Jordan already under pressure

Spurs manager Joe Jordan is already under pressure from Tottenham Hotspur fans after failing to win a Premier League game five games into the new season. Many Spurs fans feel it would of been better for the club and Jordan himself to stick to being a coach or assistant manager as they don't feel he is capable managing such a big club with so many fans heaping pressure on so early in his management career and believe it would of been better to experience management at a lower league side with not so many fans.

Joe Jordan understands the fans concerns but says "I know how it must feel to be in this situation. Bringing in so many class players but not being able to pull off the goods. Europe has been good so far, I understand the stature of this club and I know where it should be. Up at the top. Fans must understand the pressure that is on you when you spend so much money but fail to deliver, having abuse shouted from the stands aimed at you is the worst thing. It tears you apart, I love the club, the fans know I do and to be shouted at by the people you love is horrible"

This led to more frustration from the Spurs fans, many posting on club forums taking the mick out of Jordan's comments and wanting him out so early in his Spurs and management career. It's not looking bright for the Scot at the North London side with his only wins coming in the EURO Cup.

Jordan Sacked

Spurs manager Joe Jordan is today on the unemployment list of managers today after being given the sack by chairman Daniel Levy after reportedly false reports of Jordan looking at the newly vacant Augsburg job who are sat in 17th in the Bundesliga. Spurs were sat in 8th place when Jordan left. Results were just starting to pick up for him and then he was sacked after a 0-0 draw with Man Utd.







Reportedly, Bundesliga side Augsburg have offered him a job, Bundesliga.2 side SpVgg Greuther Furth have and Eredivise side ADO Den Haag have. Jordan says he is still making his mind up and said he has rejected offers from Premier League strugglers Aston Villa and West Brom saying he doesn't want another job in England until another venture into another country.

12 December: Jordan takes on Augsburg

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Joe Jordan has taken the job at German Bundesliga side Augsburg who currently sit in the relegation spots. And Augsburg are currently undergoing a take-over who is currently unknown. Luckily for Jordan he will have time to evaluate his squad as his next game is the last before the German winter break and hopefully for him he will have a new owner providing him with money in the January transfer window.

The First Match

I'd been here when I signed the contract but no one was here apart from the board who were welcoming me here. I had seen German football on TV before but nothing beats being here on matchday. The fans are all in one hour before the match starts, a superstition that I have never seen in England but this, this is it. I haven't really had time to evaluate my squad but I have based the team I have seen in training. Today was big. Mainz weren't too far away from us so it is important to try our best today. My aim is to lift us out of the relegation this season.



So it starts, the roar from both sets of supporters is deafening I've only been here for under a week and I already love German football.

37 mins: Boka is running forwards in front of me with the ball, I try put him off by screaming but he keeps going, he's given it inside. Okazaki skies it, the only threatening attack so far, the fans have not been quiet so far, this is brilliant, shame the football isn't as entertaining.

39 mins: They have a corner... Uh oh... Okazaki heads it and it's in... We've finally been silenced. 1-0 Mainz.

In the changing rooms: I didn't want to go in to hard on them, it's my first game here I don't want them to have a bad view on me already so I tell them to play for the fans and tell them it is possible for us to win here.

56 mins: We have a corner. I'm desperate for a goal here. Moravek whips it in and their defender nods it away, Altintop nods it down to Werner... Ah, he needs some training on his finishing, that was shocking.

67 mins: Baier has a free-kick, he's good at his crossing. Boka heads it out. Uh oh. A counter attack... It's slowed down a bit but still worrying... Phew, Okazaki heads it straight in the hands of Manninger

68 mins: Throw in in their half, Altintop fouled by Zimling I scream at the ref, and the opposing manager just laughs at my thick Scottish accent, I stare at him back. It's a yellow for their player, I clap the ref. Moravek whips it in and tipped by their keeper... Ottl keeps it in in the corner, Milik has it in the box. Cleared. I scream in anger

73 mins: They have a corner now... Their lad heads it down to their left-back, he's found Okazaki and passes to the man who took the corner, crossed in... Headed away... That looked dangerous... In again, headed away.

79 mins: They have a throw deep in their half... Please pin them in... Zimling plays it to Soto... Played long... Shocking defending! I scream at our right-back, thank god our keeper is on form

85 mins: They have a corner. Altintop heads away... Offside.

90+1 mins: Manninger takes our free-kick, Altintop heads it to Parkhurst... COME OOOOOOON I shout to my players as Parkhurst runs down the right. Tackled. Counter attack. Klavan intercepts their pass and blocked by his own player... Well held Manninger!

FT: 1-0 to Mainz

That's it! Not the start I wanted but at least I have the winter to see what needs improving and hopefully these new owners give me some funds.

Augsburg sack Jordan

Augsburg manager Joe Jordan has today been sacked by FC Augsburg Director of Football Stefan Reuter. In failing to avoid relegation, Jordan's future became uncertain and the club will move forward with a new manager in charge.

The former Tottenham man had been manager at Augsburg since December 2012 (Now it is May 2013). Augsburg were relegated this season with very little separating them from Hertha BSC who retained their Bundesliga status.

Joe Jordan has reportedly applied for League 1 side Bristol City's vacant manager role with many feeling Jordan may be feeling homesick and what caused him to fail in Germany. Bristol City missed out on play-off promotion this season, being knocked out of the play-off semi-finals by Peterborough 3-2 on aggregate. Jordan has also been linked with the new vacant role at Premier League relegated side Crystal Palace who will want an immediate return to the Premier League but Jordan has a whole summer to decide which club he wants to go to.

Jordan decides Palace!

With many believing Bristol City were the team for Joe Jordan, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has swooped the Scot to be the man to give Palace an immediate return to the top-flight and even further. Parish had this to say "We are delighted to announce today that Joe Jordan has decided to join Crystal Palace over many other teams. Jordan has had undeserved criticism in his past few management jobs, he was under pressure at both teams, with Spurs spending so much and Augsburg already threatened with relegation. I personally feel this job is perfect for Jordan as he is not under too much pressure and has full backing from us and hopefully the fans"

Many journalists agree with Parish's comments about it being perfect for him. "It's a new era for Palace, they know what it's like at the top and what it's like below it. Joe Jordan knows what it's like to fail and I'm sure he'll want to succeed here" said a local journalist.
