Thanks for reading Glen, it was your QPR story that got me into writing about football manager and not just playing it. :)

I've got to agree, my aim for next season is defiantly a play off spot at least!

It’s been another steady for my Hayes & Yeading team, and even though we haven’t been disappointing I think we safely say the play offs are going to be out of reach this season. We would have had to realistically win every game this month to even stand a chance of making them, but unfortunately that was not possible.

If it wasn’t for the first two awful months of the season we would be well up there now, but what’s happened has happened and we now have to start building for next season, and with every player out of contract at the end of the season it’s going to be a busy summer with lots of players leaving and joining. The players are not only playing for a place in the team but for a place at the club.
Wicked story mate, if results go your way you could still finish 6th. I see you challenging for the title next season if you miss out though ;)

That's awesome to know. :) Always feel good every time someone says they've been inspired off me.

Definitely no promotion this season unfortunately, but I bet next season will be a success though :D

New Contract

--------------------

Well my first season in charge is complete, and although it was a bit touch and go at the start I think we’ve done ourselves proud with our 11th place finish. Although not by much, we have achieved a top half finish in the table when at the start of the season the board where after a mid table finish so we have not failed in the task that was set to us.

I’m delighted to say I’ve also been handed a new one-year contract which more than anything I am relieved about. The board could have easily let me go and got someone more experienced in but I’m glad they’ve seen that I’ve got a good thing going here and I’m sure we can do better next season.

Now the real challenge beings, every player is out of contract and we do not have the wage budget necessary to offer them all new contracts, so I’m going to have to hand pick who stays and who goes then make up the numbers using free transfer and loans, it’s going to be one huge summer for the club but I’m so excited for next season already.
I get into your story at the end of your first season, but sounds great! I had almost the same problem as you dealing with contracts with my Real Oviedo: it's a hard problem, but you can face that signing some new free players...

Keep it up mate! :)

No chance, once I get my Chester team promoted we will be fighting for the BSBP title :)

Haha good luck with Chester, i will be sure to read your story when I get a free minute! :)

It’s with great sadness that I’ve had to see eight first team players leave this summer. They had all (apart from Jay Kalama) signed contracts with other clubs and moved on the 1st of August, leaving me with just ten senior players at the club.

Jay Kalama and Daniel Brathwaite I chose not to offer new contracts to, simply because I didn’t think they had a future at the club. Daniel is not getting any younger at 31 and Jay is just not good enough for my squad, with three centre backs already at the club who I rate higher than him.

The rest of them left because I couldn’t offer them the type of money they where looking for. I’m most gutted about Adam Bygrave, he was my player of the season last season, with an average rating of 7.13 in 44 games but he made it clear that the £300 a week the club was offering him was unacceptable and instead chose to move to Sutton Utd for £375.

Thankfully the ten that have stayed have showed fantastic loyally to me and club, with many of them taking pay cuts to stay. The core of the squad for next season will be build around them, and with a few signings here and there I think we will have a squad that will be challenging at the right end of the table.

The next job on my list is to bring some fresh faces into the club. We will probably need about eight or nine players to have a squad capable of dealing with injuries and suspensions thought out the long season.
