LFC and I decided to start another network game and story, and we are now joined by 3 others (not otters :P ) - Mervmeister, Fraser and The Madridista. Instead of being recently relegated Championship teams, we decided to be the biggest 3 clubs in London, plus Liverpool and Swansea :P

We'll be doing an introduction to each of our teams sometime today, and from then, we see what's happened.

ARSENAL

Arsenal Football Club is an English Premier League football club based in Holloway, London. One of the most successful clubs in English football, it has won 13 First Division and Premier League titles and 10 FA Cups. Arsenal holds the record for the longest uninterrupted period in the English top flight and would be placed first in an aggregated league of the entire 20th century. It is the second side to complete an English top flight season unbeaten (in the 2003–04 season), and the only one to do so across 38 matches.

Squad So Far...

Goalkeeping at Arsenal is limited, with only 2 serious candidates in both Polish keepers Lukasz Fabianski and the better choice of Wojciech Szczesny. The younger choice is Argentinian Damián Martínez, who has been linked with a few loan moves to Championship and League 1 sides.

Defense choices are very strong for the side, with captain Thomas Vermaelen being the star centre back, followed by Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and a younger Daniel Boateng. The left back options are varied, with new signing Nacho Monreal being rivalled by the younger, and arguably better, Kieran Gibbs. The right back options are also varied, with Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson contesting for the role. The other 3 youth additions in the defense are Zachari Fagan, Isaac Hayden and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, while Johan Djourou and Ignasi Miquel are both on loan to Hamburg and Leicester respectively.

The midfield is the toughest spot to choose, with a maximum of 5 places available in the side at one time. At the moment, the vice-captain is Mikel Arteta, but that spot could go to any other player at any moment, with Santi Cazorla the most likely. However, there are more than 2 possible candidates for the centre/attacking midfield space, with Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky putting up a great fight, while Emmanuel Frimpong seems to be surplus to requirements in the Arsenal. Winger Ryo Miyaichi will be looking to get another loan deal done before the end of deadline day, after being loan listed by the new manager. Thomas Eisfield, Serge Gnabry, Jack Jebb, Anthony Jeffrey, Nico Yennaris and Gedion Zelalem are the Arsenal players in the youth industry, while Francis Coquelin is on loan at Freiburg.

The attack force is full of talented players, such as Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski. The pair are joined by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott. Back-up options are Nicklas Bendtner and Park Chu Young, while new signing Yaya Sanogo is definitely one for the future. The youth consists of Benik Afobe, who has almost sealed a loan move to Portsmouth, Chuba Akpom, Zak Ansah and Austin Lipman. Olympiacos finalised the loan signing of Joel Campbell a few days ago, which finished off the striking options.

Who IS The Manager?

William Gallas, born 17th August 1977, played for all three London clubs in his career, before being released by Tottenham at the end of the 2012-13 season. He recently made the decision to retire from football at the age of 36, and has now taken on the role as Arsenal manager, after Arséne Wenger was sacked for a lack of trophies. Gallas hopes to bring some success to his old club, and put his careers at Tottenham and Chelsea behind him.

Kits

Great start, hope mine is as good :P
There is a problem. You said you were going to be the 3 biggest teams in London, as well as Lierpool and Swansea, how is one of you Arsenal? :)

Just joking, will be following this, hopefully it can last longer than your other network story! Good luck.

I was shocked when I was told too :D

Thanks, and the problem last time was the difference in what we wanted, now all 5 of us want the same thing, with teams, updates, etc :)

CHELSEA

Chelsea Football Club is an English Premier League football club based in Fulham, London. During the past two decades, Chelsea have established themselves as one of the most successful English teams in history. It has won four First Division and Premier League titles and 7 FA Cups. They have also recently won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. They are the only London club to have ever won the Champions League, a proud boast to hold over their rivals. The club currently plays at Stamford Bridge, a 41,837 seat stadium. Their current owner is Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Squad So Far..

Whilst Chelsea lack depth in the goalkeeping department, they make up for it in quality and experience. There are only 2 goalkeepers in the first team squad but first choice goalkeeper Petr Čech, who has kept his first team spot in the squad for a number of years now, has always been a consistent choice for Chelsea. Second choice goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who was signed on a free at the end of last season from local rivals Fulham, will also have something to offer when called upon. The 40 year old was bought in to challenge Čech and will definitely give the first choice goalkeeper a run for his money. The most promising goalkeeper is Belgian Thibaut Courtois, who has spent the past 2 seasons at Spanish club Atlético Madrid on loan. At the start of this season, it was announced that he would be returning to Atlético for a third season on loan.

Defensively, Chelsea are very strong, with captain John Terry holding a place as a center back, a spot he has really made his own during his Chelsea career. He is normally partnered by Brazilian center back David Luiz but is sometimes partnered with fellow Englishman Gary Cahill with young center backs Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Aké being the most promising prospects for the position. The left back role is normally filled by Ashley Cole but the spot is currently being challenged by Ryan Bertrand. The right back position is normally taken by Serbian Branislav Ivanović, but younger Spanish right back César Azpilicueta has been challenging for a place since joining last season.

