Sunderland 2-3(ET) Chelsea - League Cup - Ramires, F.Torres, J.Mata
Man City 0-2 Chelsea - Premier League - F.Torres(2)
It wasn't the start to the month were looking for, but a draw at West Brom was a fortunate result for Chelsea after being outmatched by West Brom who were bottom of the at the time but have since risen to twelve.
And another blip in the European Cup as a poor performance away to Zenit was rewarded with a result that was rewarding and handed Zenit their first in the group and has left it wide open after three as Chelsea and Maccabi Haifa surprisingly are joint top on six points, Zenit on four points and Shaktar on just one point.
A dramatic win over Sunderland after being 2-1 behind with 4 minutes left to in extra time and then snatching two goals to lead the through to the next round and handing a home tie with one of their West London rivals Fulham.
Easy victories over Wigan and have kept Chelsea still up at the top end of the table in second place going into the Man City who are top by just one point which left an exciting left to end the month and decide who would be top come the end of it. A pretty even game throughout but Chelsea defended so much better than City and hit them hard in the last 15 minutes with two goals from Fernando Torres to hand a 2-0 victory to Chelsea over their title rivals. This win could be crucial come the end of the season and has put Donnelly's men top of the table above City to end the month.
Life at Chelsea started slow but has ended up being a great start with eleven wins in fifteen , and if this type of form continues Chelsea certainly will be big challengers this season. Chelsea boss Donnelly won his second manager of the month award after staying undefeated in the League and big wins to keep his side top of the table.

Chelsea v Sunderland - Premier
QPR v Chelsea - Premier League
Shaktar v Chelsea - European Cup
Chelsea v Wolves - Premier League
Donnelly will want to continue his form as Chelsea boss so far into this month and extend their lead at the top all their League , although a West London derby could prove to be a tough game as in derby games form go's out the window as its often said. Two tough games in the European Cup but in the form Chelsea are in they wont see why they cannot qualify from their group after these two games. Ending the month is a home game against in form Wolves. Lets hope of another good month from Chelsea and keep the performances up and most importantly the wins
You seem to have a good thing going, and your results should improve.
Only thing I can suggest is using your youth properly. Even if your 17-18 year olds aren't good enough for first team appearances, give them the last ten minutes in games.
Your story seems to be an interesting read, good luck for the rest of the seaon and lets see if you can bring success to Chelsea again.
Make your posts more interesting. Try to use images and/or paragraphs.
Your results seem to be good-ish, although you should really be dominating games rather than having to come from behind, methinks.

Chelsea 2-2 Zenit - European Cup - F.Lampard(pen), J.Terry
Chelsea 2-0 Sunderland - Premier League - E.Hazard, K.Rekik
QPR 1-1 Chelsea - Premier League - D.Drogba
Shaktar 1-0 Chelsea - European Cup
Chelsea 1-0 Wolves - Premier League - D.Sturridge
The month began with a draw with Zenit somehow, after hammering Zenit throughout the game and going 2-0 up before half time through an overhead kick from captain John Terry, Zenit got back in to the game against the run of play, this game proved that Chelsea needed to be more clinical and may prove costly at some point. With two games left in the group anyone is in with a good chance of qualifying, as Chelsea in first place with 7 points ranging to bottom bottom of the group Shaktar who have 4 points, so anything is possible in this group the way things stand.
Eden Hazard picked up an injury in the 2-0 win over Sunderland and it will keep him out for around 3-4 weeks, this will be a big loss but Chelsea will look to carry on their fine form. Young 16 year old Rekik who signed from Man City got his second goal for the club in the Sunderland game, and is making steady but excellent progress at the club and looks like he will be a star.
Somehow Chelsea only drawed with their West London Rivals QPR after hammering them throughout and only to concede last minute to draw 1-1, Frank Lampard missing a penalty proved to be crucial and Chelsea have failed to take advantage and go above title rivals City, and now are both level on 27 points, with Chelsea edging them to the top on goal difference.
A deserved loss to Shaktar has left Chelsea in third place on 7 points in the group with one game remaining. Zenit first on 8 points,Shaktar second on 7 points, Maccabi Haifa last place on 6 points, so anyone is in with a chance of qualifying for the next stage, but a must win for Chelsea against Maccabi is needed to guarantee them through to the next stage. They would of liked it a lot simpler than this but aslong as they get through in the end I dont think they will care now.
To end the month was a home fixture against in form Wolves who were fifth going into the game. Also with Man City losing in an earlier fixture at home to QPR 2-1 and dropping below City rivals Man United and Spurs, but Chelsea were looking to take advantage and go three points clear of them at the top and one point clear of United, and two clear of Spurs. Two injuries in the first half to their defence didnt effect a comfortable victory over Wolves, although it should of been more Chelsea wont care as they have gone back top of they table, one point clear of Man United in second. Only around a week out is expected for both Ashley Cole and recent signing Sime Vrsaljko. So not the best of months for Chelsea but still on an unbeaten run in English competition and have stayed top of the table and will just look to improve in Europe as they will face tougher opposition in the future in the European Cup.

