Only one game this month and he was the main man in it. A huge game and Schaars smashed in two free kicks to win us the derby.

A tough first game of the season to be thrown into but we played very well against a top side and start the season in perfect fashion. There is nothing better than beating a rival.

P.S. The last time Sporting beat a rival on the first day, we won the league. This was back in 2002 versus Porto and coincidently the score was 2-0.

6 goals this month and what a start he has had to his Sporting career. He’s looking like a bargain and a bit of an unusual aerial threat.

A fantastic month for us as we faced some of the top teams in the league. We won them all and find ourselves top and yet to concede. We can really use that to our advantage I feel and begin to attack the league.
