NEWCASTLE UNITED
THE KINNEAR CHRONICLES

Newcastle United.
Once a club with great aspirations, a club that won titles and stocked their trophy cabinet with silverware, a club that was one of the best teams in England. Now, Newcastle, despite their place in the Premier League, are commonly known as inconsistent, drab and without a special something that teams like Manchester United, Chelsea and the other top dogs prize. Their aspirations are bleak, the title is beyond reach, their trophy cabinet is dusty and old and they certainly don't rival the title of best club in England.

It is not a lack of passion and support that has led to this time of trophy drought and lack of success, as Newcastle boasts the title of the tenth best supported club in all of Europe, only edged on English soil by Arsenal and Manchester United. It is not their squad, either... one could argue that Newcastle have several players worthy of European football. Even management, whilst sometimes unconvincing, has not been apocalyptic, with legends such as Sir. Bobby Robson coaching the club.

Why can't Newcastle do better? Why are they doomed to forever yo-yo up and down the Premier League table? Will they ever win the Premier League?

Who knows.
Good luck mate :P

Pardew Departs St. James' Park

http://blog.oddslife.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Alan-Pardew-NUFC.jpg
Alan Pardew has resigned as manager of Newcastle United following a sub par season from the magpies that saw them finishing 16th.

Alan Pardew's resignation was divulged by Newcastle United's Director of Football, Joe Kinnear, this morning, before it was confirmed by Pardew himself. Pardew's resignation comes only weeks after the end of a disappointing season resulting in Newcastle finishing only two places above the drop, only a season after finishing in a European place.

"I have been thinking quite a lot lately and I do think that the best option for everyone, including myself, is to part ways. Last season was challenging for many reasons- injuries, the added pressure of Europe, among other things. I do respect Newcastle as a club and I will continue to follow them and wish them luck, but personally I feel it's in my, and Newcastle's, best interest to look elsewhere for work."
-Alan Pardew

Pardew's future at the club was a large talking point at the end of last season for Newcastle fans, many feeling that his fate was the sack- others were less critical and hoped to see him re-create the wonders of the previous season, in which they finished 5th.

Joe Kinnear was recently appointed Director of Football by Mike Ashley and has been put in charge of transfers, so far, he has acquired the signature of Loic Remy on a one season loan. Fans have been more than critical on the subject of his appointment, and it seems that Pardew was not too happy either.

"Yes it is true, Alan Partridge has gone and resigned. Oh, hang on, I wasn't allowed to say that. Forget that I said that. I've won the premier league three times, by the way."
-Joe Kinnear accidentally admitted earlier today.

It is unknown at this time wether Joe Kinnear will take over the role of manager or a new face will be brought in, but many Newcastle fans have their fingers crossed that it will be the latter.
I LOVE the Joe Kinner quote :))
Loving the Kinnear quote xD

Well he'll be a regular in this story soon enough. ;)
Like the others said, I love the Joe Kinnear quote. Deservedly, Pardrew should've been sacked this season, but Ashley made a HUGE mistake by offering him a deal until 2018.. A 1 season wonder at the BPL, imo.

You may well be right. However, I am happy with him at the moment IRL.
Nice start, looking forward to more regular updates when FM14 is out :)
