Matches

(Marc Rzatkowski suffered a hernia on 2.2.2014 that will keep him out for 6-7 weeks.)

February 10th, 2014
Furth 2 - 3 St. Pauli
St. Pauli almost blew another large lead, but thankfully held on to win a crucial 3 points. Despite Victor Andres's early injury, Sebastian Maier stepped up with as the super sub, coming away with 2 goals, and was a missed penalty away from a hat trick. Loanee Elio De Silvestro picked up an assist in his first game. Furth made St. Pauli nervy with a corner kick goal and a penalty goal, but couldn't find the equalizer.
Player of the Match: Ilir Azemi (Furth)
Injury Update: Victor Andres suffered a twisted knee and will miss 3-4 weeks.

February 16th, 2014
St. Pauli 2 - 0 Aue
St. Pauli got vengeance for their earlier loss against Aue, soundly defeating them and playing great defensive football.
Player of the Match: Bjarne Thoelke (St. Pauli)

February 24th, 2014
Dusseldorf 0 - 3 St. Pauli
St. Pauli and Dusseldorf were even at halftime, but St. Pauli just blew past them in the second half. Sebastian Maier was very dangerous, scoring two goals in the six yard box from crosses, and Elio De Silvestro scored his first St. Pauli with a great play, taking a header and beating the offside trap for an easy goal.
Player of the Match: Sebastian Maier (St. Pauli)

2.Bundesliga Table

Got some decent results, winning all of the matches :). Very close on the play-offs and automatic promotion places :D

A fantastic result versus a team like Dusseldorf. Also, doing well in the table and could be in with a chance for promotion. Union Berlin are running away with it though atm.

2. Bundesliga - March 2014

Matches

March 2, 2014
St. Pauli 0 - 1 Bochum
This would be a match we could not afford to lose, but we did. Down a goal at the half, we kept chasing it. Elio De Silvestro narrowly missed two great chances to score, and Thy had a goal disallowed on the 90th minute due to offside.
Player of the Match: Florian Jungwirth (Bochum)

March 7, 2014
Karlsruhe 0 - 2 St. Pauli
Despite St. Pauli's continued struggles to score, they held a slim lead thanks to a free kick goal, and held their lead all game, doubling it in stoppage time with Fin Bartels's strike.
Player of the Match: Bjarne Thoelke (St. Pauli)

March 15, 2014
St. Pauli 1 - 0 Aalen
Despite Aalen's status as a minnow in the 2.Bundesliga this season, it was a tough match thanks to Bernd Nehrig's red card. Thankfully, Michael Gregoritsch knocked a lovely ball in to get the lead, then St. Pauli were diligent in protecting it.
Player of the Match: Fabian Boll (St. Pauli)

March 21, 2014
Ingolstadt 2 - 2 St. Pauli
After falling behind 2-0, St. Pauli were lucky to get the point for a draw, but not winning is still going to hurt their promotion bid. Sebastian Maier was the player who rescued us, scoring a goal to make it 2-1, then getting in position to get professional fouled by Andre Mijatovic, who earned a red card. To add insult to injury, Marcel Halstenberg scored off the direct free kick anyway.
Player of the Match: Marcel Halstenberg (St. Pauli)

March 26, 2014
St. Pauli 3 - 1 Kaiserslautern
St. Pauli recovered by taking care of Kaiserslautern here, with Thy scoring a brace, and an example of his goalscoring above. Fabian Boll added to the tally with a direct free kick goal. Soren Gonther conceded a penalty, but it was too late for Kaiserslautern to come back.
Player of the Match: Lennart Thy (St. Pauli)

March 28, 2014
Dynamo Dresden 4 - 2 St. Pauli
Dynamo Dresden's comeback powered them back into the promotion race. St. Pauli got up 2-0, but the lead evaporated by halftime thanks to a goal and a penalty goal. In the second half, left wing back Marcel Halstenberg got sent off for a late challenge and Dresden scored two more goals to win the match and make the promotion race a lot more interesting.
Player of the Match: Robert Koch (Dynamo Dresden)
Injury Update: To add injury to insult, Soren Gonther strained his groin and will miss 3-4 weeks.

2.Bundesliga Table

Schwartz Commits to St. Pauli

St. Pauli is doing very well in the 2.Bundesliga so far this season, as they're in third place and have a realistic shot at a promotion. The fans are savoring it, and a big reason why St. Pauli are in the race is first-year manager Sabrina Schwartz. With the St. Pauli board delighted with her performance so far, they've offered her a new contract so that other clubs won't be inclined to poach her away. To this end, St. Pauli reportedly offered a 2 year contract extension that doubles her salary: from 5,500 Euros per week to 11,000 a week. Schwartz posted a picture of the signed contract on her Twitter account.

Sabrina Schwartz @SabrineSchwartz I'm so glad that St. Pauli wants me to stick around as their manager. The support I'm getting from everyone is amazing!

