Michael Frontzeck Sacked

In a shocking move just before the 2013 football season was set to kick off in Germany, Michael Frontzeck has been sacked as the manager of St. Pauli. The rumors are that he had an unresolvable dispute with the St. Pauli board and that they have chosen to go in an unprecedented new direction in football, with an announcement soon to come.

Shocker! St. Pauli Hires Female Manager

In an unprecedented move, St. Pauli have announced today that former women's football player Sabrina Schwartz has been hired as the manager of St. Pauli football club. The men's football club. The one that plays in the 2.Bundesliga. Schwartz* is 35 years old, from Hamburg, Germany, and has a vast wealth of footballing experience herself. She played center back and defensive midfielder for St. Pauli's women's football team her whole career, which lasted from 1993 to 2005. She also has plenty of international experience, as a member of Germany's Women's World Cup-winning team in 2003.

*(If you're wondering why you've never heard of Schwartz, she is of course, completely fictional. I don't like using real people in my stories as a matter of preference.)

An unnamed St. Pauli board member was quoted as saying, "Don't be fooled. Sabrina has the capability of being a successful manager of a men's football team. She has helped out as an assistant with us and a couple of other teams before, and she has a brilliant football mind. Of course we wouldn't have hired her just to look progressive, we want to win football games too."

Schwartz faced the media for the first time today for her first press conference as the manager of St. Pauli. Unfortunately, that media consisted of a single solitary journalist, in spite of the momentous occasion. She still had plenty to say: "I was a fierce and combative player on the pitch, and I won't apologize for that. In fact, I vow to be as fierce and combative as a manager. Our club is youthful, our club is punk, and I want to translate that onto the field. I want every other team in Germany, and in Europe, to fear us. It will take some time, and a lot of work, but I am confident in my abilities to make St. Pauli a club befitting of its supporters."
Great start mate! This story will differ from the other ones, which will make it unique and special! Post a random hot chick, and we good buddy :P!

Squad and Tactics

(A selection of the most talented players from the first team.)
I stepped into the St. Pauli locker room for the first time as the manager. It was intimidating to see all these men and expecting them to go at my command, but I was prepared for this. "Hello, gentlemen. I'd like to introduce myself as the new manager of St. Pauli, and I'd like to be the only one you guys have for the rest of your careers. I personally want to get us promoted, and I know you do, too. We are more than capable of getting a top half finish, and I know you agree with me. Fabian Boll, the team's captain and defensive midfielder, stepped up. "I agree. I don't see why we can't get a top half finish, and as well we should shoot for promotion."

After introducing myself to the squad, the next step was introducing them to their tactics. I took a black marker and started drawing on the whiteboard the formation and roles. "Here's the plan. Our wide players will funnel the ball to our target man, who can score himself or give the ball to the shadow striker. Our midfielders will win the ball and pass to our more creative outlets. Any questions?" The team remained silent.
Good luck eb, I think this is a clever plot for a story :)

Jeremy is just here for the steamy pics. Too bad he won't get any. Good luck eb.

Good luck eb :D

This is a really nice start and an interesting concept too, good luck!

Nice start but what happened to the DC United save?

St. Pauli
2013 Preseason

Matches

June 29, 2013
Trier 1 - 4 St. Pauli
It was a comedy of errors for Trier, as their goalkeeper scored 2 own goals in the first 20 minutes, and St. Pauli dominated the match.
Player of the Match: Fin Bartels (St. Pauli)

July 7, 2013
St. Pauli 3 - 1 Viktoria Pizen
Loanee Michael Gregoritsch was the star of the show, equalizing after Viktoria Pizen's early score, and intercepting a throw in deep in Viktoria Pizen territory for most of the match. Viktoria Pizen played a man down most of the match due to a vicious foul in the first half.
Player of the Match: Michael Gregoritsch (St. Pauli)

July 10, 2013
Sprimont 1 - 8 St. Pauli
Yeah, Sprimont landed the first punch, but if this was a MMA match it would have ended early due to TKO. This was simply a fitness run due to the low skill of the opposition and a confidence booster, and the team should lift its spirits up with 8 goals.
Player of the Match: John Verhoek (St. Pauli)

July 13, 2013
Saarbrucken 1 - 2 St. Pauli
Sabrina really needs to fire the assistant manager if this is how he's going to schedule the friendlies. It was a closer game than it appeared to be after St. Pauli took a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes.
Player of the Match: Soeren Gonther (St. Pauli)

July 15, 2013
Fortuna Sittard 0 - 0 St. Pauli
The lone blemish on St. Pauli's preseason record, both teams defended well and kept the other team from capitalizing on scoring chances.
Player of the Match: Robin Himmelmann (St. Pauli)

Manager's Comments
"I thought there were plenty of good things on display this season, the team scored plenty of goals, displayed the ability to fight back after going down early, and I think we have enough talent to make some waves."

