How to install Audio Commentary on FM16
1. Exit FM16 Completely2. Backup your "events" & "sounds" folders
\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2016\data\events\
\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2016\data\sounds\
Simply copy these folders to somewhere else out of the FM16 installation directory, so if something goes wrong we can restore them.
Once backup is made, delete the "sounds" folder.
3. Apply Patch
Move the extracted folders "events" and "sounds" to:
\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2016\data\
You will be asked to merge / overwrite some files and folders, click OK/YES to confirm.
You have a backup of those from the previous step so nothing to worry about.
4. Delete Events Files In Updates Directory
No need to touch "events" files in "updates" directory, but in case any odd thing happen, it's recommended to delete them.
Backup first of course. Make a copy of the "events" folder within all "update-16XX" directories:
\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2016\data\updates\update-1601\events\
\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2016\data\updates\update-1610\events\
\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2016\data\updates\update-1611\events\
and so on... to somewhere out of the FM16 installation directory.
Then delete all files within. It will be either 1 or 2 files: "match_events.xml" and/or "match_sounds.cfg".
5. In-Game Preferences
Start FM16 and go to "Preferences > Match" tab.
Make sure that "Use sound in match" is ticked and "Volume" slide is high enough.
Then go to "Preferences > Interface" tab.
Click the "Clear Cache" button.
Enable "Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences".
Click the "Reload Skin" button.
That's it. Jump into matches and enjoy!

i use mac btw.
OOOHHH that touched a nerve.....slight over reaction on my part but even more by yourself.
As I said Steam folder (pc anyway) is where ALL Steam games are installed.
So it would be impossible to have FM16 installed but have NO Steam folder.
If you have no Steam directory then you dont have the game...simple as that.
As that is where the game is installed.

Sorry but I have no idea
Thats strange....have you tried putting the downloaded files in the latest update folders (16.1.1 events & sounds)
My post wasn't meant to be 'insulting' or 'correcting' you on the other hand, I'm well aware of your work & others, that I respect, mate. I just typed down what worked out for me which maybe was not necessary on or in this matter, that I say... Fact for me remains that the pack ( s ) is & are working for years just the same. I leave it like it is.
Cheers.
I have used these sounds for years and have always added to updates just as you have to do with name change/license fix files....I am not a NOOB
I only created part of the file...but hey
