2012/23 August Summary:

Premier League -

Wolves 1 - 1 Toon
Toon 2 - 0 Liverpool

European Supercup -

Toon 1 - 3 AC Milan

Domesticly not a bad month with 4/6 points in the prem, a bit dissapointed not to beat Wolves though.
Despite my result in the supercup i'm proud of my team for playing well enough to get a chanc to play in that match, i think the outcome could have been different had cabaye not been sent off when i was 1 -0 up, but you cant win them all :L

September Summary:

Carling Cup -

Champions League Group Stage -

Summary:

Overall a good month, I'm still unbeaten in the prem and i'm through to the next round of the Caring cup. The only dissapointment was the away game at the San Siro where i lost to Milan but i was hoping for a draw at best so i suppose its not to bad Hopefully i can push on now and carry on my unbeaten premier league run because i'm aiming for top 3 this season :D

Decided to start again with the Toon last night after following your story and had a monster session. Top of the league after 21 league games!! Crazy, just hope I can keep it up...can't wait to finish work and get back on it!

As you can see I generated real good money and spent relatively little of it. I was really lucky with injuries which was a good job as I left myself with a real small squad but I figured I'm generally only playing one game a week.

Paid off big time. I'm now in January and the board gave me the chance to revise my expectations / budgets and even just keeping them the same (top half finish) they have given me £25M to spend...Happy Days.

So in Mid Jan and I have just sold Guthrie for about £2M and Mcadden to Liverpool for £3.9M. I bid £3.5M for Sturridge as he was starting to perform well and score goals which was accepted so just signed him permanently. Aslo have just signed Gareth Barry who wasd transfer listed in the reserves for £1.9M (Although he is on Massive wages so not sure I did the right thing but need quality cover for Tiote while he is at Cup of Nations). And to cap it off have just signed Doumbia for about £16.5m over 36 months ( although he also is currently at Cup of Nations so not played him yet).

Players Like M'Vila, Hazard, Jovetic, Tevez are interested in playing for me and I could probably afford one more Big signing especially if I sell a couple more playes but don't want to rock the boat as the team is performing so well and I don't want to disrupt the harmony. It's difficult don't know whether to stick or twist.

Apologies for clogging your story...won't do another such long post...just BUZZING for the Toon and wanted to share my experience!!

I think the only mistake that i might have made is not selling my fringe players at the start because i havent had a massive budget for the last 2 seasons, even after my champions league success the board only give me a budget of 10m. The reason I haven't sold as many though because I like to have a big squad that can cope with injurys susspensions and all the cup games that i am now involved in. But after reading what you have said I think i might sell more now because my wages are sky hight to :(

Oh and how old is santana and how good is he????

Santana is 28 or 29 so not a long term option but for an immediate impact for a second tier side like Newcastle, Everton, Villa etc he must be one of the best signings I can think of. Not sure if he will be worth signing in your second season but worth a look. I will probably listen to offers for him in the summer as I always try to sell players before they get to 30.

I always get rid of any dead wood, even if you can't sell you can sometimes get good loan fees which I managed to do. Like you say they just clog the wage bill and I feel if I wouldn't be happy with them playing in a big game there is just no point keeping them at the club, rather throw youth in if necessary.

Obviously I will try to increase squad depth next year when I hope to be playing European Football, to be honest its worked well this year having a small squad as otherwise its difficult getting players enough time on the pitch.

Forgot to say before I also signed Younes Kaboul in Jan for £3.5M ish which I also though a steal...again he was in the reserves at spurs.

Summary:

I am very pleased with how this month as I am still unbeaten in the Premier League and I got through to the next roun of the Carling Cup I have been particurly impressed with Sturridge this month as he got 5 goals, although 3 came in 1 game but he has looked sharp and has been great so far in my 3rd year of management :D

Overall I had a decent month, in the Premier League I took 9 points but I was vey dissapointed to see my unbeaten run come to an end at home After that I was hoping to bounce back with a win at Hawthorns but West Brom took their chance. Luckily I managed to win the next 3 games and pick up 9 points :)
The Champions League is going well once again with a good away win at Steaua and I got revenge on AC Milan by thrashing them 3-0 at home I'm currently sitting 3rd in the league so the future looks bright for the Toon Army. :D

then when you want to upload the image go to my computer etc get the screenshot imgur will upload it then click the screenshot you want to upload get the direct link (email & im)copy the code then back onto here click the image button or just ctrl + p paste the code and it should appear
