Capital One Cup 4th Round Draw
We have been drawn at home to Everton in the fourth round of the C1C, which will be a more difficult encounter than Reading was, who we beat with relative ease in our last match. I fielded an entirely new 11, and still came away with the win, so a good day overall. Some of the more fringe squad players came in and made a good impression on me, and I’ll look for ways to give them more opportunities in the near future.

City 3-0 West Brom – Premier League – 29.9.2013

City (4-5-1): Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Dede, Baines, Toure, Milner, Fernandinho, Navas, Nasri, Aguero

Missed Penalties: Brunt (West Brom, 63 mins), Yacob (West Brom, 77)

Goals: Nasri (8), Dede (22, 73)

MOTM: Dede (City)

Monthly Review
Another good month overall. We had a lot more games this month, especially condensed towards the end, but we handled it well, especially the squad rotation purposes. We fielded an entirely new team in the Capital One Cup, and still came away with a good victory. We also did very well in the league, picking up wins in all our games, however we did have to grind out results at times. I look forward to another successful month in October.

League Tables

We've managed to move two points clear at the top of the table, after we remained the only side to have won all their games. I am finding it amusing that United are down in fifth, and below Stoke, after defeats to Aston Villa at Old Trafford, and Spurs at White Hart Lane, left them stunned an pointless.

We're also top of our Champions League group, although only after one game, that small win in Salzburg putting us top after Zenit and Porto drew 2-2. The picture could all change however, as we face Zenit in Russia as our first game in October, with Arsenal at the Emirates a few days later, meaning it could be a tough start for us.
Fantastic results mate, you should win the league with ease! :D

All wins! Nice
The Madridista: I'm certainly hoping so!

KingPadster: I know :D
Great start! 4-5-1 is a great formation but with the sort of players that City have it seems like a waste of creativity :P
Okikos: It's a Tika-Taka formation, it's perfect
You have my support! ;)

Dickov Wins Manager of the Month

Paul Dickov has sent out the biggest answer to his critics in his City career so far, after claiming the Barclays Manager of the Month award for September, after just missing out on the award for August, losing out to Chelsea's Jose Mourinho in the first two games of the season.

In September though, it has been continued success for Dickov and his team. City won both their games in August, both in the Premier League, and continued this good form into September, winning all games on the domestic and the international front.

Dickov's month started off with a routine 3-0 away win against newly-promoted Crystal Palace, before the two week international break. After all the players had returned from their ventures with their national sides, it was back to Premier League action for City, facing Hull City at the Etihad, also recently promoted. Robbie Brady was sent off as Aguero netted a double in another 3-0 win for the Blues. The next league game for City was their first real test of the season, away to Newcastle United. It was a struggle for City to pick up the three points, but eventually they did thanks to a late goal from Samir Nasri. City's next, and final league game of the month, was at home to West Bromwich Albion, which should have been an easy victory for the Citizens, however Albion did miss two penalties against Joe Hart, and this proved costly, as City managed to win 3-0, this time with a double from Dede.

In other competitions, City also managed to win all their games. In the Champions League, City faced their first group match, away to the underdogs of the group, Red Bull Salzburg. The Blues managed to pick up the win, thanks to an early goal by Jesus Navas, but should really have won by more, given the domination City had throughout the match. In their second non-league game of the month, City faced relegated Reading in the Capital One Cup, looking to secure their passage to the fourth round. A double from Argentine Carlos Tevez sealed the 2-1 victory as the Royals were knocked out.

City's fantastic form in the league has also led to them heading two points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League table. City, Tottenham, and Manchester United were all on the same points after four games of the season, but two successive losses for United (at home to Aston Villa, then away to Tottenham) left them six points adrift, whilst a loss for Spurs at Chelsea left them three behind the Blues. Chelsea had a game in hand throughout the month, and having now played and won that match, sit just two points behind City, with only a 3-3 draw with Villa during September preventing Chelsea from being on equal points with the Citizens.

So, four wins for the Blues, along with being two points clear at the top of the table at this early stage in the season, has managed to put the seal on a Manager of the Month award for Scottish manager Dickov. Whilst many are predicting this to be the first of many for the former Arsenal player, some are still proclaiming this to be a honeymoon period, and City will soon start to decline. The next couple of months could be very important in City's title challenge, although October shouldn't be a particularly challenging month for the Blues, with just three league games. However, the first of that trio is away to Arsenal, in City's sternest test of their title credentials as it stands.
Sonalexwild: Thanks Alex :)
Here's to at least four more MotM for the rest of the year! :P
Meh, critics won't be happy until Manchester is blue :P
neal09: Again, certainly hoping so!

Okikos: You have any idea how much time, effort and money it would physically take to paint Manchester blue? :P
Well, money is already no object :P
A brilliant start to the season and some good signings....and as always, some amazing writing :)

Hope you stick with it mate!
