Chairman Manda Rigby rescues Bath City with £140k cash injection.

Manda Rigby has ploughed £140,000 of her own money into Bath City since taking over as chairman of the cash-strapped club ten months ago.

The Bath & North East Somerset councillor revealed the level of her investment after the club unveiled its three-year plan and strategy document.

Included in the three-year is also the decision of the club to part ways with manager Adie Britton. Manda Rigby believes that the club needs a breath of fresh air to progress along with her ambition. The appointment of a new manager will be announced soon.

Breaking News!: Bath City FC announced the appointment of unknown Malaysian manager.

In what may be seen as a surprise appointment, the Bath City FC board have announced the appointment of a virtually unknown Malaysian, Ahmad Firdausi Hafiz Pawira, as their new manager.

The 25 years-old, was never heard of in world football before. His non-existing reputation and inexperience raised a lot of questions regarding the judgement of chairman Manda Rigby.

A press conference with the new Bath City manager will be held later today.

What is that chairman doing out of the kitchen?

Jokes aside, what happened to your Lecce story?

1st Press Conference

Reporter: Good evening Mr Pawira. How do you feel with your appointment as the new Bath City FC manager?

Me: I have always wanted to be a manager of a football club. I would like to thank the Bath City board for having their faith in me and I promise to do everything I could to bring success for this club.

Reporter: That is good to hear. No offense, but we've never heard anything about you. Can you tell us something about yourself?

Me: I am just a normal guy who love football. I've never actually been an excellent football player, but I think I can make it in the managerial world.

Reporter: So, you are virtually a nobody? What makes the Bath City FC board chose you?

Me: Ermmm, I am actually quite impressive with the computer game - Football Manager...

(Awkward silence...)

Reporter: So, you are appointed because of the computer game, Football Manager?

Me: Ermmm, yes...??

Reporter: (Virtually all of the reporters in the room with their hands up in the air throwing various questions)

Manda Rigby: (took over the mic) Alright, that's it for today. Thanks all.

I would've said being appointed because of a football game was impossible, but it has happened in real-life, so I guess it is just going to become a trend :D

LOL. I am out of my depth with my Lecce save. I found it just impossible to manage the finance. I am -3mil off after 2 months. That with my wage budget intact. Apparently the wage budget, attendance and tix price are just out of sync. :(

Yeah, I stole that idea from the news :P

1st Meeting With the Chairman

Manda Rigby: Welcome to Bath City Ahmad! Or what should I call you really?

Me: Thanks Manda. I am glad to be here. You can call me Firdausi.

Manda Rigby: Alright Firdausi. Now let me give you a tour around this club. Come on here!

Me: Great!

Manda Rigby: This is our home ground, the Twerton Park. It can host 8880 crowds at one time with 1006 of them seated. This stadium is ours, so there is no rental fees or whatsoever. Other facilities include:

- Fairly basic training facilities
- Basic youth facilities (Rented)
- Fairly basic corporate facilities
- Basic junior coaching
- Basic youth recruitment

So, what do you think about all that?

Me: Good, good. Obviously I am looking for some improvement in the future, but as for this moment, everything is in place. So it's good.

Manda Rigby: Great! Now lets head to the dressing room.

Me: (Nod)

Manda Rigby: Here is our club's strips.

Home

Away

Go ahead and have both kits! You are the club's manager after all.

Me: Thanks Manda!

Manda Rigby: Alright, enough of me talking. Do you wan't to ask anything Firdausi?

Me: Yes! I would like to know the club's expectation for this season and if I would get any transfer kitty?

Manda Rigby: I totally forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me Firdausi. We expect you to lead us towards the playoff for this year. To help you out with that, we've made available of a €1.5k of transfer fund and €5.04k/week of wage budget. The club is currently spending €4.58k/week on wages.

Me: Fair enough. I can work with that.

Manda Rigby: Alright, I guess that is it for today. I am hoping that you would have a long and successful career with us!

Me: I certainly hope so Manda. See you later!

Manda Rigby: Bye!

Squad Analysis

Me: Manda, I've compiled my plans for the squad members ahead of the current season. Have a look.

Manda Rigby (Chairman): Brilliant! I can see that you are rearing to go already. Bring it here. (Grabbed the report sheet)

Goalkeepers

the obviously superior GK, Glyn Garner, is deemed as not good enough and is on high wages. Hence, he is on his way out. Will be looking for a better GK on lower wages. Inferior Jason Mellor will be kept as back up. I am hoping that he won't need to feature at all considering his poor attributes. Poor Jason.

Defenders

Despite of the low recommendation from my Assistant Manager on most of the defenders, their attributes actually are alright. Mark Preece will have to look for a new club. He is one of the worst defender in my team and he is on high wages too. Straight forward decision. Will be looking to sign a left back on loan as back up to Dan Ball and maybe another loanee who can play anywhere at the back.

Midfielders

Adie Harris is definitely out for the usual reason. Not good enough and high wages. Josh Low and Luke Cummings will play at right back so, the team is kind of short in numbers in midfield. Probably an area with the most number of newcomers.

Strikers

I am thinking of playing with a single-striker system. Hence 3 strikers is enough. Kurtis Guthrie is definitely out and yes, for the usual reason. Will be looking for an upgrade in this area, a sure starter.

Manda Rigby (Chairman): Interesting. I am not going to get in your way with how you want to shape up the team as long as you keep it within budget alright?

Me: Sure thing boss! I'll make sure we won't get in the red.

Manda Rigby (Chairman): Anything else?

Me: Nope. That's it. See ya!

Manda Rigby (Chairman): Bye!

Tactics

(Team Meeting) Me: Alright lads, we are expected to fight for the playoff spot this season and I think we have the capabilities to do that! To do so, I've designed two systems that you have to work hard on adapting and implementing during this pre-season. If you do it right, there is no question that in the end of the season, we'll reap the rewards!

First off, the 4-2-3-1 Control tactic.

This tactic will be mainly used at home ground or in games that we fully expect to win. This is a short passing and fluid tactic. I want you to win, but at the same time I want you to play football the right way too. Keep the ball well, work it into the box. The coaches will provide further inputs later in the training ground.

Next, the 4-1-2-2-1 Counter tactic.

Pretty similar, but a quicker, narrower, and more direct tactic. I want you to exploit the flanks. Less talk and more work. Now let's head to the training ground and work on these two tactics shall we!
Nice combination of tactics. Should do the job :)
I love LLM stories,good luck !
