- Additionaly, there are 18 teams in Liga 1 Movistar actually and 12 teams in Liga 2 Movistar and they will increase in 2020, in 2020: there will be 20 teams in Liga 1 Movistar and 12 teams in Liga 2 still. The promotion format until 2020 is, the Liga 2 Movistar champion gets promoted directly, the next 6 teams play a playoff (2-7), 2rd and 3rd place get directly into the second phase, and 4th plays vs 6th and 5th vs 7th, the winners play vs 2nd and 3rd respectively. The 2 final winners qualify to a 4 team stage with 2 more teams of Copa Peru (3rd Division) and they play 1 match against each other. The first 2 teams of the 4 get promoted to Liga 1 Movistar and the other 2 get Promoted/Stay in Liga 2 Movistar. Also the Copa Peru champion gets promoted directly to Liga 1 Movistar. So: Liga 1 Movistar relegations (2) and promotions from Liga 2 Movistar (4) until 2020, 1 Champion of Liga 2 Movistar, 1 Champion of Copa Peru, and 2 from the 4 team Playoffs. On the otherside, Liga 2 Movistar gets 2 relegations (the bottom 2 in the table) and 2 promotions from the 4 team Playoffs. 2021 onwards it will be normal Promotions and Relegations, so: 20 teams in Liga 1 Movistar and 12 teams in Liga 2 Movistar. From both divisions 2 bottom teams get relegated and top 2 teams get promoted, Champion and Runner Up from Copa Peru get promoted to Liga 2 Movistar.
So it would be:
