Andre Villas Boas handed contract extension

http://i44.tinypic.com/i5uomb.png
We are delighted to announce that manager Andre Villas Boas has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2018.

Andre Villas Boas spoke of his delight after extending his contract with Tottenham Hotspur. The 35-year old was in the final year of his deal, however Chairman Daniel Levy decided to extend the Portuguese contract after leading the club to a very successful season.

Speaking to Spurs TV Online, the manager said "It's great to have the trust of Daniel. We have a great relationship, we communicate well and we both want this club to succeed."

"When he [Daniel Levy] contacted me over the job just over a year, I was very excited - Tottenham are a great club with a great history and big expectations from the fans. I hadn't had the greatest start in my career during my time in London. He had faith in me, he took a gamble on me and for that I am eternally grateful."

"Signing with Tottenham was not a chance of restoring my reputation - it was to help get Tottenham back where they belong and fight for the league titles. I feel that I am doing that now. Currently we are sat at the top [of the table] and we're now into the Semi Finals of the Europa League - a competition I hold in high regard."
Good to see AVB sticking with Spurs, hopefully he can deliver more success :)
Unlucky against City but congrats on the contract extension! :)

Tottenham Draw North London Rivals in Europa League Semi-final.

http://i41.tinypic.com/fa3ii0.png

It's an encounter that will send the fans of North London crazy. Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn against their North London Rivals, Arsenal for the Semi-final of the Europa League.

The match will see the pair face each other in a grueling battle, and the victor will be heading to the finals to get a chance of getting their hands on a European trophy.

Unlike Arsenal, Tottenham do have experience in this cup competition, having won it twice before. Their first time was in the 1972 season, winning the trophy under Bill Nicholson, which ultimately lead to the Lilywhites becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies, having won the the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1963.

It took Tottenham just 2 more years to reach another final. However, they finished runners up, losing to Dutch side Feyenoord.

They then won the competition again 12 years later in 1984, beating R.S.C. Anderlecht on penalties.

Fixture List

Swansea vs Anji
Arsenal vs Tottenham
Nice draw :) Good luck!!

The Barclays Premier League: A guide to the upcoming season

http://i43.tinypic.com/2qtaft2.png

It's that time of year again - the new season is fast approaching and football fans across the globe have something to finally look forward to.

For all the information on your team this season, use the following guide below

http://i39.tinypic.com/2mwsd2c.pngArsenal

Manager: Arsene Wenger
Final position: 4th
Predicted position 5th
Improvements: Arsenal are still lacking that Anchor man in the center of the pitch. A good shout could be Etienne Capoue, who is being looked at by both AS Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur.

http://i39.tinypic.com/2mg8vgg.pngAston Villa

Manager: Paul Lambert
Final position: 9th
Predicted position 10th
Improvements: With an injury to first choice goalkeeper, Brad Guzan, Villa could really do with a quality back-up. A striker to help push for a place in the side alongside Benteke could also help.

http://i42.tinypic.com/abm72e.pngChelsea

Manager: Jose Mourinho
Final position: 5th
Predicted position 3rd
Improvements: Highly rated goalkeeper Courtois looks set to leave Stamford Bridge, alongside defender Gary Cahill, Chelsea could really do with some replacements.

http://i39.tinypic.com/25jegr8.pngCrystal Palace

Manager: Ian Holloway
Final position: 17th
Predicted position 18th
Improvements: None. They have bought well so far thus far. Bringing in the likes of Falque from Tottenham, as well as highly rated youngster Piazon in on loan from Chelsea.

http://i39.tinypic.com/xn6wrm.pngEverton

Manager: Roberto Martinez
Final position: 11th
Predicted position 9th
Improvements: A left back to replace the outgoing Leighton Baines, who has moved to Manchester United.

