Tottenham Pasch through the first leg with ease

The Europa League play-offs began today, and Tottenham played host to Austrian club FC Pasching, three days after drawing at Swansea City. It was an eventful day at White Hart Lane, filled with controversy.

The team played in this easy-looking tie was Hugo Lloris - Kyle Naughton, Vlad Chiriches, Michael Dawson, Zeki Fryers - Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen, Gylfi Sigurdsson - Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli - Roberto Soldado.
After some controversial decisions in the first half, the first goal came in the 44th minute from Roberto Soldado, but his job wasn't yet over. After Pasching player Sencer Picher was booked, Jan Vertonghen doubled the lead from the aftermath in the 50th minute. A controversial decision followed, as Tottenham were awarded a penalty for a foul on Roberto Soldado, the taker, and eventual scorer in the 58th minute. More penalties came, as Erik Lamela was brought down in the box just 10 minutes later. Soldado took again - and scored to make the final score 4-0.

If the message wasn't received in that match report, the man of the match by far was Spanish superstar Soldado, who grabbed a hat trick, two of which were penalties, as well as an outstanding rating of 9.4 for the match.

New signing Erik Lamela spoke after the match, saying...
"That was a great game, especially great for my full professional début with Tottenham Hotspur, I club I hope to stay with for a long time in the future. It's looking good for the future, a 4-0 at home to one of the top Austrian sides is something we can push forward from. We didn't play our absolute strongest side, as we didn't play our strongest formation, but it's proof that we're one of the top rising sides in the world."

Other teams to win the first leg were Kuban, Swansea City and Feyenoord, while Sevilla, Spartak Moscow and Rosenborg all suffered defeats.
Well done, great win!

Easy group is easy, but this is Spurs, so I reckon you'll lose all your remaining group games 10-0 #Spursy ;)

But in all seriousness, great update, Soldado's looking solid

Spurs go on unbeaten

Tottenham Hotspur have continued their unbeaten run in all competitions in their next game in the Barclays Premier League, with a glorious victory for Spurs. This game, against relegation-tipped Norwich City, was played just 3 days after the 4-0 thrashing of FC Pasching, but form didn't drop for the North London side.

http://www.pronosticicalcioscommesse.com//wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Kaboul1.jpg

The team played at White Hart Lane was Hugo Lloris - Kyle Walker, Younes Kaboul, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose - Paulinho, Mousa Dembele - Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lewis Holtby, Christian Eriksen - Roberto Soldado, and the formation was slightly changed from 2 wingers and 1 centre to 0 wingers and 3 centres.

The game kicked off - but nothing spectacular happened in the first half, except for a minor injury to Lewis Holtby, who was substituted at that time for Erik Lamela. In the second half, the game properly began. In the 57th minute, Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a spectacular free kick from 30 yards out, putting Spurs ahead by 1-0. However, things weren't all happy for Tottenham, as Paulinho was forced off the pitch with an injury, Etienne Capoue replacing him. Just minutes later, Roberto Soldado made it two for the Londoners, in the 68th minute to be exact, and Spurs dominated from there. A few yellow cards went to the aggressive Canaries, but there was nothing else worthy of mention, and the game finished 2-0 in the home team's favour.

The man of the match in the game was French centre back Younes Kaboul, who lead the team to a solid home victory. He grabbed a respectable rating of 7.6, but all ratings were very consistent amongst the team.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris spoke after the match, saying...
"That was a good win for us, one that was expected, but one we impressed the manager and the fans with. I'm happy with the performances out there, especially Younes [Kaboul] and Bébé, the latter of which has performed exceptionally well on his Tottenham Premier League début. This game was the exact type of game that we lost or drew, if we'd have done any better we'd be in the UEFA Champions League right now. But it's been something we can work on, and I'm happy we're on form at the moment"

This victory takes Tottenham up to eighth in the table, while the table is topped by Manchester City and Everton. Games were won by Manchester City (6-1 against Swansea), and Chelsea (2-0 against Crystal Palace) in particular.
Kaboul! Just sold him :(
Lol, you must regret it now :P

Europa League brings Spurs success

The Europa League play-offs came to an end today, and Tottenham flew over to Austria to take on the tough task of holding their 4-0 lead they retained at White Hart Lane. They play FC Pasching, who could contend, but were unlikely to win the tie, even the home tie today.

