November-December

‘This Period, was a VERY good one. In fact, it was the best Period ever. Period. You don’t find me funny? Oh. Anyways. Moving on. We had 7 games in the league, along with the semi-final of the CCC. Also, if we win, we go to the Final and I have time to update you guys about the 1st Leg. Finally, you will see me jump between TWO international jobs…’

Premier League

‘Seven wins in seven. I have to say I am really impressed with the squad this season especially with Jacob Modise. He is very mature at a tender age but he is our top scorer, and he is doing better than Yano. We also earn 106k, but our finances are still in the red. We just keep losing money. Although, if we keep on winning trophies and periods, money will come in.’

African Confederation Cup

‘We have reached the African Confederation Cup Final! We have done it! Now let me tell you who we will face in the Final…’

‘Basically, it was Jomo Cosmos vs Club Africain and Kaizer Chiefs vs USM Alger. I was hoping, that USM Alger would win because I did not want to face the Chiefs again.’

‘Kaizer Chiefs won 4-1 in the first leg. Away from home. I thought, “shit, we’re gonna play them”. Until the second leg came up, and USM Alger won 5-2!’

“Oh no… Kaizer Chiefs scored 2 away goals… they go to the Finals… if only they didn’t score an injury-time goal…”

‘Then, I got a text message. “Congrats Hamoudi! Hope you take our Cosmos to defeat the Algerians in the Final!”

‘The Algerians? No way. I messed it up. USM Alger were playing away from home when they won 5-2… So we were facing USM Alger in the Final. This is a dream come true!’

‘We drew 2-2, getting two away goals in the process which is very good for us. Could we win in the second leg, and become the second-best in Africa!?!’

The International Scene

‘Let’s say this part didn’t go too well. I applied for a job in Europe, some of the very lowly countries in Europe. Who came up?’

‘Yes, Moldova. Now, I know we would have no chance of winning the Euros, but, it was a chance for me to expand my knowledge. Have more jobs on my CV, and even cause some upsets! Although, two months and 0 international fixtures later...’

‘Yes, I went to North America. Now, El Salvador were eliminated from the World Cup Qualifiers before I came, and the Gold Cup is in 2 years. They have a better team than Moldova, and I have a better chance of winning the Gold Cup, after hopefully strengthening my squad over the two years. Our fixtures are yet to come, but I am hoping we can hit the ground running.’
Good luck at El Salvador!

January-February

‘In this Period, we have the CCC Final, and the Champions League Prelim Round. We also have 8 league games, and we have a Super Cup game coming up. Will this be a continue of the great form that we had last time?’

South African Premier League

‘We drew against SuperSport Utd which I feel we should have won, we just weren’t clinical. We also lost our 1st home game in the Premier League for 2 seasons, and against who… Kaizer Chiefs of course. 2 wins against lower mid-table teams were good, and the Orlando game was AMAZING! We were 3-0 up by 40 minutes, and they scored just before the break. They came back to 3-3, and two minutes later we immediately scored to make it 4-3! There were 15 minutes left, and they equalised with 3 seconds to go… Although, we did win our next 3 games which were 9 points well earned. Now, the league table.’

‘First place! We are 9 points ahead with 7 games to go… I pray to god we don’t mess this up.’

African Confederation Cup

‘I think, I’ll be keeping this...’

‘Absolutely fantastic! We win the Confederation Cup! We enter the Super Cup, and we now have the Champions League to look forward to!’

‘We face Zamalek… at their stadium. Apparently we are heavy favourites. Oh, and you only get 100k for winning. Bollocks to be honest!’

Transfers

‘We brought in this fantastic youngster. He’s very good for this level, and he’s only 19! He’s foreign, but he’s under-21 which means he doesn’t have to be registered. Great!’

African Champions League

‘We get our first win ever in the Champions League, and Sibusiso Mulaudzi was absolutely fantastic this game! 4 away goals is more than enough, so a weakened squad should play in the next match.’

PAPE DIAKHATE AIDS JOMO COSMOS TO SUPER CUP WIN

‘On a windy afternoon at Cairo International Stadium, Jomo Cosmos’ Jacob Modise lived the dream of many a supporter as he lifted the African Super Cup victory over Zamalek.’

