Two wonderful signings, they'll be star performers :)
Okikos: Right wing. I almost always use 4-2-3-1 with big clubs.

Justice: Thanks mate :) I'm hoping so too!

Pellegrini Set For The Etihad?

Social media sites and media sources from around the world have gone into overdrive after it was revealed that Manuel Pellegrini had been seen boarding a plane from Malaga Airport, thought to be heading for Manchester, and specifically, the team Pellegrini has been linked to joining since the sacking of Roberto Mancini at the end of last season.

City have already signed two players this summer, Jesus Navas from Sevilla, and Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk, who are both players that Pellegrini is known to be a big admirer of. Seeing as both signings were made whilst City were still without a manager, it seems like they could have been the signings of a man soon to be appointed, and this further fueled speculation that Pellegrini was being lined up to join the Manchester club. However, it could just be that City were trying to begin the extensive process of strengthening the squad, and bought these two players are as they knew they were both available and would improve the quality of the team.

If these rumours are confirmed to be true, then Pellegrini is expected to be given a tour of the training ground tomorrow, and given the chance to meet the players and the backroom staff over the next couple of days, before putting pen-to-paper on his contract later this week. As we know, Mancini's biggest problem last season was that he often struggled to get along with the staff at City, particularly the players, meaning they often didn't play right, leading to the trophyless campaign for City. So, letting Pellegrini meet the players and staff will give him the chance to see if they're right for him, and if he is right for the club.

The general reception to Pellegrini from Manchester City fans has been good, despite him never having won much as a manager. He is perhaps best known for the time he has spent as a manager in Spain, with Vilarreal, Real Madrid, and Malaga. His greatest success out of this trio of clubs perhaps came with Vilarreal, with whom he reached the Champions League semi-finals with, before being knocked out after a 1-0 aggregate loss to Arsenal, the eventual runners-up. After this, Pellegrini spent a season in charge of Real Madrid, and despite not winning any trophies, did bring Christiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu from Manchester United, so obviously knows the right transfers to make. Last season, he was with Malaga CF, and took the team to the Champions League quarter-finals, this time losing out to Borussia Dortmund, who were the eventual runners-up in Munich. Many City fans are hoping he can replicate these European successes at the Etihad, as well as bringing domestic silverware too.

It is thought to be a few days before these rumours will be confirmed, if they are true, but many seem to think they are, with odds becoming ever smaller with some bookmakers. Currently, some bookmakers are pricing Pellegrini's appointment at 1-50, meaning they seriously expect him to be named within a few days. However, this is football, and anything can happen. You never know, we could even end up with someone else managing City next year, not Pellegrini.
I vote Otto Rehagel for manager, lol
Hire Roy Keane!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
The Special One: You don't get a say :P

BeanyUnited: I need the players to be able to understand what the manager is saying...

damn :P
City! Back to square one, huh? :P Fernandinho and Yaya Toure will tear the Prem apart along with that forward line! Do you think any of the current City youth will ever be a first teamer? Suarez, Rekik etc..

Pellegrini Joins Twente

Manchester City target Manuel Pellegrini has shocked the football world by joining FC Twente instead of making his highly-anticipated move to the Etihad, to manage in the Eredivisie instead. Many had expected him to join the Blues instead, having been the hot favourite since Mancini was sacked last season. But it seems the chance to play in Holland's top flight has more of an allure to it than managing in the Premier League, often thought of as the biggest league in the world.

Most people thought that Pellegrini's appointment with the Citizens was just a few days away after he was seen boarding a plane, supposedly to Manchester Airport from Malaga Airport yesterday morning, but we can now reveal that the flight Pellegrini boarded was to Enschede Airport instead, as the schedule had been delayed due to fog.

A lot of pundits are regarding this as a step-down in Pellegrini's career, after the stature of the previous clubs he has managed in his career. It was just three years ago that Pellegrini left his post as Real Madrid's manager, after being unable to win any trophies with Los Galacticos, despite spending £200m on just four players in his solitary season. Late in 2010, he joined Malaga, replacing Jesualdo Ferreira, who was sacked. In his first full season he managed to finish 4th in La Liga with Malaga, taking them into the Champions League qualifiers, which they won, and eventually ended up taking them to the quarter-finals where they were knocked out.

Understandably, the FC Twente fans are ecstatic about getting a manager of Pellegrini's calibre, and fully expect him to be able to make them challenge on the domestic front once again. Pellegrini has been given a deal of around £9.5k per week, until the end of the 2015-16 season. Manchester City fans are also very disappointed that they missed out on their number one target, and expressed their annoyance at having to begin the search for a new manager again. They are now expected to approach their second-choice target, Jupp Heynckes, who left Bayern Munich after winning the treble last season. He has expressed his desire to retire soon, but may well have one last job left in him.
Arvind: Yeah, I always like to focus on youth, although sometimes I have to buy them first. I might even have done that here!
