I could not find a normal FourFourTwo logo, but i don't think it'll matter too much

Town Crash Out Of Another Cup

Swindon suffered yet another defeat in the first round of a cup competition, as they bowed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy 3-2 against Bristol Rovers.

With both teams favourites for promotions in their respective leagues, one would have expected Town to emerge on top even if it was an away encounter. But for Abbott's men, this wasn't to be.

Andre Wisdom but the Robins in front with a well timed header after just 2 minutes, before Martin Gleeson equalised on the half hour mark. Not long after Jermaine O'Hagan gave the Pirates a lead going into the half-time interval. Stern words must have been said in the dressing room, because Abbott's boys came out with a renowned passion to win. Swindon dominated much of the second half, yet it took till 78 minutes to force an equaliser, Paul Caddis popping up in the right place at the right time. The game looked certain to be heading for penalties, before Jermaine O'Hagan was once again set loose in the penalty area, finding the net with a low, hard effort. With the little time left, Swindon could barely fashion another chance on goal and had to say goodbye to the competition many fans had hoped of winning this season.

"It's disappointing obviously" Said manager Abbott. "But we'll get by, there is always the FA cup to put together a little cup run, but for now our priority is getting promoted. That's not to say that I don't want to put together a cup run, it's just the league is more important."

Managers Of Recent Years; Is Abbott The Right Man?

As Abbott is set to embark on his third month in his return to the County Ground, we look back at the managers in this decade and whether Abbott was the right choice to bring back.

Danny Wilson (2008-20110

Most Notable Achievement - Taking Swindon to the play-off final, where they narrowly lost to a (cheating) Millwall side.
Best Transfer - Charlie Austin. The prolific striker, now 30, has gone on to play for Premier League sides; Southampton, Norwich and Wolves.
Worst Transfer - Frank Nouble. Despite only being on loan, he never really impressed for Swindon.
Reasons For Leaving - Resigned.
Where Is He Now? - The Irishman currently manages Championship side, Leicester.
Should We Have Had Him Back? - With only one season of success to boast, it was best that we didn't get in contact with him.

Paul Hart (2011-2011)

Most Notable Achievement - You can't class it as an 'achievement' but he got Swindon relegated, finishing bottom of the league.
Best Transfer - Mike Grella.
Worst Transfer - Elliott Benyon.
Reasons For Leaving - Sacked.
Where Is He Now? - Retired from football.
Should We Have Had Him Back? - Absolutely not.

Paolo Di Canio (2011-2012)

Most Notable Achievement - He took Swindon to League 2 champions, and managed to beat Wigan in the FA Cup.
Best Transfer - Alan McCormack. Signed on a free from Charlton, the 35 is currently a free agent after being released by Kidderminster.
Worst Transfer - Alberto Comazzi. The Italian seemed promising, but only played a handful of games, getting sent off twice.
Reasons For Leaving - Left.
Where Is He Now? - The Italian currently manages Bristol City.
Should We Have Had Him Back? - League 2 winners is certainly something to boast, so yes we should have got him back.

Daniel Abbott (2012-2014)

Most Notable Achievement - Taking Swindon from League 1 to the Championship in his first season.
Best Transfer - Rory Donnelly. The midfielder from Swansea contributed quite a lot of goals, and is currently playing for Bristol City.
Worst Transfer - Lauri Dalla Valle.
Reasons For Leaving - Left for Brighton.
Where Is He Now? -Back at the Club.
Should We Have Had Him Back? - He looked promising in his first season, but it was rather disappointing that he left for another team in the same division. But yes, I think it's good to give him another go.

Phil Brown (2014-2018)

Most Notable Achievement - After Swindon were relegated from the Championship in 2014, he took them straight back up, winning the league in the process.
Best Transfer - Jaime O'Hara. Now 32, the midfielder/left back put in good performances at the club.
Worst Transfer - Jack King. Signed for a free, but never actually started a game, then left.
Reasons For Leaving - Sacked.
Where Is He Now? - Burnley.
Should We Have Had Him Back? - He ran his course over the 4 years, and as he was the one to get sacked, I doubt we wanted him back.

I've been a poster on here for many-a-year now, but I don't think I have ever commented on match performances. So allow to share my feelings about this season so far;
CCCCCCCCCCCCCMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Right, now that's over I explain what I mean to the more literate readers. We have reached the end of October, and we are still yet to lose a game with only three draws. If that still doesn't make it clearer, in the last 6 games we've scored 18 goals. That's three goals a game! We've only conceded 19 goals since the beginning of the season. Still not enough to show you how well we're doing? We're 9 points clear at the top ALL READY.

Yes we've been knocked out of 2 cups so far at ridiculously early rounds, but I don't really care about that. As long as we come away with League 1 silverware this season, i'll be grinning from ear to ear.

And with that post. I am off.
