The tranfers

In just over a few weeks at the club, Steven Gerrard has already brought in what he says will boost the club, and will win the League, and has pointed out that he's still "in discussions for maybe one more new face", however this discussion may be left till January. Here, Sky Sports run through the transfers that Gerrard has overseen so far.

Departures

Stewart Downing - Fulham, £8.75&partexch

The 28-year-old, who has been at Liverpool since 2011, has left Anfield for Fulham for a helpful £8.75Million plus part exchange.

Jordan Henderson - Swansea, loan.

Henderson, signed from Sunderland last season, has been deemed by Gerrard as not having the ability to play in the first team.

Raheem Sterling - Stoke, loan.

Despite being one of the most promising youth players in the Uk at the minute, Gerrard has decided to let Sterling gain some more experience with first team action at Stoke.

Also gone out on loan, is: Kristoffer Peterson, Stephen Sama, Nacho Huertas, Joao Teixeira, Krisztian Adorjan, Daniel Ward, Marc Pelosi,Villyan Bijev, Yalany Baio, Jordan Lussey, Jack Dunn, Ryan Mclaughlin, Adam Morgan, Brad Smith, Henoc Mukendi, Jakob Sokolik, Craig Rodden, Conor Coady, Brad Jones, Andre Wisdom, Suso, John Flanagan, Lloyd Jones and Jack Robinson.

Arrivals

Anthony Gerrard - Huddersfield - £7Million.

Steven Gerrard's cousin Anthony Gerrard signs for Liverpool for £7Million pounds. He is seen as a underestimated player and Steven knows his potential. He will be played, but maybe not first team, first choice constantly.

Will Hughes - Derby - £5.5Million.

Englands most promising young midfielder has signed for 5.5Million pounds from Derby, he is one for the future but still is seen as a part of first team plans and Gerrard's plans.

Kerim Frei - Fulham - Partexch.

Kerim Frei signs as a part of a part exchange deal for Stewart Downing, he is one of the most promising Turkish players and is one for the future at Liverpool.

Some good signings with Frei & Hughes. Something tells me there's a little more than potential in the Anthony Gerrard transfer. Surprised to see you loan out Sterling too.
The signings look good. Not sure about Anthony Gerrard, especially since I didn't even know who was until now. Make sure you play Will Hughes enough. He is excellent.

:O You used the editor on Anthony Gerrard, didn't you? ;)

Pre-season.

Liverpool have an excellent pre-season, most exitingly beating AA Gent 8-0 and Real Madrid 3-0. Steven Gerrard will be looking forward to the first match of the season, which is the Merseyside Derby!

And i changed his potential ability by adding ten on the editor, i was messing about, i was going to do a Huddersfield story, and decided to change it, he is the only one that has been changed :P Also it has added a little extra to the story :)

Martin Tyler: Welcome back to the Premier League season. In this match we'll see the Merseyside Derby, Liverpool & Everton going up against each other - the first clash of the 2012-13 season. Here with us today is one of Liverpool's new manager, Steven Gerrard, best friends, and companion on the pitch for many a years Jamie Carragher.

Everton: Howard; Distin, Baines, Heitinga, Jagielka; Mirallas, Marveoux, Neville, Gibson; Naismith; Jelavic

Martin Tyler: Injuries to Daniel Agger and the manager Steven Gerrard means Anothony Gerrard and Will Hughes, two of the 3 new transfers, has to fill in at centre-back, and centre-mid. Kelly and Enrique start either side of the defence, and Lucas and Jonjo Shelvey join Will Hughes and start in the heart of midfield. Sturridge and Coutinho will support Luis Suarez who'll shepherd of the Liverpool attack today. Meanwhile, Everton are without Fellaini in the centre of the midfield, after loosing him to Tottenham, controlling the game, Now without further ado, let's get to the match.

1' - We welcome you to Anfield, the ground for our first clash of the 2012-13 season: Liverpool Vs Everton, The Merseyside Derby! It is also the debut of Steven Gerrard as a player/manager and everyone will be interested to see how his Scouser side plays.

3' - An excellent cross from Baines from the corner .

4' - GOAL Darren Gibson found the space to head the ball into the bottom corner of the net, and excellent header, what a start for the blue side of Merseyside, 1-0 Everton.

11' - Sturridge runs up the wing after a long pass from Johnson, and he's still running, he shoots, but it goes over.

21' - Liverpool are physical struggling so far, maybe they are just warming up their tyres.

24' - Lucas Leiva slides Kevin Mirallas, oooh, that was nasty. Yellow card for Lucas.

30' - Wait, Hughes sends a through ball and it meets Suarez, Suarez has some space here, hes still running, and he blasts it, straight past Tim Howard.
30' GOAL Suarez beats Tim Howard, 1-1.

38' - An excellent cross from Coutinho on the wing from a corner meets Anthony Gerrards head.
38' - GOAL Anthony Gerrard, the cousin of the manager Steven Gerrard, has scored from a header on his debut.

45' - HT: Liverpool 2 - 1 Everton. It has been a good half for Liverpool and quite an exciting match so far, lets see more goals in the next half.

45' - We continue the second half, with no changes made on either side.

89' - Another corner for Liverpool, and again it meets Anthony Gerrards head, but it goes over the bar, unlucky for the underdog.

90' - FT: Liverpool 2 - 1 Everton. The second half didnt bring more goals and was more of a bore! Steven Gerrard must be very happy with his debut, I think the Liverpool fans are too!
