August Report - 2014

Wolves 1-3 Preston North End
W.Keane (33, 59)
Wright (37)
Lopez

A mirror opening fixture as to the start of last season, Wolves away. Although a tough fixture we went into this game on the back of an amazing pre-season and it certainly showed with our finishing. In this game I gave a start to some of our debutants most of all top earner Will Keane who yes baged himself 2 great goals!. We were lucky that Ward got sent off in the second half to make it 10 a side otherwise we might of been under the cosh a lot more. great to get off the board with 3 points.

Preston North End 2-2 Fleetwood
Frimpong (15)
Wright (94)
It just had to happen didn't it... my old team again!.. They defiantly came to Deepdale for revenge from last year as It did took us penalty's to defeat them but we got the job done. There was certainly a fight from Fleetwood as they managed a late equalizer twice to take it to pens were no-one was missing... it was unreal however it was Gartland who was the hero who will be thrilled for th3 young lad. We march on to play Reading away.

Preston North End 3-2 Southampton
Boruc (16)
Højbjerg (61)
W.Keane (61)
Højbjerg
Second league game of the season and we are up against promotion favourites Southampton. I told the player to really bring their A game and to show the press and the rest of the league that we deserve to be in the Championship......we did just that! people will defiantly be talking about us as we are now sat 1st atop of the table after a victory over a prem rated team.

Brighton 0-0 Preston North End
Gartland

Brighton are up next and this isn't the easiest place to come. Near enough 30'000 fans packed in to see a bore draw, I'll take the point thank you. It says it all when your goal keeper is MOTM, the game was pretty even but with both teams only managing one shot on target is was a day to forget for both sets of attacking players.

Leeds 1-2 Preston North End
Burns (8)
Højbjerg (78)
Burns

Another massive rivalry in the form of PNEvLeeds. The fans will be desperate for a win in this game... we got off to a great start with a tidy finish from Burns and then from then on it put us at ease. glad we managed to get the second goal cushion as that conceded goal late on could of made us share the points.

Preston North End 3-2 Blackburn
Burns (29)
Lopez (73)
Hume (103)
Hume
Jesus, Another rivalry we have been told to win. The board and carry on our cup run and excite the fans by doing on over on another Local rival who seem to be in a bit of free fall over the last couple of years. During the match I wasn't shaken by going one down because I know our reputation for bouncing back in games has become recognised & we did it in style.

A very late equilzer from Reval Morrison took the game into over time however it was super sub Hume to pop up and take us through to the next round!

Blackburn 1-3 Preston North End
W.Keane (5, 9, 75)
W.Keane

After beating them at home we journeyed to Blackburn 3 days after the cup game (least it wasn't very far), & it was new star man W.Keane who stole the headlines with a fabulous hatrick on his return from injury!. The game was practically over by the 10 min mark, Very pleased with how we are playing at the moment and will be wanting to carry this form on into next month.

August log.. Status: Tired. Location: Team Coach.

Dear Diary,

First month in back in the championship with PNE and it sure has been hard!. This first months fixtures were a massive challenge to the team we had in place and actually to the players we brought in as I was hoping they were good enough to at least keep us up.

Before the start of the season we were tipped to land in the relegation zone but hopefully my team have knocked a few doubters on the head with my favourite victory which was over Southampton they still had players from the Prem who I know should be playing up there so to do one over on them was a marvellous result (however both them & Palace seem to be still suffering from there relegations and are in the bottom 3).

We really have some star quality in W.Keane he is such a goal threat & proved his wage packed at the moment by firing in 6 goals in 5 appearances he will be key and keeping him fit and along side the likes of Burns will threaten any Championship team we play this season.

On the flip side there have been a few injury's to the likes of Gunning & Frimpong who I hope will be back soon. In addition to this the fans are not really that impressed with my signing of Grimaldo for some reason, Am sure they will warm to him as I can see a gem in him.

Next months fixtures are as follows:

Hammers nail down PNE star!.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/multimedia/archive/00385/117665107_beavon_385293c.jpg
Beavon exits Deepdale

West Ham have confirmed they have made a late summer signing, that of which is Preston North Ends Stuart Beavon.

Sky sports have been let to believe that Stuart Beavon has been at The Boleyn Ground late last night for a medical for the hammers.

In a statement from Preston boss Alexander he stated:
"The bid for Stew came in on the 29th just as we were training for our last game against Blackburn and so I pulled him a side & discussed it with him."

Rumours has circulated the future of the ex-Wycombe man due to the arrival of ex-Manchester united youth Will Keane. His arrival has knocked Beavon down the pecking order at Deepdale & at 30 years of age it seems he would rather have 1st team football.

"I thrilled to be moving down south to such a well known club, They are a team that I feel should be in the Prem & hopefully if I get the opportunity I want to help that happen" said Beavon.

Hammers Boss Malky Mackey was ecstatic on getting his hands on his summer target:

"It brilliant that we have managed to pray away Stuart from Preston, I know he was well liked over there but I believe thinks are changing over there with Alexander at the head and Bev wanted more playing time which we can provide."

