Football Manager 2021 Tactics - Goal Hoarder
Scoring goals seems to be extremely easy on FM21, so I wanted to build a tactic around a solid defence which resulted in 98 league goals (and top scorer with 34 goals), and 28 league clean sheets with Hull City.

I also had best expected goals for and against

Just to see how the tactic would do with another team I chose Dortmund and went on vacation until June. Tougher competition, but Haaland managed 48 league goals in one season, securing the league trophy well ahead of Bayern.

Well I got 2nd in the Championship with Boro. Premier League is a lot more like a roller coaster though. The board want defensive football and this is far from that. Will see if I get sacked or not. Fm 22 will have to wait until it comes down in price :-)

Good luck, Havanaclue. The new goal hoarder for fm22 works wonders though. Only two records over the whole season with Gateshead

Mine only problem with this tactic is that the BWMs get yellow cards and you cannot turn down their tackling at all. Too many resulting in red cards. So I am trying out Segundo Volante on support. Wish me luck

FM Scout made a video where they tried the tactic. Watch it here:

I tweaked it a few days ago with attacking wingers (same position) instead, and the results went through the roof. 15 wins in a row in PL second season. The ball winning midfielders both have rating under 7, so I tried changing to deep lying playmakers, defence. Both had better rating after that, but the team performed worse.

This looks decent in theory, but have you thought about using defensive wingers instead to give it a bit more stability?

Just got hired by Cameroon . They have poor wing backs. So this will be perfect.

I'll give a try with 1860 München in the 2025/26 season.