St. Pauli supporters can be glad that a potential distraction has been taken care of as the team continues to race towards a promotion to the Bundesliga. If they are forced to a playoff, St. Pauli could have to play the likes of Gladbach, Hannover, or Mainz, who are struggling in the Bundesliga this season.
Good to see you've got yourself a new contract. You're not far off the top either, so hopefully you can get a promotion spot :)

You're creeping up that table slowly each month, hopefully you can get in the automatic promotion spots! And well done on signing the new contract :D

2. Bundesliga - April 2014

Matches

April 5, 2014
St. Pauli 1 - 0 FSV Frankfurt
With an early goal by Sebastian Maier, new St. Pauli manager Sabrina Schwartz was able to best the old St. Pauli manager Michael Frontzeck, now with FSV Frankfurt, and prove why she was qualified for the job. Despite some defensive shuffling, the back was kept tight and Tschauner recorded another clean sheet.
Player of the Match: Bjarne Thoelke (St. Pauli)

April 13, 2014
Union Berlin 1 - 2 St. Pauli
St. Pauli held their resolve after Union Berlin scored an easy goal to equalize in the second half. They could have folded, but instead, Bjarne Thoelke headed in a corner, and St. Pauli wins a massive promotion six-pointer.
Player of the Match: Bjarne Thoelke (St. Pauli)

April 17, 2014
St. Pauli 4 - 0 Cottbus
A great performance by St. Pauli against a deflated Cottbus team. It was a very St. Pauli win, as four different goalscorers had glory today.
Player of the Match: Michael Gregoritsch (St. Pauli)

April 27, 2014
St. Pauli 3 - 1 Koln
Once again, St. Pauli continues their winning streak! Michael Gregoritsch continued his hot run of form, and the wingers contributed to a goal each as well. Unfortunately, we were without our wingbacks, one due to injury, one due to a red card, but despite being down to 10 men, St. Pauli held on!
Player of the Match: Fin Bartels (St. Pauli)
Injury Update: Left wingback Marcel Halstenberg tore his hamstring and will be out 3-4 months.

2.Bundesliga Table

With an undefeated month, St. Pauli have climbed all the way to first in the 2.Bundesliga. With the top 3 teams locked into at least a playoff spot, no team can upset the applecart and take one of the spots, but there is still plenty of battling left to see who has to play the promotion playoff, which will likely be against Mainz or Nurnberg.

Transfers

In
St. Pauli are delighted to announce that they've signed winger Naim Sliti from Paris FC to a pre-contract.

Aboubacar Sylla has agreed to a pre-contract with St. Pauli. His current team is Novelda in Spain, and he is a holding midfielder.

Left winger Evan Chevalier will be joining us at the end of this season. He will help out with De Silvestro returning to Reggiana and Juventus at the end of the season.

Koray Kacinoglu will join us from Koln at the end of the season. He will build up depth at wing back.

St. Pauli have agreed to a pre-contract with Guillaume Loriot, who should be a replacement for Florian Boll after his contract expires.
What an inspired run of form! To get to first when Union were nine points ahead is pretty remarkable, hopefully you can finish off the season like this :D

St. Pauli On Top!

With two matches to go in the 2.Bundesliga season, St. Pauli have always been around the top spots, but surprisingly have climbed to the top after defeating former league leaders Koln 3-1. Their last two matches against mid-table sides Paderborn and Bielefeld. They're not as contentious as matches against Union Berlin and Koln, but St. Pauli can't be complacent - after all, they turned a 3-0 lead against Paderborn into a 4-5 loss.

St. Pauli won every match in April, and as always, manager Sabrina Schwartz has gotten her team motivated and ready to play, and Michael Gregoritsch, on loan from Hoffenheim, has entered a sublime run of form, with 3 goals and 2 assists. St. Pauli's other loanees, Bjarne Thoelke, and Elio De Silvestro, have also had consistent good form. They need to keep it up if St. Pauli are to win the 2.Bundesliga, but they're more than capable of doing so.
Great to hear that you beat Koln, which is a good team, and to add that you are first! The Bundesliga awaits!

2. Bundesliga - May 2014

Matches

May 4, 2014
Paderborn 0 - 2 St. Pauli
Once again, St. Pauli wins again, although for most of the match it was a nail-biter. Elio De Silvestro scored from a tight angle late in the first half. St. Pauli were nervous, as they smelled the promotion, but were calmed down for the second half, held serve, and doubled their lead when Paderborn's keeper scored an own goal. After that, it was elementary.
Player of the Match: Elio De Silvestro (St. Pauli)

St. Pauli Win Promotion!

The St. Pauli quarter of Hamburg was boisterous in its celebration as due to the nature of St. Pauli's 2-0 win over Paderborn and Koln's 3-3 draw with Cottbus, St. Pauli has achieved an automatic promotion to the Bundesliga! A fans' spokesperson stated, "Sabrina is one of the best managers around and we hope to have her around for many years to come!" Walking around the streets, the fans came out in full force and they sang songs celebrating the team and their manager.

The St. Pauli board was equally delighted with the promotion, saying they didn't think that Schwartz could achieve promotion this season and to do so was an amazing feat. Former player Holger Stanislawski, who spent many years as a St. Pauli player, also expressed his surprise and delight at St. Pauli's promotion, and urged the board to keep Schwartz around for many years possible.

Of course, the 2.Bundesliga season is not over. St. Pauli have to get a point in the final match of the season, when Bielefeld visits, to proactively secure the 2.Bundesliga title. St. Pauli supporters are confident that this, too, can be achieved. Of course, St. Pauli can still win the league if Union Berlin fail to win their final match, but hopefully it doesn't have to come to that.

May 11, 2014
St. Pauli 0 - 1 Bielefeld
Once again, St. Pauli struggled with Bielefeld's packed defense, and Tim Jerat scored the only goal Bielefeld needed by knocking in a cross.
Player of the Match: Tim Jerat (Bielefeld)

The other result:
Union Berlin 1 - 1 1860 Munchen
