Swansea, (also known as the Swans) currently play in the English Premier League, they were formed in 1912 after being leased by Swansea Gas Light Company. Over the years, we've had many ups and downs and have changed drastically as a club. This is our third season in the EPL, and we're hoping to improve on our past finishes, 12th and 9th.
It seems to be a theme ever since Swansea were founded in 1912, that they will have a good run for a couple years, then perform miserably for the next few due to sudden declines in talent.
The upcoming season appears to have major potential in which Swansea are thriving to fulfill, with many upcoming outs and ins at the club, who knows how they'll get on?

Squad So Far...

Goalkeepers - Goalkeeping talent at Swansea City is above standard, we have the outstanding Dutchman that is Michel Vorm who without a doubt will be the starting keeper for the upcoming season. We then have Gerhard Tremmel, although he is arguably a decent keeper, he's ageing now and let's just say at the age 0f 33 he's not exactly in Swansea's future plans. Finally we have Gregor Zabret, who is a strong candidate for the goalkeeping spot next season, he's improving quickly and has the potential to make Michel Vorm Swansea's 2nd choice keeper.

Defence - Swansea's defence is very strong, with Welshman Ashley WIlliams the leading player, who is accompanied by newcomer Chico, another spanish talent recently added to the squad. The fullback positions are secured by Angel Rangel and Neil Taylor, two solid full-backs who enjoy getting up the pitch as well as getting back. Garry Monk and Alan Tate are the cover for the defence, these two Swansea legends are loved by the fans. Then we have five upcoming defenders, the main hot prospects being Ben Davies and Jordi Amat. Ashley Richards, Kyle Bartley and Darnel Situ are the remaining three and will most likely be sent out on loan to continue their growth.

Midfield & Attack - Central midfield is where Swansea have stood out in recent years, fitting relatively unknown players into their philosophy to keep the ball and frustrate opponents. Leon Britton is the main man here, leading by example with strong mental and defensive play. De Guzman also brings great things to the team due to his talent from set piece's but Jose Canas is more likely to take the spot next to Leon Britton. Michu Lays just ahead of the two, he enjoys running from deep to score some quite magnificent goals, but this season he is being contested against by Wilfried Bony, a brilliant striker who came from Vitesse in the summer. Ki Seung-Yung, Mark Gower, and Kemy Agustien are good backups for the MC positions, however there is nobody who can really cover any absence of Michu. Youngster Henry Jones is the only youngster worth mentioning for these roles, though he's unlikely to become a first team regular. On the wings there is Nathan Dyer and Pablo Hernandez, Wayne Routledge is a good backup player here, but you'll need to look to improve here at a youth level for the future as Gwion Edwards is the only decent prospect.

Meet The Manager

That's right, ex-swansea legend Lee Trundle is the new pilot of the Swans, and he claims he is going to be making major changes at his former club.
Trundle was born on 10 October 1976 and is now 36. Trundle played for Swansea for a total of seven years and he done exceptionally well.
