Just this afternoon, I won 4-0 against Pep's Manchester City!
First off, you should know that I used to be a fan of both tiki-taka and counter-attacking tactics, and I always went with a 4-3-3 formation. But then I got bored and challenged myself to create a three-at-the-back tactic. Honestly, it was tough to make it work.
For me, a great tactic needs stability when defending and agility (or variety) when attacking.
I experimented with countless formations and roles—imagine how many hours I spent fine-tuning this one!
At the back, I use a Libero to cover the central gap. In midfield, I have a Volante and a Ball-Winning Midfielder (BWM). The Volante pushes forward, while the BWM stays back, covering the middle along with the Libero. Up front, I have a Raumdeuter (RMD), an Inside Forward (IW), and a Pressing Forward (PF), along with two wingbacks to maintain width. This combination gives you plenty of options when attacking.
Give this tactic a try, and I hope you get great results too!
