Bayern Munich defender
Jerome Boateng has taken 4 weeks to finally speak out about his disappointment on
Mark van Bommel's appointment as manager, saying he
'isn't sure he can play' for the club again.
Boateng apparently handed in a transfer request this morning, but instead of requesting a move away from the club in a money deal, has demanded his contract is terminated.
In a statement online,
Boateng said:
"While I have loved my time at Bayern, I can't say I agree with the appointment of van Bommel as manager. I tried to put it behind me for the past few weeks, but I've realised that I'm not in his plans, and that I can't take such an inexperienced manager seriously. I have demanded that my contract is terminated, as I'm not sure I can play for the club again under his realm."
Whether
van Bommel has accepted or rejected
Boateng's request is yet to be known, but the drama currently happening is bound to cause unsettlement in the squad, despite only recently winning heir first trophy - the
German Super Cup - under
Mark van Bommel's reign.
