This tactic will help your team to put pressure on opponents and protect all zones and spaces.
The Philosophy of this tactic is to defend carefully and make sure that your opponents don’t create any good chances. When the job is done and your players get the ball, they will play counter attack with sending long balls into the space behind the opposition defense.
You will have two lines of defense in this tactic. “Purples” will close down opponents and put pressure on them while “Reds” will remain in their positions and protect zones and spaces.
If opponents attack the flanks, you have two defending triangles in two lines (“reds”) in each side and if they come through the middle, you have one defending triangle in front and one square behind them.
Pressing the opponent’s midfielders:
Your DWs and RPM will put pressure on and close down the opposition midfielders and playmakers to make sure that they can’t start their attacks correctly and force them make wrong decisions.
You need midfielders with high work rate and good teamwork and tackling skills.
Your BWM is your most important player on the pitch. Choose the best player in this role.
Also a lethal weapon and fast paced player with good heading and finishing skills is required for the “Poacher” role.
Your DWs need good crossing and quickness.
