There is no style of Football so notorious as Catenaccio. This FM 2019 tactic took my Dulwich side from National South to Championship, all streamed live on twitch.
Catenaccio or The Chain is a tactical system in football with a strong emphasis on defence. In Italian, catenaccio means "door-bolt", which implies a highly organised and effective back-line defence focused on nullifying opponents' attacks and preventing goal-scoring opportunities.
The tactic
Influenced for my love of Italian style tactics this tactic has been incredible for me for Dulwich, starting in the National South and working my way to the Championship currently which is live streamed on twitch.tv/fmscout. This style of tactic I wouldn't use until I usually get to the Premier League but I decided to start using it from day one and bring a Italian emphasis to the club.

Wasn't sold after testing this for half a game, went down 0-1 and switched back to a preferred formation. I decided to try it again, using Dortmund, with Reus as the CAM and this tactic is... great! Even with my backup players it has been shutting down opponents and scoring quite a few goal.
Only problem I seem to be having is that my ST / CF rarely scores, but it's balanced out by having a bunch of other players score regularly. The treasure here seems to be the set pieces, I get a bunch of goals off set pieces and corners from my CBs.
Great tactic, took a team from Liga I (Romania), media prediction 11th and lost the title in the last game of the season...I dominated even the bigger teams from the league and had some unfortunate defeats where the opponents would score once from 1 shot and I would miss 5+ shots.
This tactic is insane. It is the best tactic ever. It is the first tactic that really presses. And forces opponents to make mistakes. I have extraordinary results with Lyon, beat tottenham 9-0, Real 1-3 away. Crazy...https://imgur.com/a/GH9Rv6o
Thanks, assuming this is defensive despite the attacking mentality, I'm been looking for a stingy 4-2-3-1 formation to swap to when I need to shut things down (or lock the bolt in this case).