"We watched some of his games last season and although not he he wasn't played in his first choice position he managed to grab plenty of assists which I hope he can bring to my team".

It is believed that West ham have offered Preston in the region of £650k to secure there man.

More to follow....
great story and going brilliantly in the championship + some top drawer transfers. amazed how much you got for beavon also is hojbjerg the lad for bayern munich?
@Hortensius: I know am surprised myself really at some of the results... I've kinda adapted this tactic over 3-4 years of FM but then also nip pick it a little depending who's available and who am playing. Yes that is the lad from Bayern.... what what ever reason they released him... some strange stuff happening in my save..

Rooney to Barca.
Chelsea got Negredo.
Arsenal bought Chris Smalling.
Bayern signed Lewandowski on a free(?)
Lukaku then signed for Dortmund...

haha... Plus westham keep trying to but my players...

One in, One out at Deepdale

Dressing room re-shuffle

During the last few hours of the transfer window Deepdale have seen one departure & one new arrival pass through its doors. The identity's of which players have just filters through.

It is believed that a late transfer bid for Chris Humphrey from none other than West Ham has caused PNE to dip back into the market to sign yet another young star of the future.

West Ham made a £750k which seemed to be to good to refuse for the Preston board, this then let Humphrey discuss personal terms and complete a medical. After all this had taken place Chris was unveiled along side manager Malky Mackay who commented:

"Chris is our 11th signing of the season and our final.... Hopefully he will be the final piece in the jigsaw, He has played with Beavon before so at least he has a one friendly face to welcome him in to the team."

On the other end of the deal Preston then went on the hunt for a replacement to losing one of there wingers, they seemed to decide upon Braga youth player Hugo Novais.

Novais is yet to play a game for Braga however it maybe that Preston boss Graham Alexander has seen something in the young lad as to bring him in on a free.

"Novais came to our attention via our new head of youth development Dave Parnaby, we where going to get someone else to go over to access the lad in a bit more detail ready for January or next season."

"however due to the opening up of space within our squad & the praise Parnaby put within his initial report we went for it."

Surly this will be the last dealings for both teams as the window slams shut tonight.

September Report - 2014

Preston North End 1-1 Millwall
Malone (41)

We went into this game on the back of a great first month back in the Championship, However we were welcoming Millwall a team well known for the ruff and ready side of the game. The game its self was a very stop, start game due to the constant breaks in play, not the best performance especially because it was at home although I will take the point and the unbeaten run continues.

Barnsley 0-6 Preston North End
Sarr (10)
Welsh (32)
Novais (50)
Lopez (53)
Højbjerg (76, 87)
Højbjerg

A fantastic result, what a statement to make getting back to our winning ways in style. After my bollacking I gave the guys after the Millwall result I could not of asked for a better come back!... Great to see Novais grab his first goal and assist for the club am sure he has a bright future ahead.

Preston North End 3-3 Doncaster
Novais (50)
Højbjerg (62)
Zaliukas (73)

Truly gutted at this result, I thought we had managed to steal all three points but in the last kick of the game Doncaster managed to pull a goal back, Lack defending from a corner & we dropped 2 points... I wouldn't mind but he came on as a sub as well!.

Reading 1-2 Preston North End
W.Keane (50)
Novais (81)
Wright

Cup game day... A god chance to get through to the next round as we were up against another Championship club who were not on the best run of form. We didn't get off to a good start as per usual but we came back fighting and managed to grab a late winner... Next round another away trip against Middlesbrough.

Preston North End 5-1 Middlesbrough
Højbjerg (6)
W.Keane (16, 67, 82)
Davies (59)

Another commanding victory, 20 mins in we were 2-0 up and so that relaxed us and let us play our game. W.Keane got another hatrick yet again confirming that the decision was right to sign him on. I'm glad we got back to winning at home as the last few fixtures in front of the home crowd have ended in disappointing draws.

Huddersfield 2-4 Preston North End
W.Keane (20, 31)
Højbjerg (87)
Davies (90+2)

A good win away from home, it was a pretty tight and even game until the half time when I changed the tactics a bit and give some encouragement to the youngsters. It took us late into the second half to secure the points but we eventually found a break through through Højbjerg. 3 points well earned!

September log.. Status: Rolling around with laughter. Location: Meeting room.

Dear Diary,

This month has gone majority as planned, we are coping well with the level of competition (In some cases Smashing it). I can say that gladly as we sit atop of the league for another month.

As spirits are high and team moral is up me and my fellow staff decided to organise a surprise for our local rivals the tangerine army. During there most recent home game against Rotherham we organised there introduction confetti to be changed from there bright orange to pure white whilst we returned the favour of sending a sky writing plane over the stadium with the word:

PNE

Safe to say this all caused quiet a ca-fuffle & the look on Blackpool boss Neil Warrnock said it all really!.....

Looking back at my squads recent performances I can't pick out a best performer you only have to look at the monthly awards to see how well we are playing at this moment in time. The only addition I would make note of is the 1st few performances from our newest Portuguese youngster Novais who in 4 games has 3 goals & 3 assists to his name... the tricky winger has hit the ground running with help langue wise from Mousinho.