‘Experienced centre-back Pape Diakhate suffered the ignominy of scoring a calamitous own goal in the 7th minute. Pape Diakhate ensured things went from bad to worse for Zamalek Sporting Club on 30 minutes with another embarrassing own-goal’

‘Salihi scored on his debut with a shot from distance in the 35th minute to extend the lead further. Striker Jude Aneke pulled one back for Zamalek after 43 minutes with a close range header.’

‘Midfielder Shikabala then summed up his team’ performance by nearly gifting Jomo Cosmos’ another goal on 50 minutes. Aneke put Zamalek Sporting Club back within a shout on 89 minutes with a well struck effort but it was too little, too late.’

Shots: 17-8
Possession: 56%-44%
PoTM: Jude Aneke
Attendance: 71328

‘Hamoudi Fayad enters into the African Manager Hall of Fame, after winning the Super Cup. This is his 4th competition win in Africa, which is a very good achievement for a foreign manager, who has only been in Africa for 3 years… now the question is, can he continue it this year with the league?’
Great updates :)
You are doing very well so far!

JOMO COSMOS DO THE DOUBLE

‘Jomo Cosmos have clinched the South African Premier League Title with 3 games to go, after completing a scrappy 1-0 away win against Ajax CT with a weakened squad. Neblu, Davis Nkausu, Ary, Yano and Gladwin Shitolo were all injured for the match, but Jomo Cosmos came out on top with a second-half goal from star man Jacob Modise.’

‘In fact, Jomo Cosmos did not clinch the title after this win, as they needed to depend on the Sundowns to win in the Sundowns vs Pirates game, to see out the last 3 games without needing to win anymore. The Sundowns defeated the Pirates 3-1 to cement 5th place and come closer to 4th, while the Pirates moved down to 3rd on goal difference and lose their Champions League spot - for now.’

‘The Cosmos game was very boring for the viewers, and the breakthrough came in the 68th minute through Jacob Modise who received a great header from Sidney Urikhob just outside of the box and to round the keeper and scored his 20th odd goal of the season.’

‘This is Jomo Cosmos’ second trophy of the season, along with the African Super Cup. Hamoudi Fayad seems to be a man of his word, as he claimed that he would take Jomo Cosmos to the top of Africa. Now, could they win the Champions League, or is it still far from their reach?’
Congrats on the double!!

Last Period/End of Season Review

‘Well, I decided to mix our last period with the End of Season Review, as I didn’t have much left to do updates. We had a mixed end of season, marred by injuries, but it didn’t matter as we won the league!’

South African Premier League

‘We won 6 out of our last 7 games, and we picked up some very good wins! Except for the Maritzburg game, but we’d already won the league by then!’

‘We won 87k in the process.’

‘We won the league by 11 points, thus winning 565k in the process! Now, IF we win the Champions League which ends in November, and play in the Club World Cup in December, then we will be out of Africa in 7 months! IF WE WIN!’

African Champions League

‘We progressed to the First Round with a 5-2 aggregate win over Hafia.’

‘We defeated Coton Sport 9-2 on aggregate, a very good achievement, and we are on form!’

‘Finally, we coasted past Enugu Rangers with a 7-1 aggregate win, to reach the Group Stage which would start in July. Who would we get?’

‘Well, i’m not sure if this is a tough group or not. We are used to the Sundowns, and we should be able to get results against the other two teams. I think qualifying for the semis could happen.’

Domestic Cups

‘Overall, we disappointed in the cups. We lost in the First Round of each Cup, but harshly. Late goals in the Ajax CT and Pirates games denied us from progressing, and the FS Stars game was lucky for them as they scored two free-kicks.’

Youth Intake

‘It actually isn’t a good youth intake to be honest, because it doesn’t cover the positions we need, like full-back and striker.’

‘Our only good player, who will replace Felix as the back-up for Ary.’

Awards

‘Jacob Modise caps off his fantastic season as the best young player, and scoring the 2nd best goal of the season.’

Best Players

‘So, a fantastic season domestically and continentally. Can we keep it up for next season?!’
Nice one doing the double bro, keep it up!