http://i39.tinypic.com/2ykywc3.pngHull City Tigers

Manager: Roberto Martinez
Final position: 16th
Predicted position 16th
Improvements: A new striker. As either competition for Belgium striker Vossen or even as a replacement - German side Borussia Mönchengladbach are keen to bring the Belgian to Germany.

http://i44.tinypic.com/swwie9.pngLiverpool

Manager: Marcelo Bielsa
Final position: 7th
Predicted position 6th
Improvements: With Mingonlet being unhappy playing second fiddle to Golden Glove winner Reina, they could really do with a quality back-up goalkeeper should the Spaniard get injured.

http://i40.tinypic.com/2n0olrd.pngManchester City

Manager: Manuel Pellegrini
Final position: 3rd
Predicted position 1st
Improvements: Defenders. Manchester City need to get in quality placements for the ageing Lescott. Pepe has already been confirmed by the club; while NKoulou is another target for the Citizens

http://i44.tinypic.com/2v028fk.pngManchester United

Manager: David Moyes
Final position: 1st
Predicted position 2nd
Improvements: None. They have already improved on their two main weaknesses, having bought in Liverpudlian Leighton Baines to replace the ageing Patrice Evra, while Dede has been bought in to add steel to the back line.

http://i44.tinypic.com/208jh41.pngNewcastle United

Manager: Alan Pardrew
Final position: 8th
Predicted position 8th
Improvements: A defensive midfielder and possibly a left back.

http://i42.tinypic.com/5twb2o.pngNorwich City

Manager: Chris Hughton
Final position: 12th
Predicted position 12th
Improvements: They really need new full backs. The current one's at the club aren't good enough, while Steven Whittaker has been told he is free to leave.

http://i41.tinypic.com/2yor5g4.pngReading

Manager: Nigel Adkins
Final position: N/A
Predicted position 19th
Improvements: This one is rather suprising. They have currently bought in several good players, and although many of their current squad is Championship level, most of their buys have been good. Definitely a dark horse this season.

http://i44.tinypic.com/2vhxdog.pngSouthampton

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Final position: 13th
Predicted position 13th
Improvements: A defensive midfielder to replace the outgoing Jack Cork. They could also do with some creative wide players.

http://i39.tinypic.com/2hxt853.pngStoke

Manager: Mark Hughes
Final position: 6th
Predicted position 7th
Improvements: Several areas could do with reinforcing. Especially if they are going to have a serious crack at the Europa League.

http://i40.tinypic.com/2euorpf.pngSwansea

Manager: Michael Laudrup
Final position: 10th
Predicted position 11th
Improvements: They need some central midfielder to add a bit of steel to their squad.

http://i40.tinypic.com/25ryq2d.pngTottenham Hotspur

Manager: Andre Villas-Boas
Final position: 2nd
Predicted position 4th
Improvements: An injury to defensive midfielder Sandro means that Tottenham will be looking at an anchor man. This could be difficult, however due to the fact that they made a loss of £-100,000,000 last year. Several players could be shipped out to free up wages and generate a transfer budget.

http://i39.tinypic.com/2d1nwg9.pngWatford

Manager: Glanfranco Zola
Final position: N/A
Predicted position 20th
Improvements:Everywhere. Despite the influx of new players bought in, most are not Premier league level, or have any experience playing in the Premier League.

http://i39.tinypic.com/289k02q.pngWest Bromwich Albion

Manager: Steven Clarke
Final position: 14th
Predicted position 14th
Improvements:A striker is a must to replace the goals of Lukaku, who has moved back to his parent club, Chelsea.

http://i42.tinypic.com/t6v19d.pngWest Ham United

Manager: Tony Mowbray
Final position: 15th
Predicted position 15th
Improvements:A defensive midfielder to replace Mohammed Diame.

http://i42.tinypic.com/10qvrl3.pngWigan Athletic

Manager: Owen Coyle
Final position: N/A
Predicted position 17th
Improvements: A striker should be a priority for the club, as well as a left back.
