Pretty good month there James, didn't start so great but you picked yourself up! Eight point gap as well, I am sure you can hold on lad!

It was indeed a good month after a rocky start! The gap is good but has the potential to be extended further I feel! Only time will tell...
What a season you're having, lad! Great job, hope you'll keep it up and bring Notts back to glory.
Well, if you believe you can make the gap bigger, go ahead lad;) The league is there to be won, and it's yours to lose;)
Adrian18Ro:It is going extremely well and long may it continue. Whether I stay with the club for the long term, I am not too sure!

AaronHJFT96: I do think we have the ability to make the gap bigger which will make me feel less nervous about the last handful of games coming up; especially still being in the FA Cup, it is another competition we need to be fit for.

February: Bossaerts - A Future Captain?

Before starting this month, I set myself and the team a challenge, which was to increase the eight point gap we had achieved last month. It didn’t matter to me by how much we increased the gap as long as it got a bit bigger in order to put more distance between us and the rest of the league. Once we had increased the gap I would start to feel less nervous about our title challenge and instead a sense of confidence and relief would take over as the league slowly but surely became ours; I do now believe we have at least one hand on the trophy. I am pleased to announce that we were successful in completing this challenge and that there is now a gap of eleven points between us and second place Wolves who are entangled in a battle for the second automatic promotion spot with at least three other clubs.

What is even more pleasing is the fact we have managed to increase the gap having played two extra games compared to the other teams around us as we continue to play in the historic FA Cup. Admittedly we made it difficult for ourselves in the first cup tie against Nottingham Forest, even more so as I played an under strength side in the hope that we may actually make a dignified exit from the competition. This however would not have gone down well with the fans as Forest are one of our closest and most fierce rivals. When it came to the second leg, and we had been assured of a potential sixth round tie against Everton, I was more determined to win. We will head into the game against Everton with confidence but if we did not make it any further, we could look back on our journey fondly. Also, with the league season drawing to an end, not having the extra commitment would benefit the players greatly as a number of them are starting to flounder and suffer from fatigue.

One player who is not suffering and is simply going from strength to strength is Bossaerts. He is an extremely talented young centre back who is loving life at Notts County, well, that’s what he has told the papers! I am hoping that if we manage to achieve promotion, which is looking more likely now with the eleven point gap, whether it is by the automatic places or play-offs, that Bossaerts will see sense and sign for us on a permanent deal. I cannot see him getting into the first team of his parent club, Manchester City, who are pushing for another league title so instead should stick with us where he could eventually become a future captain and club legend. His name is the first on the team sheet and he repays the faith that is shown in him. It is his commanding of the back line that resulted in us only conceding four goals in six games this month. I can only see him going from strength to strength and as long as he stays fit, we will continue to keep opponents out and with our strikers all being on good form, our goal difference will carry on improving

Young of the Month – Mathias Bossaerts

Bossaerts is absolutely superb for me for Man City, I'd sign him, definitely
The league is won for you. You are in the prem without a doubt! Especially after a month like that, nice result in the FA cup as well, you can go far in that one!
brilliantly done mate!
You're flying! As this is the Unemployment challenge what will happen if you get a job offer from a midtable+ Prem club?

I'm also using this to track Blackpool, we are clinging by a thread!
Jack:He is a cracking player that has a big future ahead of him, which will hopefully be at Notts County.

AaronHJFT96:Lets not jump the gun and make presumptions that we are going to win the league, although...it is looking very likely! :)

kdavva: Thank you very much.

Walter:I have always wanted a story with a twist such as a change of club. I tend to stick with one club and see how well I can do with them; this is something I fancy doing with Notts County. However, if a big club comes in, and the club is in a good position and the deal seems right for me...how can I turn it down?

March: Title Chances Diminish

I cannot believe how poorly this month went for us. It could end up having a long last effect on the morale of the players and our potential title chances. I also cannot believe that despite messing up big time this month, we still have a good point advantage over the teams that are around us, which means that our title chances aren’t quite diminished. When reflecting back on this month, there is only one possible explanation for this change in fortunes and our diabolical performances and that is fatigue.

As a club we don’t boast the finest physios and fitness coaches and we have to keep training at a high level to avoid players slacking off and starting to become unfamiliar with our formations. This has meant that a number of players, including key ones like Bossaerts, have played every single minute of this month and not been given any time to rest between matches. It became a regular occurrence to head into a match with 7 out of 11 players being at 80-90% match ready. Despite being advised by my poor backroom staff that key players needed resting, I simply couldn’t allow this to happen or else we would have suffered even bigger defeats.

Even though it was a month of poor performances, when you take time to look at the clubs we faced, nobody could be criticised for thinking that we came off lightly. We have only just been promoted from League One and we are coming up against former Premier League clubs all the time and this month was full of them. We came up against former Premier League champions in Blackburn Rovers and European Cup Winners, Nottingham Forest. At the beginning of the season, pundits wouldn’t have given us a chance against these sides so we were fortunate to came away not too unscathed. It shows just how important our early form has turned out to be to have us still have an eight point gap on second placed Wolverhampton Wanderers. I really do hope that we can turn it around as the season is quickly coming to an end and it is our title to lose for sure.

Player of the Month – N/A

Oh dear lord James! What a poor month, will it cost you the title? Let's get back on track eh?;)
Could you show your tactics and stuff like that please? :) That'd be a nice update :P
AaronHJFT96:It was an appalling month that I just couldn't wait to finish. I really hope it won't cost us the title but it isn't looking promising.

SamGirling:I am sure that I could include them in a future post, maybe like an end of season review or at the beginning of the new season.