Chelsea currently have a lot of options in midfield, but also have a lot of space in the midfield area, as they currently use the 4-5-1 formation. Experienced vice-captain Frank Lampard normally holds the only central midfield role but is often rotated around with Brazilian Ramires. The defensive midfielder in the squad is Nigerian John Obi Mikel but he could soon be challenged by the younger option of Spanish midfielder Oriel Romeu who is currently on loan at Valencia. The most talented wingers in the squad are currently young Belgian Eden Hazard and Brazilian Oscar who are both very talented for their age. The attacking midfielder is normally Spaniard Juan Mata who has played fantastically since joining Chelsea. The most promising midfielders are Josh Mceachran and Bertrand Traoré, who may need to go out on loan in order to develop further, with a host of League 1 sides interested in securing a loan move for he youngsters.

The weakest area of the squad is the strikers. With out of form Fernando Torres still being preferred over Demba Ba and powerful Belgian Romelu Lukaku, it seems that the management at Chelsea need to strengthen this area of the squad the most. Lukaku, André Schürrle and Islam Feruz all look to have bright futures at Chelsea and many fans feel it is imperative to give them first team football if they are going to develop to their maximum potential.

Who IS The Manager?

Michael Duberry, born 14th October 1975, made 87 appearances for Chelsea between 1993 and 1999, scoring once. After being released by Oxford United at the end of last season, he ventured into a playing career at non-league side Hendon F.C. but decided to retire, wanting to keep his standards high for any future roles in football. He takes over the post of Chelsea manager from the outgoing Rafael Benítez, who has left for Italian club Napoli. Duberry will hope for a long career with the club with which he started his career and he will now hope for success as a manager.

Liverpool Football Club is an English Premier League football club based in Liverpool. Liverpool F.C is one of the most successful clubs in England having won more European trophies than any other English team with five European Cups, three UEFA Cups and three UEFA Super Cups. The club has also won eighteen League titles, seven FA Cups and a record eight League Cups on the domestic front.

Squad so far....

Goalkeepers:
In goal we have Mignolet between the sticks. After a few very good seasons in the Premier League, he will now have big boots (or gloves) to fill in front of the Kop.
With Reina loaned out and unable to be called back due to loan agreement, Mignolet has no real pressure on him this season for the No.1 jersey.
Our other first team goalkeeper is Brad Jones, experienced and a decent second choice goalkeeper, but wouldn’t like to have to put faith in him as the clubs no.1 should something happen to Mignolet.

Defence:
The one area of the pitch that I was more than happy with when taking over at the club. Therefore I don’t think I will look to change make any changes here.
The back 4 is likely to consist of Enrique, Agger, Coates and Johnson.
Fans may be shocked at the choice to start Coates ahead of Skrtel, but I see great potential in Coates and hope to use that to my advantage.
Cissokho, Skrtel, Toure and Kelly will all be wanting to earn a place in the starting 11. Poor performances will not be tolerated and places are certainly there to be earned.

Midfield:
We have some decent options in midfield, but definitely the main area I want to make changes to.
Lucas and Gerrard (captain) are likely to be the 2 players to sit deeper and anchor the team. Lucas is my ball winner and Gerrard is likely to be used as a deep lying playmaker alongside him.
Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson will want to try and prove themselves and push for a starting place.

Our more attacking options in midfiled consist of Coutinho, Sterling and Luis Alberto.
Pacheco and Assaidi are also at the club but I don’t really see a future for them and may look to ship them out.
Suso definitely has a future at the club but is on loan for the season at Almeria.

Attack:
Suarez is the obvious goal threat here, however he will miss the first 7 games of the season due to suspension.
Sturridge, Aspas and Borini are all other options and ones that I am more than happy with.
Sturridge in particular is a player I really admire and expect him to push hard for a starting place.
We are likely to only play with 1 striker here, so competition is fierce.
Changes will definitely be made at the club, but all options will be weighed up to make sure the club moves forward in the best possible way.

Who is the manager?

Markus Babbel (born 8 September 1972) is a former international German football player and coach. He played as a defender for clubs in Germany and England.
Best known for his time spent at Bayern Munich where he played a whopping 170 games, he then went on to continue his career at Anfield.

Making only 42 appearances between 2000-2004 for Liverpool. He was an integral part of the Liverpool side often making bursting runs. He was also a key member of the UEFA Cup campaign.

Unfortunately he was diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome which caused him to miss a whole year of football, hence the low number of appearances.

Having managed at Stuttgart, Hertha BSC and Hoffenheim, he feels he has unfinished business here at Liverpool and wants to bring back the clubs glory days.
