It's a simple tactic that encourages slow passing and careful penetration. The tactic retains possession meaningfully and strikes the opposition to devastating effect.
The roles are simple, two wingbacks on either side of the back-4. One ball-playing defender and a central defender for more solidity at the back. The central midfielder on support duty is the playmaker in the team while the ball winning midfielder in the DM position stops attack at source and recycles possession to more creative players.
The trequartista in front should not frighten you, train your striker to play this role and in time he would get used to it. You can also try the tactic with an elite side, I have not done that yet.
Here are the results and the tactic in detail.
