January 2017
West Brom 4 - 2 Everton
Between fatigue, international callups, and right wingers gifting West Brom shots on goal with bad passes, it was just a terrible outing.
Player of the Match: Shane Long (West Brom)
FA Cup Third Round
Everton 2 - 0 Swindon
As well as Everton played, Swindon should feel lucky to only lose by two goals.
Player of the Match: Gianluca Caprari (Everton)
Injury Update: Panagiotis Tachtsidis suffered a twisted knee and will miss 3-4 weeks.
Everton 1 - 0 Chelsea
Everton wins it for Everton with an 89th minute goal! He headed in a corner kick that provided the shock victory over Chelsea! It was surprising that the game was so low scoring since both teams only had three defenders and no wing backs.
Player of the Match: John Stones (Everton)
Ipswich 0 - 3 Everton
Ipswich was just Ipswich today, helpless as Manolo Gabbiadini broke through for two goals and servicing Rob Reddy for Everton's third goal.
Player of the Match: Manolo Gabbiadini (Everton)
January 11: Senne Schoeters suffers a twisted knee and will be out 2-3 weeks.
FA Cup 4th Round
Hull 1 - 3 Everton
Leon Mason ran the show today, picking up two goals and sending Rob Reddy through for a third.
Player of the Match: Leon Mason (Everton)
Newcastle 1 - 3 Everton
Gabbiadini had two goals by the 9th minute, but was shut out for the rest of the game. It was enough of an impact to win the game, however. Leon Mason added a third goal to seal it. He was intended to be a winger but is excelling at deep lying forward where he is playing due to injuries.
Player of the Match: Manolo Gabbiadini (Everton)
Injury Update: Leon Mason suffered a twisted knee and will miss 2-3 weeks.
Everton 2 - 1 Arsenal
Despite starting a 17 year old kid as one of my center backs, despite the team overall being tired, despite Manolo Gabbiadini being worn down and forced to sub out, and despite Nicola Leali almost gifting Theo Walcott the equalizer, we beat Arsenal!
Player of the Match: Olivier Giroud (Arsenal), for his fantastic effort in tying up the score at 1-1.
Transfers
In
- Nicusor Stanciu from Chelsea on a Bosman. He will join on July 1, 2017.
- Paul Bamba from AJ Auxerre on a Bosman. He will join on July 1, 2017.
- Loic Hourcade from Girondins Bordeaux on his first professional contract. He will join on July 1, 2017.
- Erik Lamela from Valencia for 15.75 million. Sometimes you gotta splash the cash.
- Enzo Phillipe has been signed from PSG for 1.7 million.
Out
- Neal Maupay to West Ham for 5 million. Nice profit off of a free transfer, and he wasn't going to be breaking in to the first eleven any time soon.
- Ryan Bertrand to Reading for 4 million. With our new system, he wasn't seeing the field, and he's not good enough at left winger to crack the first eleven there. Plus, he's approaching 30.
- Vladimir Balic to Sheff Wed on loan until the end of the season for first-team football.
- Isaac Cuenca to Ipswich for 1.5 million, with Everton obliged to pay him 18,250 p/w until the expiry of his old contract in June 2018.
Premier League Table
IF our run of form keeps up, and Erik Lamela provides a boost from the right wing, we will have a chance at continental football next season!
