Walsall sign Michael Chopra

Today news out of Walsall Football Club is that they have agreed a fee with Ipswich for striker Michael Chopra, the fee is to around the £350,000 mark.

Michael Chopra has said he relished the move to The Banks's Stadium and is looking forward to playing for a well-sported club(is he deluded on crack??). He has also said he hopes he can get his form back to the way it was for ex club Cardiff City, I feel I will benefit from dropping down a league and finding my feet and making my way back into the Championship, and I hope my own and fellow striker Johnny Russells goals will help Walsall move into the Championship.

Craig Blick has expressed his delight in signing this ex-Premier League striker to the club, "I brought Michael to this club because I feel he can get this club back into the Championship again, and he is a natural goalscorer as you could see for the likes of Ipswich and Cardiff! I'm going to hold a club meeting with fans and get their views on the new signing! I feel its all going to be positive!

Michael Chopra's Stats

Is this the end for Will Grigg??

Alot of people inside and outside of Walsall Football Club have been saying since the signing of Michael Chopra, could this be the end of Will Griggs Walsall career, with Grigg being outcasted by the manager since his outburst on Twitter and publicly coming out with this attitude in training and threatening players and staff, could it be time for Will Grigg to finally move away from Banks's Stadium.

We had a poll from Walsall players on our site:

Should Will Grigg leave Walsall FC
Yes - 79%
No - 21%

As this poll shows most of the Walsall fans think that its about time Walsall manager Craig Blick ousted out controversial striker Will Grigg from the club as its going to damage the clubs hopes of making the play-offs this season.

One fan said, Will[Grigg] needs to leave this club for his career to carry on else he will end up playing in the lower leagues in the future, even if its a loan move away from the club then I will be happy with this as it will get rid of him and his attitude from this club. Why should we offer a player like Will a longer contract with his attitude ruining the great morale at the club.

One young fan has said, "I want Griggy to stay at this club as he is my favourite player at Walsall FC, Every player wants to play for his club, I would love to play for Walsall FC in the future if I ever got chance too, But because of whats happening I feel that attitude towards our manager and other players isn't great for the fans or football club.

Great signing with Chopra, he'll be a great improvement over Griggs! :)

Grigg joins Tamworth

Walsall announce today that controversial striker Will Grigg has joined feeder club Tamworth on loan til the end of the season, to finally get his wish of first-team football,

Will Grigg said in a interview with Walsall Player" I will be leaving Walsall FC today to join up with feeder club Tamworth, I am glad I will be getting first-team action at the club as I've fallen out of favour with my current club, maybe if I have a good season and have a good pre-season I may get a call up back into the Walsall squad, but if I don't I will put in a transfer request and look to move away from this club, as I have the ambition to be a first-teamer for Northern Ireland as I haven't been included in the lastest squad due to me not having the action I need

Craig Blick has said, "I have agreed to let Will join out feeder club to give him the chance of first-team action as he won't be getting any here because of his attitude, so I held discussions with the Chairman and Manager of Tamworth to let him join, which they gladly accepted as they need quality upfront.

Player Of The Month Award

Michael Chopra

Michael Chopra has won this award, his has scored 4 goals in 2 games for me this month, and he and Johnny Russell have played excellent together, I think he can win alot more awards til the end of the season.

MERSE'S VIEW

I have been following my old club Walsall F.C this season and seeing how the new manager will be able to cope with the situation of working under Jeff Bonser, I worked under him when I was Walsall manager a few years ago, it was very hard work as I had to work on a very small budget, so I was looking at the test of Craig's start of managerial life.

Luckily for him that Sir Alan Sugar brought the club just before the start of the season, which gave him plenty of money to spend to get Walsall out of SkyBet League One, I have been looking at what players he has been interested in and the signing of striker Johnny Russell from Dundee United was a big coup for this little midlands club, He has been prolific for Walsall this season scoring 15 goals so far this season in his debut season in League One. Also the new capture of fellow striker Michael Chopra to bring in the experience in higher league with Newcastle, and playing for newly promoted Cardiff City.

I have seen that Walsall have just beaten Carlisle in a tight game, It now sees them sitting in 7th place in League One and only one point away from the SkyBet League One playoffs, I think they have what it takes to play with the big boys in the top 6 and I really think that they can win the play-offs and go back into the Championship, I think they will also need to let go of deadwood and a few players as he has a big squad since signing so many players to bolster his squad for this season.

I think the capture of Anthony Vanden Borre from Anderlecht is a massive signing for Walsall as I have been looking at this versatile player for many years, and I think he can do a good job playing in League One/Championship. Also I think that Nakhi Wells deserves a chance to start a few more games as he has been working hard in training, But I think a move away from Walsall next season will do him better, I feel Walsall overpaid for him at the start of the season.

Merse Out!!

I like the idea to add a different side to the story by adding "Merse's View". Good writing :)

You could make the coding in the 'results' update with a some centring, but that's just a minor thing.
