June Transfers

In
- Center midfielder Pituca from Flamengo for 825K, which activated his release clause. He will join next season, and since he has a conditional work permit, be allowed to play as soon as he joins.

Out
- Leon Mason to Stoke for 6.75M. He wasn't being used and was valued at 3.1M so this was way too good to pass up! In addition, since we got him on a free, it's all profit!

July 1 Squad

Here's what we're working with:
Well you have a big squad...
Nice work on the UCL place, considering Everton were on the verge of the Championship when you took over. You're squad is pretty massive and I think it's funny because you have a Brazilian player called Everton :P Keep it up

lwalter66: Of course, that's why I signed him! (And he's very good, too.)

Both of you: Yeah, I have a big squad, I sign a lot of prospects so I can build a squad without having to pay high transfer fees, and because players just don't pan out, get ruined by injuries, or don't turn out to be as good as advertised, and I have a bunch of junk youth players to fill out the U18 squad.

I can understand why you did that, I noticed during the monthly updates that you were just piling in the Brazilian teens, and in a short amount of time your team will be overflowing with them having reached full potential, and maybe even offloading some for huge fees.

Preseason Friendlies 2018

GF 38 0 - 3 Everton
Everton had 3 goals and easily could have had more. Manolo Gabbiadini asserted himself with a brace, and the team looked great in attack and defense. Of course, GF 38 is just a third division French team, but I'm confident Everton can perform against much tougher opposition.
Player of the Match: Manolo Gabbiadini (Everton)

AS Beauvais Oise 1 - 1 Everton
Everton dominated possession but couldn't generate as many chances, and the ones they did generate they couldn't make count. Fininho took the lead with a nice shot from outside the box. Oise equalized with a lucky early cross going into the net. Fininho had a great chance for a second goal but skied it way over the net.
Player of the Match: Nikao (Everton)
Injury Update: Defensive midfielder Paco suffered a torn calf muscle and will be out 3-4 months.

Partizan 1 - 3 Everton
Everton enjoyed almost total domination of Partizan. Nicusor Stanciu picked up a brace, and Partizan's only eventful moments were a goal disallowed for offside and a consolation goal late.
Player of the Match: Nicusor Stanciu (Everton)

Crewe Alexandria 1 - 7 Everton
Everton made Crewe's net bulge numerous times, scoring a lucky seven goals. Crewe had no answer to all of Everton's talent.
Player of the Match: Manolo Gabbiadini (Everton)

Everton have been drawn against Fenerbahce in the Champions League Best Placed Playoff. Fenerbahce has been drawn as the home team.

Bursaspor 2 - 0 Everton
Despite having much less of the ball and fewer chances than Everton, Bursaspor did way more with what they had. Everton had Shun Kawai's apparent goal poaching the rebound of Gabbiadini's free kick disallowed due to offside, a ruling the media criticized. Bursaspor's first goal was a tap in off a low cross to the six, and Bursaspor's second goal indirectly came off a free kick. If this is how we play in Turkey, we're going to have a time of it in the Best Placed Playoff.
Player of the Match: Anderson Talisca (Bursaspor)

Champions League Squad

Here's the squad for the Champions League. I have numerous young players so I should have plenty of depth.

Transfers

In
- Ismaily's center back Tarek Said has been granted a work permit and will join Everton on a free transfer in December.
- Atletico Paranaense's defender Rodrigao has signed with Everton for 1.3M. He hasn't been granted a work permit, and will join on July 9, 2019.
- Everton have splashed the cash and have activated Serge Ribes's release clause from Hull for 19.25M. Ribas had been a thorn in Everton's side and we are glad to have beaten out FC Bayern for his services.
- Everton have purchased striker Batata from Sao Paulo for 900,000, which activated his release clause. Amazingly, Manchester United didn't exercise their right of first refusal. He will join the club next year.

August 2018

Chelsea 1 - 0 Everton
Both teams played pretty equally, except Chelsea had way more fouls, and Aubameyang sent a low cross to De Bruyne who scored the game winner. Gabbiadini looked to be the supersub for Everton but missed so many big chances.
Player of the Match: Marco Capuano (Chelsea)

Champions League Best Placed Playoff
First Leg: Fenerbahce 2 - 3 Everton
Usually with matches between opponents who don't know each other very well, there tends to be a feeling out process. Not so here, as both teams threw many punches at each other. Everton got off on a flyer with Viktor Fischer's first minute goal, and went into the half leading 2-1. Fenerbahce challenged Everton on long throw setpieces, scoring a goal and threatening another. After a bad team talk by me, Fenerbahce controlled the second half, scoring an equalizer, but Manolo Gabbiadini scored the late winner to give Everton a small advantage leading into the second leg, played at Goodison Park.
Player of the Match: Manolo Gabbiadini (Everton)