At Waldstadion, the team played was Hugo Lloris - Kyle Walker, Vlad Chiriches, Michael Dawson, Kyle Naughton - Bébé, Lewis Holtby, Mousa Dembele, Erik Lamela - Christian Eriksen - Emmanuel Adebayor, with another formation change. This time, 4 defenders were played, 4 midfielders, 1 attacking midfielder and 1 striker was played.

The game started rapidly, as Lewis Holtby scored a goal in the 1st minute of the match, relaxing Spurs fans across the world. Just three minutes later, Emmanuel Adebayor doubled the lead, making the score 2-0 in just 4 minutes! FC Pasching fans were already leaving after this lead, knowing nothing could happen now. But could it? Unfortunately for both sets of fans, nothing else happened in the first half. However, in the start of the second half, Pasching defender Sencer Pichler was booked, just before Tottenham attacker Christian Eriksen was too yellow-carded. The game wasn’t over yet - as Tottenham made the score 3-0 through new signing Bébé, his first goal for the club in 52 minutes. Nothing else happened for the rest of the game, and the score ended 3-0 in the away team’s favour.

The man of the match for Spurs, and the match, was Belgian midfield superstar Mousa Dembele, who grabbed a rating of 8.9. However, all the players grabbed respectable ratings, ranging from 8.2 to 6.7.

Man of the match Dembele spoke to Sky Sports News after the match, and qualification to the Group Stage, saying…
”I’m delighted that we were able to grab such an emphatic win against a Europa League side, and that we’ve qualified for the Group Stage with such ease. This in my opinion highlights the fact that we are title contenders for the Europa League. I also believe that within the next few years, we can contend for the Premier League title. Our squad is so strong, we can do anything when we’re playing at our best. Our entire team played excellently today, and I hope that’s how we play all season, as if so, we’re in for a great season.”

Other teams to progress to the Europa League Group Stages are Feyenoord, CSKA Sofia, Besiktas and FC Red Bull Salzburg, to name a few. HJK, Dnipro, Shakhter Karagandy and Sevilla were eliminated, being the shocks of the play-offs.
Great updates&results mate! I wanna ask you something: how is Chiriches playing?

Thanks, Chiriches is doing well, but not first team standard just yet. But he's only young and Spurs have some great other centre backs :)

Deadline Day Insanity for Tottenham!

The deadline day Tottenham Hotspur had can be described as manic, but that’d be very tame to say the least. With £69,000,000 being spent on deadline day alone, Spurs and manager Mido were without a doubt extremely busy on this frantic, nerve wracking day at the office.

However, despite the successful signings into White Hart Lane, no money was brought into the club, which could lead to some money troubles in the distant future. But that’s highly unlikely for a club such as Tottenham.

The first man to be playing in Tottenham colours is 20 year-old Italian defender Mattia De Sciglio, who comes in from giants A.C. Milan for a total fee of £19,000,000. Such a pricy signing has brought in doubt from fans, but we all know what happened the last time Spurs fans doubted the club this year.

De Sciglio released a statement online, saying…
”I’m delighted to be a Tottenham Hotspur player, while it may not seem the most intelligent move for my career, being at A.C. Milan previously, I hope I can be a part of the new era that Tottenham are entering. Their squad is amazing, one I’m honoured to be a part of, one that can win many, many trophies - while I’m here, and if I leave. To even say I was considered as a signing for this magnificent club is astonishing. Thank you to Mido, Daniel Levy and all the people who will support me in the future.”

The second (and surprisingly, last) signing of the day was fellow A.C Milan star in 20 year-old attacker Stephan El Shaarawy, who completed a club record £50,000,000 move in installments over the next 48 months. Tottenham fans are eager to see their new signings in action, as well as the 7 signings completed previously, despite the massive price paid.

El Shaarawy spoke to Sky Sports News, where he said…
”To be a Spurs player at all is an amazing achievement for me, but to be here with Mattia [De Sciglio] is something I’m already looking forward to. Mattia and I already have a connection, we’ve already gelled. After this next game, we have a 2 week break, where we can gel with the rest of the team. With this squad at its best, I believe that there is nothing we cannot do. We need to make sure every player involved gives it 100%, no slacking. Because if we don’t, we’ll be amazing.”

Tottenham fans were previously angry at new manager Mido’s appointment as new manager, but have warmed to him after these new signings, as well as Bébé, and an unbeaten start to the season and Europa League. The Capital One Cup sees Spurs go to Elland Road to play Leeds United.
Great signings mate!
