Walter Bellia: Why should I hire you?

Nathan Limior: I think you'd like to take a look at this.

I place a thick binder down on the table. I try not to slam it down, but due to the weight it makes a loud thud anyway. Bellia slides the book over to him and pores it over. It contains diagrams for the 3-1-2-2-2 and 3-1-2-3-1, as well as proposed training schedules and preliminary staff picks.

Walter Bellia: Don't you think that's a little ambitious? I think that's way too attack-minded for Italy.

Nathan Limior: Obviously, I can't regale you with any fancy tales of great results, but I've had dreams of this formation working. One night I've dreamed that I won the Premier League using this formation.

Walter Bellia: Well, dreams are dangerous, just look at Diego Maradona.

I thought I had blown it. 26 years old, and slumming through Europe with my coaching licenses to try to grab on to any job I could find, and no one was having any of it. I mean, what the hell was I doing? But suddenly...

Walter Bellia: But what the hell? It's like we're not going anywhere any time soon, it may as well be time to have a little experiment. Here's a contract for 1,400 Euros per week. Your wage budget is 18,516 Euros per week, and I'll grant you 25,000 for transfers. Don't spend it all in one place.

Nathan Limior: I won't disappoint you, boss.

And with that, I hurriedly sign the contract that would change my life forever.

---

OOC: Everton isn't going anywhere. The story's just sleeping. I just want to share with you a little experiment to see if my tactics can work in a LLM setting. Chieti were only chosen because they're in Serie C2, they wear black and green, and don't start with a point deduction.

Oooh a new story, don't want Everton to disappear for any amount of time though! :(

Nice start, it's certainly an interesting concept for a save, basing it around a tactic.
But I hope it works, perhaps this can live up to the awesome Everton story while it's away :)

Introduction to the Club

Tactics
The whole point of the story. I want to see how my tactics do in a lower league environment. The only difference from Everton is that everyone doesn't move into channels anymore, the inside forwards actually cut inside and only the poacher moves into channels for the final ball. Due to our squad makeup, I'll be rolling with the six man midfield as the primary version of the tactic.

Player Acquisition Philosophy
The goal is promotion. Towards that end, all new players and staff will only be one year contracts, making sure we have as few obligations as possible going into post-promotion seasons. Our scouting range is only throughout Central Europe, that will need to be upgraded ASAP, but for now is acceptable.

Overview and Facilities
This is not a club with much history, with the only Serie C2 win coming in 1991. It has okay facilities, nothing special. The stadium only holds almost 7,500, it won't make much money for us in that state.

Staff
Since there's only a week until the first friendly, I won't be doing mutual terminations. The staff isn't as skeleton as I expected, but I will have to fill it out with coaches and scouts.

Squad
We're the youngest team in Serie C2/B, perfectly suiting my style. Amazingly, we do have the players to run this tactic, but I've had to convert some players to wingers, and some of the wingers to the opposite side.
Sounds awesome eb, love the idea very different!
Oh and I see my name.. again! (Saw it on Seni's)
This is really good so far :P Although it has a lot to live up to with the Everton one :)
nice start. will subscribe to see what will happen. gl mate.

The President of Chieti Football, Walter Bellia has been condemned by the judges of the Court of Chieti to 5 years and 6 months for illegal trafficking of waste, fraud against the Abruzzo Region and fraud trial.

Whoopsy, Walter :P

2012 Preseason

Chieti 1 - 1 Sorrento
Not bad for a first performance, especially against a club one division higher. We took the early lead when a nice through ball was played into Riccardo Berardino who slotted it in for the first goal and the early lead. Michael Cardinali put Chieti's position into question when he got a straight red for elbowing an opposing player, but we carried into halftime with the lead. In the second half, dropoff in backup ability and fatigue hurt us, and Dario Arcuri equalized on a goal our keeper didn't seem to do enough on. Still, it's a shorthanded draw, and I can live with that, despite not doing well on the possession side of things.
Player of the Match: Dario Arcuri (Sorrento)

- Center back Nicolas Di Filippo suffered a back strain and will miss 5-6 weeks, even though he isn't planned to be a starter it still hurts squad depth.

- Chieti have signed Ivan Martinelli, Fernando Redondo, and Alberto Maria Fontana to be coaches.

- Chieti have drawn Benevento in the first qualifying round of the Coppa Italia. Since Benevento is a division higher than Chieti, it'll be a tough match.

- The Coppa Italia draws all the way to the final at the beginning, which is silly and I'll spare you from the details.

Chieti 2 - 2 Benevento
It seemed like we would get blown out thanks to giving Benevento plenty of space on crosses - Benevento's second goal seemed like one our keeper could've went to and grabbed, but wasn't able to for some reason. We came back in the second half, with Del Gaudio and Evola scoring goals to tie it up.
Player of the Match: Andrea Mengoni (Benevento)
Injury Update: Emanuele Ciccotosto broke his arm and will miss 7-8 weeks, a tough blow for a developing player.

- Saverio Cutrupi will miss the cup match due to food poisoning.

