FMSE Features

Even though the initial alpha version is missing plenty of features that we're still working on adding, it's already packed with a plethora of options and running lightning fast. The focus is clearly on the editing side of things. The scouting part will grow in due time.

Once we reach beta, FMSE17 shall have a much wider range of functionality to meet the needs of our most demanding users. That won't take as long as you might expect, so make sure to vote for the feature you wish to see next.

We intend to issue weekly updates, so there will be something new to look forward to every single week.

Whenever there's a new official patch out, we aim to update within a couple of hours. And while update time is dependent on external factors (such as patch complexity or other unpredictable situations), we'll do our best to deliver updates faster than any other third party tool out there.

Here's an overview of the currently available key features...

    FMSE17 v0.2.1.0 changelist
Added support for FM Touch (though IGA functionality for FMT is not available yet).

@linie: Wouldn't that cause trouble with the league(s) the club is participating in? I mean we probably need to add editing for competitions before making that possible.
  • linie's avatar
Looking forward. Would it be possible to change a clubs nation/based nation/continental cup nation? Talking about playing FMT.

@LFC1 it's not an overlay, therefore there's no limitation as to whether you're playing fullscreen or windowed. The data is shown directly in the game's screen!
  • LFC1's avatar
This all sounds awesome. do you have to be in windowed mode to use the overlay like in genie scout or can you see hidden attributes in game in the fullscreen mode?

@veezy: It works with the latest 17.2.1 patch, not with earlier FM17 versions. Whenever there's a new patch, we'll add support for it asap.
  • veezy's avatar
Very clean just wondering does this work on every FM17 updated or only 0.2.0.0

I've just published an article that answers certain questions that popped in the comments. It's a bit long, but outlines the story behind the FMSE project and describes what you can expect in the next updates.

@Mustee13: We don't have an ETA on when we'll add support for 32-bit. It's on our list, just not a priority at the moment.

@taverham4: Thanks for the kind words :)
  • Mustee13's avatar
Why there is not FMSE for 32bit Windows? Is it coming or noway?

I'm staggered that there are people complaining about paying for this app. The cost is minimal, and yet it seems such a powerful app already, and with the prospect of more updates, I'm delighted. The in-game assistant feature alone is worth the cost. All I can say is keep up the good work!

@Sadub: FM Touch will be supported by next week actually. Staff editing will arrive a bit later, but that should also take place later in February. ;)
  • Sadub's avatar
Hi, I use FM Touch version for which I see Stam said it will be supported later in February. I hope by then you will also include one important feature, staff editing. I believe you all came upon chairman who interfers in transfer offers. In my case he deliberately sold my key player just before transfer window closed and he sold him for peanuts. So, I am looking forward to this feature.

So, to help everyone with their questions on a couple of things I see popping up every now and then:
I'm the developer. I have never said anything everyone is writing here about charging for my work. My apps are always free to scout / paid to edit. Simple as that. I have nothing to do with any quotes you write here. And as I am the developer on this, it's also my decision to take, on if and how I'm going to charge for it.
I'm a software developer, and I have the habit to charge for my work. Doing this takes a good 20-30 hours of work per week. Before you ask "do I have to pay" or "why are you not giving this for free", I'll stop you there and tell you I didn't stumble on this. I worked to create it. And I can say with certainty that if you work, I'm sure you're not doing it for free yourself.

@DrGerry you don't "have" to pay for anything. I'm not forcing this down your throat, you know.

@Lenzar: We stopped supporting FMRTE when it turned premium, that hasn't changed. We also made an effort to deliver a free editor (FMEL) back in FM13. That started well, but the project barely remained active over the next 3 seasons and eventually died as its developer never had enough time for voluntary work.

You see, being a volunteer developer simply doesn’t work for long. Eventually real life knocks on your door and when you actually find some time for FM, you’d rather play the game to have fun than write code for an app that will receive complaints for having slow updates.

@Mech0z: Thanks for the offer, but you've guessed correctly.

@DrGerry: We're not forcing anyone to pay for a license. FMSE is still in alpha, but we're here to stay and have already showcased significant progress within 1 week rolling out updates almost every second day.

Surely we have a lot of ground to cover, but this software is already superior in certain areas (speed, ram usage, iga). It will only get better and I believe the prospect of FMSE is bright.
  • Lenzar's avatar
Didn't you guys oppose FMRTE for charging?
  • Mech0z's avatar
Btw if you need C#/wpf coders then say so, allthough I guess this is closed source :)
  • DrGerry's avatar
Well, I remember the critics to FMRTE when they start selling this software. The worse part is this is not a final version and we have to pay for it.

@Mech0z: Yes, the plan is to add support for FM Touch by next week ;)
  • Mech0z's avatar
Will touch be supported in the future?

Hi @andreas259, can you please send an email to [email protected] and let me know what exactly you searched for that caused the app to show the error?
Unless you saved data back to the game, there is no way the app caused your game to crash.
  • andreas259's avatar
Bought the license today. When i search inside the editor it says that an error has been found so i have to look through every single club to find the one i'm looking.Once i do that i play fm as i do normally and after a few minutes my game crashes. That never happens so i guess it has to do with the editor.Any solutions please? Thanks in advance

FM Scout Editor 17 Update 0.1.7.1 was made available yesterday :)
    FMSE17 v0.1.7.1 changelist

@fankol: Not even 1 week has passed since the FMSE launch & we've already released 2 hotfix updates that include fixes and improvements. If you don't appreciate this work and you're unhappy with the prospect of this software, we can refund your license and cancel it immediately.
  • thanoulas's avatar
@fankol what exactly is the error? If you have an error to report, please do so by writing in the forum, or sending an email to [email protected].

Indeed the changes were small. That's why it's called a HOTFIX update. To address bugs. Not to add features, two days after the latest new features.

Finally, what does FMRTE have to do with FMSE? I fail to see what you mean.
Editing tactics is impossible for a third party program (no, fmrte can't do it either) and I can't understand what you mean by "reporting players"!
