Spurs have announced the signings of Leandro Damiao and Nuri Sahin this week. They join from Internacional and Real Madrid respectively.



Leandro Damiao joins from Brazilian side Internacional for a fee of 36 million. The big Brazilian striker has proved to be a vital player for Internacional over the last 4 seasons, scoring 55 goals in 101 appearances. The born goalscorer has been capped 23 times for the Brazilian national team, scoring 10 goals. It is thought that Villas-Boas had been interested in signing the player ever since he took charge of Tottenham. Villas-Boas described the player as "a born goalscorer" and "pure class".



Sahin is the second signing. The Turkish international joins from Real Madrid for a fee of 14.5 million. The midfielder was deemed surplus to requirement at the Bernabéu hence being sold. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Liverpool and the other half on loan at Dortmund. Sahin joined Madrid at the start of the 2011-12 season but has never been a real success there. André Villas-Boas described his new signing as "a creative young midfielder" and "simply wonderful". It is thought that he will be vital to Sours league campaign this season.

Meanwhile, right back Kyle Naughton has left the club to join Swansea on a season long loan. The other player to leave is Christian Eriksen. The Danish international joins Liverpool on a season long loan.

Spurs have completed the signing of 2 young prospects today, Alen Halilovic and Markku Makalainen, from Dinamo and Leverkusen respectively.


The first of the two signings is Croatian midfielder Alen Halilovic from Dinamo. The fee is thought to be 4.8 million. André Villas-Boas is thought to of been a big fan of Alen Halilovic and watching him in the U21 Euro's persuaded him to try and buy him. The 17 year old has been capped 13 times for the Croatia U21 side, scoring 2 goals. During his time a Dinamo he has made 10 senior appearances scoring 1 goal.

Tottenham Hotspur have today complete the signing of young Russian striker Arthur Andreev from Rubin.


Andreev joins from Russian side Rubin for a fee of £130K. The 15 year old can play anywhere along the left side of the pitch. At the age of 15 he has become the youngest ever player to play for the Russian U21 team. The young player spent last season at Rubin where he made 1 senior appearance. Villas-Boas described the player as "talented" and "one for the future".

46' SAVE Lloris makes a wonderful save to deny Demba Ba a goal from a close range header.

60' DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION Livermore and Dembélé come on to replace Sahin and Sandro.

64' OFFSIDE Lampard passes Kakuta the ball who is half a yard passed the last defender.

76' SUBSTITUTION Spurs make there final change with Kelly coming on to replace Fábio.

89' GOAL 2-0 to Spurs, Ayew get the ball and runs at the goalkeeper, he places a cheeky chip shoot which ends up in the back of the net.

STV: What do you think of your new manager André Villas-Boas?

Damiao: André é um gerenciador de brilhante, ele sabe muito sobre futebol (André is a brilliant manager, he knows so much about football)

Sahin: André is a great manager, and a great friend.

Halilovic: André je sjajna osoba i zna toliko takti?ki mudar (André is a great person and knows so much tactical wise)

Makalainen: For a young manager he simply brilliant.

STV: Who do you think the best player at the club is?

Damiao: Tem que ser André Ayew, ele é de classe pura. (It has to be André Ayew, he is pure class)

Sahin: Leandro Damiao, he is a born goalscorer

Halilovic: André Ayew, on ima neki pravi talent. (André Ayew, he has some real talent.)

Makalainen: Probably Hugo Lloris, he is a world class keeper.

STV: Who is you favorite teammate at the club so far?

Damiao: Meus compatriotas Sandro, ele está me ajudando a aprender Inglês. (My fellow countrymen Sandro, he is helping me learn English.)

Sahin: Kyriakos Papadopoulos, he has made me feel really welcome.

Halilovic: Vjerojatno Vlad Chiriches, on je jako dobar prijatelj. (Probably Vlad Chiriches, he's a really good friend.)

Makalainen: Either Aaron Lennon or Lewis Holtby, they are both really nice.