Transfers

Since we already have a large club, only a couple of transfers were necessary.

In
On loan from Wolfsburg until the end of the season, he will help out at center back.

Picked up on a free transfer, this former Championship player will be a good defensive presence for us in the center midfield.

The club still feels they're short of a center attacking mid and are still on the lookout for one.

Replies

Bayern: It was only intended to be a teaser, the game has changed a lot since the initial beta build and I wanted to do something else.

Everyone else: This is abolutely NOT a Seni story. I'd like to think we're all more mature than that. Arvind is right, there won't be any steamy pics. :D

St. Pauli
2. Bundesliga - July 2013

Matches

July 19, 2013
St. Pauli 1 - 2 1860 Munchen
The opening day can easily set the tone of a season, so it was disappointing to see St. Pauli lose this one on a lucky Daniel Adlung strike from outside the box. It wouldn't have mattered, but St. Pauli couldn't hold on to the ball as much as they would have liked and struggled to mount attacks.
Player of the Match: Daniel Adlung (1860 Munchen)

July 28, 2013
Sandhausen 0 - 2 St. Pauli
After a somewhat even first half, Sandhausen was undone by their goalkeeper in the second half as he let in two quick goals from range in the second half, the second on a free kick. Sandhausen couldn't retaliate and St. Pauli got an important road victory.
Player of the Match: Bjarne Thoelke (St. Pauli)
Injury Update: Unfortunately, Sebastian Maier twisted his ankle late in the match and will be out 5-6 weeks.

Transfers

Since we already have a large club, only a couple of transfers were necessary.

In
Daniel Goehlert has been added to provide some experience in the back four.

St. Pauli has bought Victor Andres from Numancia for 350,000 euros. He looks like he will be a pretty good player as a center AM for us.

2.Bundesliga Table

St. Pauli Hamburg wear brown, so I will follow :P

Also, here's the profile picture I added for her into the game thanks to pickaface:
Yes, she goes to the Jurgen Klinsmann school of "Fuck it, I'll wear a t-shirt on the touchline and you can't do anything about it". I also know St. Pauli wear brown, but her hair conflicted with the background.

St. Pauli
2. Bundesliga - August 2013

Matches

August 3, 2013 - DFB-Pokal First Round
Aumund-Vegesack 0 - 4 St. Pauli
St. Pauli got off to a quick flyer with two goals in the first 10 minutes, and were only slowed due to Florent Rouamba's red card for an egregious tackle. Still, each winger picked up two goals.
Player of the Match: Fin Bartels (St. Pauli)

August 10, 2013
St. Pauli 3 - 0 Furth
St. Pauli win their second game in a row in the 2.Bundesliga as Christopher Buchtmann put on an excellent performance, scoring a brace. The St. Pauli front kept assaulting the Furth goal and they had no defense.
Player of the Match: Christopher Buchtmann (St. Pauli)

August 18, 2013
Aue 3 - 2 St. Pauli
Fin Bartels didn't play due to an injury, and the attack seemed to struggle without him. Aue went ahead due to some surprising goals, and St. Pauli struggled to equalize. Michael Fink scored the late gamewinner to disappoint St. Pauli's fans.
Player of the Match: Michael Fink (Aue)

August 25, 2013
St. Pauli 3 - 3 Dusseldorf
There were some good and bad. St. Pauli looked to have the advantage after one of Dusseldorf's players picked up two yellows in 19 minutes, but Dusseldorf still powered to a 3-0 halftime lead. Still, St. Pauli perservered, and Fin Bartels's stoppage time goal was the one that tied the game up and ensured that the points would be shared.
Player of the Match: Stefan Reisinger (Dusseldorf)

August 30, 2013
Bochum 1 - 0 St. Pauli
St. Pauli spent almost all game chasing an early goal, and despite their best efforts, were unable to score.
Player of the Match: Andreas Luthe (Bochum)

2.Bundesliga Table

That was some comeback against Dusseldorf, but overall things aren't going too great. Still, I'm sure you'll improve sooner or later :P
