Jurgen Klopp's LETHAL 4-2-3-1 (120+ goals)

Jurgen Klopp's famous 4-2-3-1 tactic. Highly aggressive, fast paced football with a very high press, this FM23 tactic really packs a punch scoring tons of goals.

Football Manager 2023 Tactics - Jurgen Klopp's LETHAL 4-2-3-1 (120+ goals)
Welcome to another FM23 tactic release! Today I bring you my Jurgen Klopp 4-2-3-1.

One of my favourite tactics to make each year, due to the highly aggressive, fast paced football you will be playing. You can expect to be playing with a very high press, desire and work rate.

Creating chances upon chances, this tactic really does pack a punch going forward scoring tons of goals. Perfect for attacking minded managers!

We tested with Current team Liverpool, Previous side Dortmund and also Paderborn.

Test 1 - Liverpool

Test 2 - Dortmund

Test 3 - Paderborn

This works pretty well for me. I've actually been using the exact same formation since FM21, but my individual instructions have been very different.

Even with the use of players that don't fit these roles perfectly, the result is superior to what I had been doing on my own. In my current career, I'm managing an Austrian 4th league club - semi-professional with a tiny wage budget of <5k € p/w - where my first season result was a promotion despite not getting active on the transfer market at all.

    Thanks for sharing!

Great tactic! Really efficient even for a german fourth tier squad. Predicted 13th/18, actually 3rd (end of season approaching).
    Good job!

Hey! First person to complain so im interested. Please tell me what you tried to tweak when you noticed the bad results? I would like to work with you on this. No negative comments on the video either so I would love more information please. - Josh

Using this tactic is the closest I've come to getting sacked in over a decade of playing FM, it just absolutely leaks goals. Players constantly punt the ball away, defensively it's as frail as can be and because it's already set up to be so heavy on the attack there are very few changes that can be made to try and up the attacking mentality. Would not recommend for any team that isn't already one of the best teams in the game.
