Schmeichel Rejects Cagliari

Today Denmark manager rejected an approach from Seria club Cagliari. The great dane had this to say: "I am not looking for a club job yet. I want to focus my intentions on reaching the 2014 World cup. After that, we'll see where my career lies"

It seems the idea of club management is too soon for Schmeichel. This news reassures the Denmark fans as now they have a top quality manager with just the national team to focus on rather than club commitments as well.

Would have been interesting to see you go with Cagliari, but nevertheless, it will also be good for you to focus your attentions on Denmark at the moment. :D

Schmeichel Press Conference

J - Journalists
PS - Peter Schmeichel

J - What are your views on Denmarks recent performances
PS - I am very happy with our performances. We are exceeding expectations. However the job is far from done, we still need to push on until we mathematically secure top spot in the group.

J - Italy are having an abysmal campaign. What are your views on that?
PS - Your right, Italy are awful at the moment and im not complaining! It has helped us incredibly as they were going to be the hardest to beat, our biggest rival at the minute is Armenia! in second place.

J - You have played your son Kasper in most games despite saying Lindegaard was better. Please explain this?
PS - Lindergaard was not playing at Man United. We needed a quality keeper that was playing week in, week out. Kasper fitted the bill perfectly.

J - Your next match is a friendly versus Russia. What are you hoping to achieve from that?
PS - A win, nothing else. All managers want to win, that was quite a stupid question...

J - okay :/ finally, what kind of club would you like/intend to manager after the world cup?
PS - I will take any offers that come my way in the top leagues. However, if i had to choose one club it would have to be Man United. I love the club and it would be a dream come true to manage there. That is my career ambition

Schmeichel Offered Milan Job!

4th October 2013

Today AC Milan sacked their manager and have made a formal approach for Peter Schmeichel! The italian giants find themselves in 18th place in Serie A. With still 2 games to go in the qualifying stages for the World Cup, The Great Dane may think it is too early for club management, however, there may not be as good a job as AC Milan available in the future.

SHOULD HE TAKE IT?

COMMENT YOUR THOUGHTS
I'd say take it, it's a top club, and you can have both an int. job and club job. Though, as an Inter fan, I hope you fail there :P
Nah, reject it, it's unrealistid managing a club and a national team.
Take it, Milan is hard but interesting. Go for it mate.

The whole aim of the story was too do both though. Its either now or after the world cup?
I'd take it, AC Milan are a fantastic club!

Schmeichel Named AC Milan Manager

http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2010/1122/acmilanbadge_275x155.jpg

Peter Schmeichel has taken over the Italian Giants AC Milan. Here is the history of Milan:
Formed: 1899
European Cup/Champions League: 1962-63, 1968-69, 1988-89, 1989-90, 1993-94, 2002-03, 2006-07
European Cup Winners' Cup:: 1967-68, 1972-73
UEFA Super Cup: 1989, 1990, 1994, 2003, 2007
Serie A: 18
Coppa Italia: 5
Super Coppa: 5

Schmeichel has taken control at a low point in the clubs history. The team is currently sitting in 18th position in Serie A and lost in the Europa League playoff round to Dusseldorf. It is clear things are not going well for Milan and chairman Silvio Burlusconi clearly feels Schmeichel is the best man for the job.

FORZA MILAN!
Woah major development :o great decision there to take over will be interesting to see how Schmeichel does!
Arvind - FORZA MILAN indeed ;)

Krups - I was shocked Milan offered me th job :O I've never managed in Italy before so this is new for me as well :P
