Darron Gibson tries to go after Juan Mata, but that Spanish man still manages to get out, leaving Gibson to pick up a yellow card.

Again,
Darron Gibson gets caught up in a footrace that he won't win, and Eden Hazard just gets away from him. Gibson receives his second yellow, and Everton are now down to 10 men.

Chelsea spread the ball around the pitch, and when Eden Hazard sends in a deep, looping cross, debutant
Samuel Eto'o is there to nod the ball in.

Martin Atkinson calls time on a good first-half for Chelsea. Chelsea have played well so far, although Everton will a little hard done-by over Gibson's red card.
