Ex-French iconic footballer and current manager of Ligue 1 relegation candidates Stade de Reims, Zinedine Zidane has told France 24 that he believes that if his side avoids relegation from the league, then it will spur the players on to make a bid for European football next season. He has already worked quickly to sign 33 year old French striker Nicolas Anelka, along with two other players, on a free transfer and he is hoping that he will help fire their way to safety. Whilst not much is expected of Les Rouges et Blanc, the club will hope that these new signings, combined with the knowledge and experience of Zidane, will help them stay clear of the drop zone.

Good pre-season results, unlucky against Man U. To be fair your team all got decent ratings, but looks like your defense may need bolstering based on the games' "thirds stats".

Zinedine Zidane made an average start to his managerial career this month as his team Stade de Reims played three times. We take a look at the results in August and kick off our new monthly award system which includes the Player Of The Month award and the Goal Of The Month award.










Zidane declared himself 'ecstatic' after their away win over Girondins Bordeaux. Now we move on to our Player Of The Month award. We feel that Brazilian winger Diego deserves the award after scoring one, making some great runs and executing some brilliant passes. He also gets the Goal Of The Month award after a great team goal was finished by him with a close-range volley.
