fending off rivals Chelsea and Tottenham.

Bony, who scored 46 goals in 65 games for Vitesse, is touted as Ivory Coast’s replacement for Didier Drogba after establishing himself as a regular in the national team with 18 call-up’s.

MARTINS INDI A GUNNER

Arsenal has completed the transfer of Feyenoord starlet Bruno Martins Indi for £13 milllion.

Martins Indi, who has been capped nine times by the Netherlands, rejected a contract offer from Liverpool to join the ‘Gunners’ on a five year deal.

The Dutch centre half is the third signing Thierry Henry has made this season and demonstrates the close cohesion he and Dennis Bergkamp are having with this being the second major signing from the Eredivisie.

Arsenal followed up the signing with the announcement that Neal Maupay had also agreed terms with the North Londoners and will join from Nice for free.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been granted a move to Arsenal following a transfer request.
The French midfielder signed on a five year deal with Arsenal for £13 million.

Schneiderlin, who has played for Southampton 168 times, was unhappy at St. Mary’s and was given an opportunity by the ‘Saints’ to meet with compatriots Thierry Henry and Arsene Wenger.

The 23 year old is the fifth signing of the season the ‘Gunners’ have made and he is reported to not be the last with the ‘Highburians’ looking to add a final player.
