Chapter 4- Welcome to La Liga
Section 2

Today, September 2nd, was a very important day for a manager. It was Deadline Day. No day in football was more important to a team's success then deadline day. It was when heroes were found, and daring transfers made. But I wasn't really looking to find a hero, or to make a daring transfer. All I wanted was a third centerback. I had one of my new scouts, Klaus Fischer, go out and get me a report on all available center backs for under 3 million pounds. One stood out.

Secretary, get me Christian Bucci on the phone. I need to talk to him about some transfers.

Christian Buccia is manager of Serie B side Pescara, who are sitting 8th in Serie A. He also manages my centerback target.

Hello

Hello, Christian Buccia here. What do you need?

Marco Capuano.

Marco Capuano is a talented young center back who stays with his man well and makes important tackles when he needs too. My scouts also say he's dirt cheap.

Alright, how much are you willing to pay?

1 million pounds?

5 million pounds.

3

3.7 million pounds. Take it or leave it.

Fine, send him to the San Sebastian. We can work out a contract there.

Alright, I'm going to regret this, but we've got a deal.

It's 3:00 now, and Marco Capuano has finally arrived. We meet in my comfortable office to discuss terms. Capuano seems eager to be a Sociedad player, but his agent seems unhappy to be here. The agent hands over the demands. Almost 13,000 pounds per week, but It will be worth it. I take out a contract slip, fill out the details and hand it to Marco. He signs. Marco Capuano is officially a Sociedad player.
Capuano is not a player I'm that well educated on, but he looks good!

Chapter 4- Welcome to La Liga
Section 3

Today is September 16th 2012, the day after a huge win against Atletico Madrid. Carlos Vela, who has become our Tailorsman, scored the winning goal, and the team is in great spirits. Therefore, I thought today would be a great day to break the news too the team. I've called a team meeting, and every single Sociedad player is sitting in front of me, waiting to hear what I have to say.

Ok lads, I just wanted to congratulate you on the excellent win yesterday. You all showed lots of spirit, and if you continue to do that, you'll win lots of games. I know you guys are worried about the game against Barca, but I think you all have a shot. But that's not the reason I've called you in today. I've called you in today to discuss an event I've scheduled. I've gotten a call from the hospital. They called to ask me if I would bring you all, every single Sociedad player, from the first team to the reserves, to go and meet some kids with Cancer. Now, I've accepted this because It's a good thing for you all to do. Those kids have undergone too much pain, and going to see them and sign autographs and the like will make their day. It's for the best. The event is tomorrow, and I expect all of you to be at the hospital at 7:00. Alright?

Carlos Vela clears his throat, and begins to speak.

I think this is a great idea Coach, I'll be there, and I'll do what I can to make those kids happy.

Thank you Carlos. Anybody else have anything to say?

Are you serious coach? Do you think I'm going to go see some kids during my free time tomorrow. I have a busy life coach, and tomorrow is my day off. I don't care how bad these kids feel, I feel just as bad when I'm running all these laps that you make us run. Are you crazy? You could have asked us before you go and schedule all these team events. Please tell me this is a joke.

The room goes dead quiet. Everybody stares at Gonzalo Castro. He is the one that has lashed out and me and poor disabled kids. I stare at him in shock.

Are you telling me that you're not going to the event? These kids are probably going to die. They've led terrible lives, with unheard of pain. Pain like you've never experienced. And here you are complaining about your life. And here you are, making 16,750 pounds a week, living such a terrible life as a professional footballer. What do you have to say for yourself?

Look boss, I don't have anything against those kids, I'm just really tired boss. I don't really care about any of this. I just want first team football. Take Antoine Griezmann off the pitch and give me a chance.

Don't even think about playing first team football if you don't show up. I'm disgusted with your behavior and I'm considering putting you on the transfer list. Your behavior is embarrassing. Show up tomorrow, of pay the price!
Damn Gonzalo Castro needs an attitude adjustment
What a c*nt....
Quality update, but what a dick that Castro guy is!

Chapter 4- Welcome to La Liga
Section 4

It all happened so fast. One second he was dribbling past defenders. THe next second was he was on the ground. I rushed out onto the field and prayed that he was ok. But he didn't get up. Carlos Vela was lying on the ground in an immense amount of pain.

Carlos, Carlos, are you ok?

He doesn't respond, he just grimaces in pain. To the left of him, is Gonzalo Castro. He gives me an innocent look. Gonzalo Castro, our club disease, has made a disgusting late tackle on Carlos Vela. Vela was manhandling him in training. Went by him every time in our dribbling drills. THis time, he had enough. Vela skipped past him, and Castro lashed out at his ankle. And now, Vela is on the ground.

Physio, Physio!

The physio races toward Vela. He stops right in front of me and starts Iceing the Vela's chest.

What's wrong with his chest?

It wasn't the blow to the ankle that was the injury, it was the fall. He slammed his Chest on the ground with more force that the body can handle. At best, he bruised his rib , but it looks like he has a chest injury.

How long will he be out for?

Probably a couple weeks at least. We'll need to take him to the Hospital to find out.

Later at the hospital

Vela's been at the Hospital for 3 hours now, and he's been undergoing several tests on his reflexes and all of that. I'm not an expert on this stuff, but it looks like the doctors think that it's not that big of a deal. They told me they'd have a final diagnosis in 20 minutes.

20 minutes later

Mr. Di Matteo?

Yes

We have a final diagnosis. Carlos Vela has a bruised chest, and he probably won't be playing football for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

I bury my head in my hands. IF this is correct, which it obviously is, it means that he won't be playing against Barcelona in a couple days.

However, this is a but. We have a stamina injection. If Carlos wants, he can take this injection. It will allow him to play against Barca, but then we strongly suggest that he rests after that.

Carlos tells the doctor that he wants to do it. I breathe a sigh of relief as our best player will still be playing, against Barcelona.
Lucky escape, what are you going to do about Gonzalo castro?
Nice update! Get that Castro out of the club now! He's a waste of space! Vela will score a hat-trick vs Barca.
Nice update mate :)