Coppa Italia First Qualifying Round
Benevento 1 - 0 Chieti
We got the most of possession, but couldn't finish, and we let them have a fatal second chance on a corner kick.
Player of the Match: Andrea Signorini (Benevento)

Chieti 1 - 3 Ternana
I was shocked to find out Ternana got so few shots/on target, they were just deadly efficient. We got a consolation goal late but we took too long to show up.
Player of the Match:

Sambenedettese 1 - 4 Chieti
We really don't have the guns at AMC to play my 3-1-2-3-1, so we roll with two strikers again. Andrelko Savic had a great game on his debut with a brace, and despite missing a penalty early and getting scored on first, we bossed the midfield and played our game.
Player of the Match: Andrelko Savic (Chieti)

Civitanovese 1 - 1 Chieti
It sucks that we couldn't put more balls in the back of the net, but the team is dominating possession and getting used to the tactics.
Player of the Match: Domenico Aloisi (Civitanovese)

Miglianico 2 - 3 Chieti
Jonathan Alessandro got a first half hat trick, but the team seemed unresponsive to a half-time team talk and let them back in it, plus we weren't as threatening without Alessandro on the pitch.
Player of the Match: Jonathan Alessandro (Chieti)
Injury Update: Unfortunately, Alessandro suffered a twisted knee and will be out 4 weeks. It sucks to have someone go out just as they start getting it together.

Transfers

In
- Chieti have signed 34 year old center back Salvatore Accursi to a 1 year, 825E/week contract. Despite his advanced age, he is still nimble and skillful and will be the leader of the back three this season.
- Chieti have signed 28 year old midfielder Francesco Evola to 1 year, 725E/week contract. He is a boss and will work up and down between the 18s for us this season.
- In another move to bolster the back 3, Chieti have signed 22 year old Saverio Cutrupi to a 1,400E/week contract. He has great pace and passing and will help us out for sure.
- Lazio's striker Keita Balde is moving on a season-long loan to Chieti, hopefully, his talent up front will see us through to a promotion.
- Ternana has loaned out winger Marco Donati for the season. He plays AMR but we intend to play him at AML.
- Juve Stabia have loaned out winger Gennaro Del Gaudio for the season, even though he is right footed he is still a skilled inside forward at the AMR position.
- Chieti have signed free agent center back Andrea Bilato, he's very talented and should help us out.
- Chieti have signed Mauro Macchia, a natural right footed AML who will help us out.
- Francesco Severi has been signed by Chieti, a versatile player among our back 3 + defensive midfielder positions.
- In order to bolster AMC and provide a bit of youth, Chieti have signed Andrea Giuseppe Pandolfi.
- We may as well use our parent clubs, and to that end we've taken in Vahid Hambo and Andelko Sakic on loan from Sampdoria on free loans to boost our strike force.

Out
- The loan contracts of Matteo Mantovani, Alessandro Viscontini, Andrea Cappa, and Mariglen Sehitaj have been terminated as they don't fit in my plans.
- Adelio Cerbone has been sold to Renato Curi Angolana for free since he's just a money drain.[/img]
Nice update. Some mixed results but I am sure your players will adapt to the advanced tactics that you have to offer ;)

September 2012

Meifi 4 - 1 Chieti
Though we were about even on the statline, Meifi dominated us since they created better chances - 4 clear cut chances to our 0. We need to defend the wings better.
Player of the Match: Antonio Croce (Meifi)

- Chieti have sold a grand total of 350 season tickets!

Chieti 2 - 0 Fondi
Lorenzo Del Pinto caused many problems with his passing ability, and Fondi weren't allowed to get much of the ball. About 50% of our shots were on target, and we got 2 in the net early and rode out Fondi in order to secure our first Serie C2/B victory!
Player of the Match: Salvatore Accursi
Injury Update: Unfortunately, Andrelko Savic suffered a thigh strain and will miss 3-4 weeks. Thankfully, we've still got depth at striker to ride out the injury wave.
Injury Update: Also, Mauro Macchia suffered a gashed leg and will miss 3 weeks.

- Luca Verni suffered a groin strain in training and will miss 4 weeks, another blow to our strikeforce.

- Borgo a Buggiano is expected to have a low turnout for their game against Chieti, hopefully we can use the lack of home support to our advantage.

- Chieti will play Serie C1/B side Catanzaro in the first round of the Serie C Cup. Thankfully, the match will be played at our ground.

Borgo a Buggiano 2 - 1 Chieti
I'm not sure why the assistant manager told me to tell the team we were unlucky, even if it did work, I thought we got outplayed by Borgo here. They controlled the ball for most of the match and we couldn't tackle or intercept to get the ball back very well.
Player of the Match: Claudio Santini (Borgo a Buggiano)

Chieti 1 - 3 Poggibonsi
Once again, we get the early lead, but despite controlling possession we concede way too many from crosses.
Player of the Match: Filippo Maria Scardina (Poggibonsi)

- Nathan Limior has pulled opposition instruction duties from his assistant manager and will be doing them himself from now on.

Salernitana 1 - 2 Chieti
Our second win, and our first on the road! We cut out the crosses and despite letting them score an equalizer, Hambo got onto a nice long ball and broke through for the winning score.
Player of the Match: Michael Cardinali (Chieti)
Injury Update: Sadly, Gennaro Del Gaudio ruptured his Achilles tendon and will miss 3-4 months, a huge loss to our attack.

Transfers

In
- Chieti have signed Cristian Mandrelli, a 37 year old goalkeeper with high determination and still plenty of skill.

Out
N/A

Serie C2/B Table

We're just out of the relegation zone. We haven't done too great, but hopefully with our strikers coming back from injury and with some slight tactical changes we'll be climbing up that table in no time.[/img]
Decent start. Some good wins in there and hopefully you can stop those crosses.
Mixed bag of results there, decent wins but much to build on still defensively. I'm sure it won't be long before the tactic starts to gel :)