Fulham 2-3 Chelsea - Premier League- J.Terry, E.Hazard, D.Drogba
Chelsea 1-1 Man United - Premier League - D.Drogba
A start to the month that wouldn't of been welcomed by anyone at Chelsea, it really was a game of two halves at the Emirates, a great display from Arsenal in the first half putting them 3-0 up before half time, and after a rollicking from their manager the Chelsea lads had a great second half display just not as clinical as Arsenals pulling one goal back through Torres. Seven players where booked for Chelsea which was a bit out of their character and therfore were fined by the F.A.
Chelsea were looking for a response in a must win game against Maccabi Haifa, anything less will mean they fail to qualify from the group stage. 4-0 after just eleven minutes is exactly the type of performance they needed and wanted, Torres completed his hat trick on the 39th minute and three minutes later had to go off injured and is out for 2months which is an incredible loss. 5-0 up at half time, three more where added after the break and handed Chelsea and incredible victory which could of been more as Drogaba missed a penalty. An amazing performance from Chelsea has given them a huge luft and have deleivered when needed most. This game broke Chelsea's record for highest scoring game and quickest goal, as Torres scored after just 18 seconds. The London club have now qualified for the Knockout Stage of the competition after finishing in second place on 10points while Zenit topped the group on 11 points after a final group game win over Shaktar.
Donnellys men continued their fine goal scoring form with a 7-0 win in the Blackburn game, and in the absence of Fernando Torres, Lacina Traore took his chance after many appearences from the bench to make his first start, and stepped up to the mark with his first Chelsea goals and bagging himself a hat trick. Eden Hazard marked his return from injury with a goal and a few assists. Another dominant and easy victory for Chelsea has kept them at the top of the table by goal difference over Man City, and with wins like this will certainly help that goal difference. This game lead to the immediate sacking of Blackburn manager Steve Kean after being in 19th place, and feel the time is right to change their man in charge to ex player Alan Shearer.
Another comfortable victory away at Aston Villa, but a few days later Chelseas fine form was ended with a draw against in form Everton who are surprisingly pushing for a European Cup spot. A great performance didnt earn the win Chelsea deserved, and they will be hoping this result wont affect their title bid.
An easy win in the League Cup quarter final over Fulham has placed them in the semi-final of the competition, but a red card to in form striker Lacina Traore did take the shine away from the win slightly but their fans will be more happy of progressing. A few days later Chelsea faced their West London rivals again but this time away from home, and an entertaining game was produced with Chelsea winning 3-2, and John Terry scoring for the second game running and both against Fulham, and Hazard continued his fine form with a man of the match performance. With Man United and Spurs both losing, and Man City drawing this win put Chelsea back top of the table on goal difference, and heading into a title contender game against Man United.
What everyone thought would be a close game between Chelsea and Man United was far from it as Chelsea absoulutly destroyed United but still somehow only managed to draw, after an own goal from David Luiz late on, Chelsea will kick themselves for not taking all the chances they had while United only had two, at least they didnt lose against a title rival and still are in with a great chance of retaining the Premier League. The Chelsea lads will have to pick themselves up from the late goal they conceded as they have a game in two days time in the New Year.
Competition Draws
League Cup Semi Final-Swansea City
F.A Cup Third Round-Everton
European Cup First Knockout Stage-FC Barcelona
Chelsea and Arsenal have been avoiding each other throughout this tournament as the only big sides left in the competition from early stages, and have done again as Chelsea draw Swansea City in the semi final and will play the first leg away, if the come through this round they will face either Arsenal or West London rivals QPR in the final. Chelsea will believe they should win this tie, and especially over the two games.
A tough draw for what is the first round for Premier League teams, but at least it is a home one against in form Everton, they will believe it could of been better but will find themselves happy as it could of been worse, either way Chelsea will do their all to make it to the fourth round.
The first Knockout round has seen Chelsea pair up against European giants and competition favourites Barcelona. Donnelly and his men will be gutted that they have come up against Guardiolas men, but as the Chelsea boss said 'to win this competition, you need to beat the best at some point, so lets make a start now'. They only have themselves to blame by dropping points in the group and finishing second, but if they win this tie they will feel the are genuine contenders to go on and lift the European Cup for the first time.

Chelsea v Everton - FA Cup Third Round
Swansea v Chelsea - League Cup Semi Final First Leg
Stoke City v Chelsea - Premier League
Chelsea v Swansea - Premier League
Chelsea v Swansea - League Cup Semi Final Second Leg
Norwich v Chelsea - Premier League (Possible FA Cup Tie if advance from Third Round)
A number of fixtures with Swansea City, one at home in the Premier League, while the other two are the semi final of the League Cup, which over the two games will feel they should progress to the final and face either Arsenal or QPR. A tough opening to their FA Cup campaign but one they will feel they should come out on top against in form Everton. Newcastle at home should provide a good showing but Chelsea will feel with the home advantage they should win this tough fixture. Two tricky away games to Stoke and Norwich are the other games this month, but know they should win these type of games. The fixture with Norwich may change to an FA Cup tie if either team advances in the competition. Come the end of the month Chelsea will hope to still be in all competition and right up at the top of the table still.
