Could have got an easier group, but I'm sure you''ll advance:)
@ Lucas. Yeah my goal is to safely make second. 2016 will be a hard year for the team.

Draw for third phase announced

The draw for the next round of qualifying has been announced. We have been picked to represent Group 1 along with El Salvador, Honduras and United States. All matches will take place in 2016 and tickets will be on sale starting January 4th, 2016. "This will be a massive challenge for the country in an already tough year but I feel we are ready."-Mike Korrigan.

Year in review
12/31/15

What a year for Canada!!!!!! 2015 has been one of the best years for our beloved national team. There was so much that happened that everyone from Halifax to Yellowknife will be proud of. We will be talking about these three things; the hire, Gold Cup 2015 and World Cup qualifying.

Well 2015 officially started the tenure of Manager Mike Korrigan, it was a very risky move since he only coached a top level team for a year and a half. So far it has worked out, he has bough success to the country. Thanks two these things, using Canada Hockey and a more structured environment. Best accomplishment is making Canada a top 50 nation.

The Gold Cup was the next major event this year. Canada were considered long shots for the title. It all started June 8th when they shocked Mexico. The run would continue with wins against; Guatemala, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago. After the win against T&T the boys reached the final for the first time since 2000 to play Mexico. Canada would win in the penalty kicks.

Finally Canada opened up World Cup play with a bunch of countries in the Caribbean. Canada was expected to roll over the competition so it was not as important. The team started out shaky with a tie against Bahamas but the next 5 matches the club would win every match. Montreal's Cameron Hudson was the star of the round. Now they are in the third round and will face USA, Honduras and El Salvador.

2015 was a great year for Canada and hopefully we see the same next year. Other than the World Cup the country will be apart of the Copa America. If Canada survives 2016 with a bunch of wins over quality nations, you know they are for real. Good luck and Happy New Year!!

De Guzman retires
5/26/16

It is officially a sad day for fans of the national soccer team. Captain Julian De Guzman has officially retired form the sport. The most capped player in Canada History (89) decided to call it quits early this year after not finding a club. Could his retirement spell trouble for Canada? It is still to be seen. Other notable retires from the national team include; Rob Friend, Josh Simpson, Olivier Occean, Patrice Bernier and Iain Hume. All of these fine players have made it to the coaching staff of the national team. We wish De Guzman luck in his future.

CHICAGO,IL- Our national team has done it again and they keep their unbeaten streak alive in World Cup Qualifying as they go on to beat the US 4-2. Many were doubting that Canada could even tie a match in the group since all the key players from the last several years have retired. The squad who average age is 25 proved everyone wrong. The highlights came from Kyle Bekker and Nikolas Ledgerwood. They both scored their first goals for the national team. Next match is in Canada against El Salvador on the 14th.

Big losses despite victory
6/15/16 @ 12:30 PM

TORONTO- Despite a big 3-0 win over El Salvador the Canucks will be with out the services of striker Cameron Hudson (ankle injury) and Dejan Jakovic (broken arm). Both will be out of the squad for Copa America. Junior Hoilett and Dwayne Boytchuck will be replacing them.

Update @ 3:30 PM- Boytchuck has gone down with an injury and will be replaced.

Update @ 5:16 PM- Manager Michael Korrigan has announced that Xander Pera of L'Impact will be the new player.

Update @ 7:30 PM- Due to roster cut downs Pena has been cut from the squad

Oh no! Really sorry about the injuries but nevertheless you will find a kid that you didn't know was good, but well done on the win vs USA!
This Pena guy will be the back up to the backups backup.

Copa America Friendlies

Copa America
7/16/16

Copa America is finally over for Canada. They should not be disappointed in their loss since they played well against two very good squads in Argentina and Colombia. None of the players seemed to be upset since the main focus is World Cup Qualifying. That gets back underway in September.