Everton 2 - 0 Newcastle
It was the back end who taught Everton's new strikers how to finish, with Rafael Rivas taking the lead with a header off a free kick, and Rob Reddy scoring a penalty after Jay Spearing clipped Gabbiadini's heels in the box. Newcastle's attack was thoroughly neutralized, with our defense only allowing them 1 shot on goal.
Player of the Match: Rob Reddy (Everton)

Champions League Best Placed Playoff
Second Leg: Everton 2 - 1 Fenerbahce
Everton 5 - 3 Fenerbahce on aggregate
The stats say it should have been so much more. The wingers did the work as first Viktor Fischer took the ball wide, then cut inside and beat his man, firing a powerful finish to make it 4-2. Then George Green put in a powerful finish of his own to give Everton a three goal lead at halftime. With only a quarter of the two-legged tie left, Fenerbahce finally threatened, with Salih Ucan poaching a goal off of Rafael Rivas' missed interception, and another Fenerbahce goal being disallowed for offsides.
Player of the Match: Rafael Rivas (Everton)

Tottenham made the most splashy signings of the transfer window, picking up Borini and Ozil.

Yeah, Feyenoord won the Eredivisie!
Tough group, unlucky.

September 2018

Derby 1 - 5 Everton
Everton supporters can finally take last season's 4-1 thrashing by Derby out of their mouths! Even though Derby is a lesser team, it was a great performance for Everton to score 5 goals against them. Viktor Fischer was the man of the match, scoring two goals. Manolo Gabbiadini also had a goal and two assists. Shun Kawai had a goal before being substituted due to an injury.
Player of the Match: Viktor Fischer (Everton)
Injury Update: Shun Kawai will miss three weeks with a twisted ankle. Hopefully he'll be back by the Champions League match against PSG.

George Green suffered a sports hernia in training and will miss 4 weeks.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 2 Everton
On any other day, Everton would have comfortably won this game, due to goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey's incredible play, making many amazing saves as Everton kept banging on the door. Indeed, Everton were lucky to secure a draw after falling 2 behind early. Fininho looked to have a winner in stoppage time, but it wasn't to be.
Player of the Match: Wayne Hennessey (Wolves)

Champions League Group F
Everton 1 - 3 Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain's red might have convinced the average fan that the minions of Hell had converged upon Goodison Park, but even worse, it was Manolo Gabbiadini's fellow Italian striker, Mattia Destro, who dominated the game with a brace. Gabbiadini pulled one back for Everton, and they looked to come back into it, but substitute defender Renato Dell'Oglio committed a questionable penalty call, giving Romelu Lukaku the goal that put it away on a penalty. Nathan Limior was warned by UEFA after going off on the officials for the penalty call.
Player of the Match: Mattia Destro (Paris Saint-Germain)

Everton 0 - 3 Manchester United
This time Manchester United blew us out of the park with setpieces, with goals indirectly and directly coming off free kicks.
Player of the Match: Alvaro Vadillo (Manchester United)

Capital One Cup 3rd Round
Everton 2 - 0 Arsenal
It's tough to get shots past world-class keeper Wojciech Sczcesny, but it's tougher for even someone like him to save a penalty, which he didn't do when Aaron Ramsey conceded a penalty which Manolo Gabbiadini scored for his 100th goal for Everton across all competitions. Arsenal fans may have felt hard done by the referee, as both Lorenzo Crisetig and Neymar both had goals disallowed for being offside. Shun Kawai poached Gabbiadini's rebound to seal the win for Everton, knocking Arsenal out of the Capital One cup two years running.
Player of the Match: Manolo Gabbiadini (Everton)
Injury Update: Unfortunately, Everton paid the price for this victory, losing Rob Reddy for 2-3 months to a torn hamstring, and Shun Kawai for 5-6 weeks to a broken arm. Losing Reddy is huge since we don't really have a box to box who can compare to him.

Everton 2 - "2" Arsenal
A game that Everton looked to win was stolen by the officials when Neymar's first goal was inexplicably allowed despite being blatantly offside. Neymar scored his "second" (first) goal shortly after, stealing two points away from Everton, and the fans voiced their displeasure.
Player of the Match: Keiichi Sakamoto (Everton)

Premier League Table

We're exactly .500 with 2 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws, but there's still 32 games left to get things back on track.

Champions League Group Stage

We're also not doing so not here, but it's one game. The margin for error is obviously much thinner here, so we need to get it together.
I lover your update style mate... top stuff. Keep it up
