RIJKAARD AT SPORTING HELM

Frank Rijkaard has made a sensational return to football after agreeing to manage Sporting Lisbon.

President Bruno de Carvalho struck a deal with the Dutchman who signs a 1 year deal and takes over the falling giants.

Rijkaard’s first task will be to keep hold of vital players such as Diego Capel who’s linked with rival Porto as the Lisbon club aim to start their road to recovery.

Rijkaard is no stranger to Sporting having signed for them as a player from Ajax in 1987, only to not be registered in time and then loaned out to Zaragoza.

Rijkaard left the following season and was reportedly close to becoming Sporting manager back in 2011 before Domingos Paciencia’s appointment.
This is the manager I presume - If so, good choice
Great, great player. Good luck! :) Will obviously be following this.

RICKY A CANARY

Ricky Van Wolfswinkel has joined Norwich City for a fee of £10 million following the completion of preliminary discussions.

The Dutchman who topped Sporting’s goalscorer’s list last season had already agreed terms back in early 2012 and the former Utrecht striker is now free to join his new team mates.

Despite Van Wolfwinkel’s goal tally, the 23 year old was never a fan favourite as he was often criticised for his inconsistency and lack of strength.

As one Dutchman enters, another leaves and manager Frank Rijkaard now begins the search for a new striker.

Rijkaard’s only strikers at the moment are all under the age of 19 other than Indian talisman, Sunil Chhetri who was signed purposely for Sporting B.
Great story looking forward to reading more!

SPORTING SIGN DUO

Sporting has completed the signing of Atletico Madrid’s Pizzi and Estoril’s Diego Rocha.

Pizzi was out of favour at Los Colchoneros and joins Sporting for £950k on a 4 year deal.

The Portuguese winger is hopeful a spell in the Portuguese league can earn him the recognition to get him into Portugal’s World Cup 2014 squad.

Brazilian forward Diego Rocha has also been signed for just £300k. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season and now signs a 5 year deal with Sporting

The Brazilian is a heavy candidate to fill the void up front following Ricky Van Wolfswinkel’s move to Norwich City.
Good signings there mate.