Lets just say all is going well at this moment in time and lets hope me and my team can keep the club on the up!

@Radders2109 Thank you!.. I'm really surprised how much I enjoy doing this story!... & we have had a bright start to the season lets hope I can keep them up there! :P

Hammers Sack Mackay

Mackay's final game in charge of the hammers

After less than a year in charge of the Hammers, Malky Mackay has been given his marching orders after his sides 2-0 defeat to high flying Brighton.

West Ham United have had a bit of a rocky patch since there relegation from from the premier league last season. Since their fall from the promise land finishing 19th, 5 points off safety.

Since then they sacked past manager Sam Allardyce and have had a total overhaul of their squad selling players like: Mark Noble, Matt Jarvis, Stewart Downing & £15m Signing Andy Carroll. Although all of this was happening at The Boleyn Groundthe fans were positive in thinking that there team would bounce back and push for the the title with there new manager Malky Mackay.

However the start of the season has not been the start most West Ham United fans wanted,
with mixed results and signing that didn't really spark the imagination. Mackay soon lost friends at the club and patience was soon wavering for the ex-Cardiff boss.

The latest defeat must of been the final straw which has seen co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan sack the manager even though West Ham only sat 7th, 6 points from automatic promotion.

A official statement from the club was released earlier today:

"We know Malky has not lost his ambition or desire and would want to committed to making West Ham United a great Premier League club once again, However we can't turn away from our current status & feel it is best we part ways."

West Ham are now in the process of looking for a new manager with PNE's Graham Alexander being touted as top of there list.

Media Pressure

After my hard work in the past weeks I felt I had not given Karen a lot of attention so I decided to take her on a shopping trip (Every mans nightmare).

Due to the fact that PNE were doing so well we had just moved to our new home in Fulwood

http://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/assets/_files/cached/img/402x267/mar_10/pnw__1268410835_Deeside_Starbucks.jpg

with this in mind we set off the the local retail park in Deepdale, stopping off at the drive-through Starbucks for a coffee and parked up on the packed car park.

Ok.. we are here love!, so what where would you like to go first? I joyfully ask whilst popping our Land Rover into neutral.

Well I saw some lovely boots in River Island could we nip in there?. she said back, batting her eye lashes as the words left her mouth.

My response was to roll my eyes. This is going to be a long afternoon.

We look around a couple of the stores collecting more and more bags as we go, the smile on Karen's face widening with every store we go. By this time fellow shoppers had started to recognize my face and some fans started asking for photos and autographs.

My god my feet hurt, she could always shop.... Now I remember by I stopped doing this. I think to myself, swaying trying to take my mind off my throbbing feet.

Babe, Are you nearly finished?. we could do to get out of here before we get mobbed. How about some lunch?. I whisper in her hear as 4 more fans come up and introduce themselves.

whilst sticking her bottom lip out she nods her head and follows me out of the door by passing more shoppers who's turn and mutter between themselves.

Phew, people had started to recognize me and we would of never got out of there!. how about a nando's? I happily say whilst playing a kiss on Karen's cheek.

Yes that would be lovely Graham, Can you drop these of in the car and I'll get a table!. she again say's cheekily as she pass's me all of here shopping bags!.

I stagger back to the car and just manage to lift the boot before dropping all of the bags into the large spacious boot. After that I turn and start walking towards the restaurant....

Graham... Graham... Can we have a few words? I pretend I didn't hear and carry on my brisk walk.

Graham... What is your response to local knowledge that you have been offered the West Ham United job? It was only then I realize that it is a news crew. I again pretend I didn't hear and carry on.

Some reports have linked you liaising with West Ham officials on contract terms, Do you have any comment? I lower my head and manage to splutter: No comment, I don't think this is the time lads. Can you just leave me be for today?

I see the restaurant as I cross the road and past the other food outlets.

Many PNE fans have been outraged by these rumors and have called for you to be sacked for your disrespectful actions against the club? do you have anything to say Graham? The reporter again probes for an answer, Pushing the mic into my face.

GET THAT THING OUT OF MY FACE! I bark at the sleazy reporter and camera man!

BUT the fans have a right to hear the truth!, Can you not even deny these rumors He blurts out, whilst I was being blinded by the camera mans light.

THE TRUTH! YOU WANT THE TRUTH!... WELL I HAVE HAD NO CONTACT WITH WEST HAM! NONE AT ALL! YES THEY OFFERED ME AN INTERVIEW WHICH I DECLINED WHOLE HEARTILY! I snarled a the now taken back reporter!.

I do not want to be West Ham FC manager!, I'm manager of Preston North End & feel I'm white through and through.. I have brought this club back to the Championship and aim to take this club to new heights. I have gathered a great set of players, I have my choice of backroom staff & have the boards full backing........ I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE! COYW! I bellow out the last few words which makes reported step back.

& now if you don't mind my wife is waiting for me! I storm off and enter the restaurant, greeted by my wife who had manged to get us a nice table for two...

Hi dear, were did you get too!.. I've been waiting for ages, I ordered you a beer!

Babe! you read my mind! I say sighing to myself!
